Work Text:
It’s been several months since the uranium mission, and after a few weeks of figuring each other out, Bradley and Jake have been living in each others’ pockets. While they each have their own off-base housing, they spend more time at Bradley’s place than anything. Jake claims that it’s homier than his, so Bradley begrudgingly agrees and allows him to stay over most nights (he’s more willing than he makes it seem, but he doesn’t want to come off as too eager to Jake).
Last night was one of those nights -- Bradley invited Jake over for dinner, and sooner than later, the two were making out on the couch like teenagers. Bradley eventually dragged Jake to his bedroom and the rest of the night was a blur of pleasure.
Bradley wakes up hours later to the room overcast in gray, alongside the sound of rain hitting the windows. It’s apparently one of those rare days in San Diego where it rains, but Bradley doesn’t mind. He wasn’t planning on doing much today anyway. They both have the day off, so the most he planned on doing was going for a walk outside. Since that’s out of the question, they might as well just lounge around all day.
He rubs his eyes and yawns quietly before looking over at Jake. The other man is facing him with an arm over Bradley’s waist. He looks peaceful while asleep, long lashes kissing his cheeks and expression soft with innocence. Bradley wishes he looked like this more, but he’ll take whatever he can get. With a sigh, he pulls Jake closer to him and closes his eyes again.
--
When he wakes again, it’s to the feeling of fingertips brushing against his cheek. Bradley makes a pleased noise in the back of his throat and slowly opens his eyes, glancing over at his boyfriend who’s looking at him with adoration in his eyes.
“Hey,” he mumbles, voice thick with sleep.
“Hi, darlin’.” Jake’s lips curve into a soft smile and his green eyes light up even more than Bradley thought possible. “Did you sleep well?”
“Mmm,” Bradley hums. He moves his head onto Jake’s pillow and shoves his way into the area between Jake’s collarbone and neck, much like a cat requesting pets.
Jake chuckles and rests his free arm over Bradley’s back, threading his fingers through Bradley’s curls. “You still sleepy?”
“You’re so warm… and it’s gross out.”
“Okay, okay.” Jake chuckles again, the sound vibrating in Bradley’s chest. “We can stay here as long as you want. Does that sound good?”
Bradley nods.
Jake presses a kiss into Bradley’s hair and continues stroking it until they both drift off again.
