Chapter Text
The Cold War had lasted a bit to long, well. It lasted to long to Soviet. 41 years of a war, 1987
the Russian man stood from his chair, grabbing a piece of paper that had been folded from the last drawer of his desk. It was a letter, to the United States. The Soviet Union had written it a long while ago, a time where the Cold War was just starting.
it was supposed to be an invite, to have a drink and end the war. But the war had gotten worse, causing the invite to just gather dust in the bottom drawer.
the USSR looked at the folded letter, a sigh coming out of him. He walked out his office, dragging his feet against the floor as he slid the letter in his pocket.
a slight knock was heard on the Americans door, foot steps heard behind it. The trustful capital of the United States opened the door, her face lighting up at the sight of the Russian.
”Mr. union! Why are you here? My father is currently sleeping, just so you know.”
she spoke calmly, a slight smile on her face. The Soviet Union looked past the open door, seeing an indeed sleeping United States. Their head was down on the desk, arms placed under their head. They looked.. peaceful for once. Not yelling or grumbling something under their breath.
”I just wanted to give letter, for your father. Just lay it on desk.”
The Soviet Union handed the folded paper to Washington.D.C, looking away. She gladly took it, placing it in her own pocket.
”well thank you, Mr. union. I will give it to my father when they wake up! Do you wish for me to tell them that you gave the letter?”
”no. Your father will not read if they knows it was by me.”
D.C nodded, closing the door. The USSR stood in front of the closed door for a bit, before walking away back to his office.
He almost slammed the door when he got in, sitting in his chair. The Russian regretted giving the letter, he didn’t even read it! He didn’t know what was on it. All he knew that it was an invite.
”ЕБАТЬ. ЗАЧЕМ Я ОТДАЛ ЭТО ЧЕРТОВО ПИСЬМО?! ЕБАТЬ.” (FUCK. WHY DID I GIVE THIS FUCKING LETTER?! FUCK.)
He slammed his fist down on his desk, causing a few papers to fall off. His door opened, a concerned East Germany staring at him.
“Was zur Hölle ist mit dir los?” (What the hell is wrong with you?)
the USSR looked at the German, his eyes wide. He didn’t think this fucker would appear immediately.
”Ничего.” (nothing.)
a sigh came out of Soviet as he rubbed his forehead, shoving his hair out the way. His took off his hat, placing it on his desk as the German left. He fluffed up his hair, it now being a mess. He liked it that way though.
The USSR put his head down, looking at the papers scattered on his desk. A groan came out of him, echoing quietly in his room.
he stood, picking up the fallen papers from his floor, stacking them with other papers. It made about a meter in height, earning a sigh from the Russian man.
he sat back down, reaching for a pen before he heard a knock at his door. The shadow of a rather tall man loomed in front of it.
great. Someone else to bother me when I’m about to work.
The Soviet Union stood, walking over to his door. He opened it, rather shocked to see his American enemy standing in front of him.
“We think this letter is from you, correct?”
They handed the letter to him, a slight smirk on their face. The Russian nodded, taking the letter in hand.
”how did you know.”
”you put your name at the bottom.”
”oh”
”anyways. We would take up the offer… if we didn’t have a meeting. We can try Sunday? What ever time you’d like, handsome.”
the smirk grew bigger as the American spoke. The USSR always found it weird when they said ‘we’ instead of ‘I’, but they made sense when they did.
”Is 6 option? I’m open after that.”
the United States nodded, their obnoxious sunglasses sliding off a bit as they tilted their head down to get a better look at the Russian, sharing a glimpse of their eyes. They pushed the tinted glasses up, eyes hidden again.
Soviet could feel the Americans eyes looking him up and down, an uncomfortable feeling inside of him.
”okay. Sunday, 6 pm.”
The United States had turned their heel, walking away as the Soviet Union closed his door. He almost immediately pushed his back to it, sliding down. His ass hit the floor, earning a small groan.
”okay, okay. All I did was invite United States for drink. Wait- дерьмо! I forgot to say where.”
he mentality punched himself, sliding onto his back as he rubbed his face. His fingers brushed against his white hair, making him realize he had just talked to the United States, his worst enemy, without his hat.
Soviet groaned again, sitting up. He cracked his knuckles while standing up. He sluggishly walked over to his desk, grabbing his bag.
The Russian remembered that he had a meeting, something about a Chernobyl disaster. (Wowza)
He opened his door, walking over to the meeting room. Really the only thing on his mind was the United States, and the fact that they would fucking accept an invite from someone they were scared of.
The USSR opened the meeting room door, seeing the UN already there, picking up a few things from the last meeting.
”Mr. UN. You asked me to talk, correct?”
”Oh- yes, Mr. union. I am pleased that you decided to come. Please sit down.”
The UN had a smile on his face as he finished picking up the stuff. Soviet sat down, putting his bag on the seat next to him.
AFTER THE MEETING BC I AINT PUTTIN ALL THAT HISTORY BS
the USSR walked out the meeting room, his bag swaying with every step. The meeting had cleared his mind about the drink with the American, so that was good.
The United States was, unfortunately, walking through the hall as Soviet was entering it, putting the ‘date’ back in his mind.
He quickly walked back to his office, his own capital randomly appearing like everyone fucking does now. Москва sitting at the USSRs desk, quietly finishing paper work.
the Soviet Union sighed, telling Москва he was there.
“Oh! папа!” (Papa!)
”привет москва.” (Hello Moscow)
He walked over to his capital, patting them on the head. A smile was on московский face as they were given affection.
”is something wrong?”
god damnit, Soviet forgot that damn москва can basically read him.
”no, nothings wrong, don’t worry.”
well that was definitely a lie.
