Chapter 1: Prologue: an unknown village in the woods.

Chapter Text

He looked like a normal 4-year-old boy, and acted like a normal boy. Though he was born without any parents, he simply popped into existence one day. But, the people of the village took care of him. They referred to him as “Lord Okakushi” and made sure he was fed, clean, and showed enough love & affection. While this village seems normal, it was anything but. Firstly, the village was hidden from all satellite images and all the people there were not registered on any family registries. Secondly, the people here had supernatural powers, powers that put them on a different level to normal people. And the one with the most power would be the chief and his family. The villagers knew of their powers and how different they were, however they chose to simply stay because of a duty. What was the duty of the villagers, especially the chiefs? Simple, to take care of the young Lord Okakushi, their ancestor had told them that should he feel endangered then the world shall end by his hand. However, humans are curious, thinking creatures. And one boy’s curiosity gave way to questioning, to discontent, and to prideful anger.

He was discontent with serving a seemingly weak, pathetic boy who could not wield any powers of any sort in the village of supernatural humans. “Why should I need to serve this weak child? For some old tale or tradition?” He thought. It was from there that he began to plan his murder of the boy, not knowing the danger he had exposed the world to.

*Woosh*
A sharp blade of wind had cut through the final man guarding a boy, a young man walked forward ready to kill the boy, Lord Okakushi, the weak child he had to take care of. He looked at the boy's face one last time, fear, and panic were visible on his pale face.

‘A simple, weak, and ignorant child who could not even speak words in the presence of his death. Why did my foolish ancestors take care of him and force me to also care and serve him? Oh well, that old man is not an issue anymore. Pfft, the world would end if I kill him, what did those old fools think of this child? Perhaps I should explore the world and take over it with my powers once I dispose of this boy’ The man thought.

However, as he was about to strike the boy down. The boy's eyes suddenly became hollow, empty, if you would. The man was instinctively afraid, he knew that if he attacked the boy now, he would die then and there. However, the pride that had led him to killing his entire village, including the former chief, his father, had gotten the better of him for the last time. He fired a wind blade out of fear… but the attack did not land on the target. The next thing he knew he was dead, and he felt that not even his spirit would survive this invisible, merciless end the boy had inflicted upon him.

Empty.
That was what he felt after that day. However, he did not know he was feeling that. After all, he was not taught about emotions and how to differentiate between them. All he knew was that he used to feel pleasant thumping in his heart and his lips would curl upwards when someone would bring him food and play with him. The suffocating feeling in his head as clear water fell from his stinging eyes when he saw the scary man kill everyone in the village. The hanging dread as they tried to protect him, even if that meant they had to give up their own lives. And how he felt an unpleasant thumping in his heart when the scary man tried to kill him. And then he forced himself to open a gate and end the man.

The 7 year old’s village was now just damaged houses and broken streets from the unknown accident that occurred here. As he wandered aimlessly through the ruins of his village, thorny plants and bugs in his path died. He had done this empty wandering for days, months, maybe even years now. If he was a normal boy he would have starved to death long ago, but he felt no hunger. All he felt was a desire to wander and find someone, anyone, to play with.

But he was stopped in his tracks when he saw a figure in the distance, a figure that he had seen before. He had seen this figure on the day of his birth, and she walked cautiously towards him, fully aware of his powers and how much of a threat he is to the world. And she had brought some people who were cowering behind her. However, he did not see any black lines of killing intent, so he decided to trust them too.

“I thought I could leave the matter to the humans, because you yourself look like a human. Now I see that that was a mistake. Please come with me, you have your seal broken, but this is no place for you to be, please.” The woman said before putting out her hand asking him to come along with her.

The boy just looked at her. Then nodded slowly, he walked towards her, killing the plants in his way before taking her hand and being seated in a Jeep going somewhere.

*Groan*
"Why is it so hard to get a job!" A young Japanese woman in a suit complains, she had been denied her 29th interview. Asaka Takatou thought she had good skills for an entry level teaching position, however not getting an interview for the 29th time in a row really gets to you. Was it her personality? Her looks? She thought had more than enough qualifications, she even got a teaching certificate that says she works well with children for crying out loud!

“*Sigh* Maybe I should look at the job office’s help page one last time before calling it quits.” as Asaka looks at the job site one last time. She sees a new listing.

“Hmm, looks kinda suspicious, but it seems that they will accept new hires and have fantastic benefits. I should at least apply.” Asaka says before filling in her details and heading to bed.

In the morning, Asaka saw that she had been accepted for an interview almost immediately.

“*Gasp* I did it! I finally got an interview. All right, I need to put on my suit and make my best impression to get this job. Teaching life, here I come!” Asaka then began to jump around her apartment in anticipation and joy at finally being accepted for an interview.

Notes:

Little did she know that by accepting this interview her life would be turned upside down and she will deal with a boy who is an unstoppable, unkillable calamity. The personification of the end itself. And that boy will become her precious son whom she would go through hell and back with just to keep him happy. After all, even supernatural beings have an end.
