The Pros and Cons of Running Everyone You Mildly Dislike Through With a Sword

Summary:

James Barry complains to his dog Psyche about Florence Nightingale. That's it.

Notes:

(See the end of the work for notes.)

Work Text:

“Florence Nightingale,” says Dr James Barry. “Is one of the most insufferable women to ever walk this earth. You understand, don’t you, Psyche?”
Psyche, being a dog and unable to utter a word of English, keeps silent. Which is probably wise; James is in one of his moods.
“Now she’s scared of me.” Continues James gloomily, tracing a circle in the dust with the heel of his tall boots. “Which is an interesting experience, I must say. I don’t believe anyone has ever been scared of me before.”
“I think,” James says, “I shall run her through with my sword.”

Notes:

I'm tired and wanted to try and write a drabble. So here we are.
