Work Text:
Don’t you ever feel like your life has been perfectly composed until one day it wasn’t, that everything seemed more than fine but it was not, because sometimes as simple as it might sound or look, it could change your life?
Harry knew everything was okay but suddenly it wasn’t. Being one of the most popular guys in school suddenly wasn’t enough and all the girls around definitely weren’t what he was looking for, not anymore .
He had just turned 18. Most people would think that being eighteen is not a big deal but Harry was more than sure that everyone had a hard time at that age. As the years came people just began to change their minds as well for their existential crises.
–
His entire life turned around– his mom, his friends, the rugby team and all the girls he had dated at the time.
Everyone at school definitely thought he was the luckiest guy in town, Harry Styles , academic star, captain of the rugby team, well educated kid and more importantly in the young boys world, he was popular between the girls.
His friends always used him as wingman, Harry had always enchanted everybody with his charming personality. It was something that all the women that were part of his life had told him at some point.
He was on his way to school, he always thought that the best self-chats occurred in the morning or while in the restroom, either way he was now more than confused about himself.
Girls weren’t as interesting as they used to be, rugby was still fun but being surrounded by all the guys in the locker room had started making him nervous, and not in a very friendly or platonic way. Not that he was a weirdo, he wasn’t. But boys had started to look prettier to his eyes and Harry didn’t know if he liked it or not.
“Harry!” a cheerful voice called his name, he startled at it, not because he got scared but the owner of the voice had indeed got him out of his thoughts, it was more because the owner of said voice was a girl, a girl that Harry knew was crushing over him and he simply didn’t want that kind of attention at the moment.
“Julia!” he answered, hoping the fake happy tone in his voice went unnoticed, Julia was pretty, she checked most of the things Harry liked (or used to like) about girls, tall but not as much as him, long lashes, puffy lips and a very nice laugh. However, he wasn’t really interested in them nor her, not now and probably not anymore as far as he knew.
“Hi Harry! Did you enjoy the weekend?” she quickly added, Julia had a bright smile plastered on her face, her manicured hands already playing with her long hair. Harry would have fallen for that a few months ago but not anymore, he was just a guy trying to figure out who the heck he was, yet here he was.
“Yep, I did,” he said and started to walk towards the school building, Julia didn’t seem to get the message though, she was walking or running behind Harry, oh girls! so pure, always looking for love.
He surely didn’t want to be rude to her but he also wasn’t positive about giving her hope, faith or some sort of signal about them because that was just not happening. Nope, Harry had other things in mind, or more likely (that was the truth) someone else living rent free inside his mind.
So as the gentleman her family had raised till that moment, he abruptly stopped on his way to the building entrance and turned to face the smiley girl that had been following him the past few minutes, he coyly smiled, took a whiff of air and mentally (also physically, only god knew how Julia would react) prepared to speak his truth to her (almost).
“Hey Harry,” she dumbly said when she noticed him stopping.
“Julia,” Harry began, “look, you are very pretty and have very nice feelings but I know you are looking for something…” she attentively looked at him, big puppy eyes on full display, “something I can’t give you now and probably will never be able to give you, but know I fully appreciate our friendship.” he finally said, and that hadn’t been that bad.
Until she hit him hard in the face, and okay, he kind of deserved it, he thought. (or not since it wasn’t exactly his fault not being interested).
–
When he finally entered the building he looked at his Apple Watch, the action only making his eyes grow wider since he only had exactly 10 minutes to do everything he wanted before his class started.
He then ran to the main hallway, where all the lockers were placed and walked all the way to the end of it to find the one he was looking for, not exactly his as they were collocated according to the grade they were in.
It had a pink lock, thankfully he knew the code so he quickly opened it, Harry looked around to see if anyone was there before committing the crime and thankfully he was alone, so he took the chance and grabbed the origami rose he had made last night, perfectly placing it inside the locker before closing it once again.
It was done, or almost done because the most important part was awaiting for him in the locker room, so he quickly put his backpack followed by his duffle bag over his shoulder and ran as fast as he could to them.
–
“I’m so sorry I’m late, but I had to tell Julia we ain’t going anywhere unless it's to be friends then when I finally made it inside I… I had to do something very quick so I could come over here and I’m truly truly sorry I, well we don't have more time to be together before our courses start but please notice I’m very sorry…” He was venting, a bit more than he should? Maybe but who cares, he did of course, but embarrassing himself in front of someone as important as the person that shared the room was nothing in comparison to not getting to spend as much time as he would have liked together.
Harry looked up, he didn’t have enough time to keep up with his rant because not long after a pair of arms were rounding his neck and the only thing that seemed right to do was cuddle back so his body’s instinct did the same, placing his arms around the small waist of said someone.
“You are cute when you rant about absurd things, but please let me breath,” he heard then from a lil muffled voice, apparently he was not only hugging back but almost suffocating his special someone, “I’m sorry Lou, I’m truly am…” he stated once more only to get a laugh in response.
The face of the younger guy was in pure awe, his big lashes only making him look more adorable than he already was. Harry was still holding his hands when his alarm went off and fuck, they were going to be late to class.
Louis tiptoed a bit and gave Harry a sweet kiss on his cheek, “will I see you later?” the boy then asked. “Yeah, I’ll walk you home after school,” Harry quickly answered, his hand was on his cheek, right where Louis had just kissed him as if he couldn’t believe it.
–
“Mr. Styles!” the voice said, and he swiftly turned to face the owner of it, his History professor, “yes? Mr. Edmonson?” he shyly asked, he had clearly been out of himself, daydreaming about what he was going to ask Louis later that day.
“Mr. Styles, may I remind you that this is no place to be daydreaming, I’ve been asking you several times a question and it’s only now that I’ve called you out that you finally seem to be present in class.” the older man stated, he then looked down and responded “I’m sorry sir, it won’t happen again.”
“I’m sure it won’t Mr. Styles, however let’s keep going with the class.” he ultimately said, and with that Harry’s day went as normal as it could.
–
“Are you coming, Harry?” Peter asked when break time came, “No, go ahead I still have to do a few things before heading out.” He promptly answered his friend just giving him a quick smile, the other boy just nodded and headed out of the room on his way to the patio.
The only thing Harry needed to do was go to the arts classroom where Louis was probably eating his lunch, so he took his and went there.
“Mr. Hatt…” Harry said with a surprise tone lingering in his voice, “Harry, come in please. What is our best athlete doing here today?” the man asked with a knowing look, which of course he knew, he was an artist (and Louis’ favourite professor) after all.
The curly-headed boy looked around and found a pretty smiley face and its owner sat on the floor and smiled back, then he responded “well, I came to have lunch here today,” and moved to where Louis was sitting in the room.
Once he placed himself next to Louis, he timidly looked up just to find the pretty boy next to him blushing already, wasn’t he the cutest? “I only hope you don’t get into any trouble Mr. Styles,” Mr. Hatt said in what had seemed a very protective tone to him before leaving the room.
“Jesus! He hates me, doesn’t he?” he exclaimed, Louis only laughed once again and continued eating his strawberry marmalade sandwich, Harry looked back at him and smiled when Louis moved his left hand to rest on Harry’s thigh, the boy looked insecure about whether he could or not place it there but the action was only reciprocated by Harry putting his own on Louis’.
They ate the rest of their respective snacks in silence, neither of them wanting to break the comfortable bubble they were in. “I’m glad you came,” Louis commented, not too long after they’ve both finished, “I like spending time with you,” Harry responded, both smiling to themselves.
–
Harry was the type of guy who liked doing things in the right way, so he wanted to properly ask Louis to go out with him but walking him home wasn’t his idea of doing it so he had a plan in the making.
“Niall, I’ll be fine I swear!” Louis was yelling at Niall, they had basically been best friends since they both were in their mothers’ womb, as far as Harry knew. Even if he and Louis hadn’t started to actually talk or ‘interact’ till Crystal’s birthday party he knew that. He couldn’t remember a time when they weren’t together as thick as thieves and he understood that kind of friendship so he just looked at them in amusement.
He saw Louis hug Niall goodbye and the only thing Harry felt was jealousy at how they could freely hang out without fear, however the feeling was soon left behind when Louis pulled from his cardigan leading the way to his home. “Time to go Harold!” the boy exclaimed as they walked together, the smile that appeared on his face was inevitable.
“Can I hold your hand instead of you pulling me like a dog? Would that be better?” Harry asked in wonder of what Louis could come up with, because the boy was adorable but he was also a menace, a menace Harry liked lots and lots.
Louis paused his steps and turned back to face Harry, a playful smile plastered on his face “Okay, that would totally work better,” he said and extended his hand in Harry’s direction, Harry always had loved holding hands but it wasn’t something he did very often with the girls he had went out, it was reserved for someone special as his mom and now Louis too, it was a pure act of intimacy in his truest opinion.
“Are you busy this weekend, Lou?” Harry asked, their hands still intertwined and smiling at the gesture, “You like asking a lot of things, right Harold?” Louis asked back. Louis suddenly stopped and moved to face Harry, the question not being answered yet, “I need to know what we are doing here Harry, because even though I love sneaking out to see you at school I don’t want nor deserve being anyone’s secret, so I need you to tell me now or else I think you can go back to be the school’s sweetheart everyone loves,” It wasn’t the answer Harry was expecting but he kind of got it, Louis had all the right to be afraid of what they were doing.
Harry took a deep breath and extended his other hand to catch Louis’ one, “This is all new for me but that doesn’t mean I’m not being serious here Lou…” he let go one of Louis hands and used his own to make Louis look at him by the chin, when Harry was sure the blue-eyed boy was looking at him continued his speech, “I want to be able to go out with you, hold your hand and not only while I’m walking you home, I want everything and more with you.” He concluded, a shy smile was printed on Louis' face, his cheeks were all rosy from the blush, and the only right thing was to bring the boy into a hug so he did.
After a few moments, they went back to walking towards Louis’ home. Harry had pulled Louis to his side, his arm over his shoulders, “so are you gonna tell me what you’re doing this weekend?” The happiness that his voice radiated was evident and he was confident enough that this time Louis would tell him about his plans.
The boy that was under his arm was currently playing with the paw of his cardigan, “Hmm, I’ll be at Niall’s Friday night until Saturday midday, why?” he was not looking at Harry again but Harry didn’t miss the small smile that stayed in Louis’ face when he finished his sentence.
“Well, I was thinking we could do something on Saturday? How does that sound?” “Hmmm, okay” Louis easily responded and then let go of Harry's touch and if it wasn’t for that Harry would never have noticed that they were already in front of Louis’ home.
“See you, Harry.” Louis said before turning the other way around to walk to his home front door, Harry saw the boy he lo- liked, that word was the one that scared Harry the most and it was that the main reason he was looking forward to talk to his mom about how he had been feeling lately, it was for his own and Louis’ sake. He wanted to be more than friends.
–
On his way home Harry had been preparing his speech, what was he supposed to tell his mom? “Mom I think I’m gay and I like my school friend, I’m actually considering asking him to be my boyfriend?” or “Mom I have something to confess to you, I don’t know how or why but I might be gay,” because none of those seemed like the correct answer to his question.
When he got to the door he prepared for the talk they were going to have, he wasn’t going to ask Louis out if he didn’t talk to his mom first.
“I’m home!” he announced as he entered his own home, the cats were the first ones to come say hello, as if they wanted to show their support to him, it was lovely because he needed all the affection possible and not because his mom wouldn’t be okay with it, she was the best but that didn’t make him feel better anyway.
“In the kitchen, Harry!” He heard his mom call, so he left his bags on the sofa and went there to face the music.
“Hey darling, how was school today?” she asked, she always did because she cared, “it was okay, I guess,” he said, the blush on his face didn’t go unnoticed by her because she left whatever she had been doing and brought him into a embrace, his back facing her front. His mom was the best cuddler in the world, he could swear it for his dear life.
“What is it, hmm?” she was rubbing his back in a very soothing motherly way and he was thankful for it, “I… I like someone, mom” he said, the smile growing wider and wider, “Oh” was the only answer he got, it was his cue to spill the tea and he knew it. “The thing is that it's a him and I’m scared about it because I like him a lot.”
“Oh Harry! I don’t see what’s the problem in that head of yours, you should do what I always tell you. Follow your heart! You should know that by now.” she simply responded, and then went back to rub his back, after a few minutes she placed a kiss on his forehead and went back to cooking.
“Thanks mom,” he finally responded, “Now that we’ve solved that big problem Harry, don’t you think that you should be telling your dearest mom all about it?” his mom commented, the curiosity in her voice was more than evident so Harry started with his little love story.
–
"I can’t believe Crystal invited them!" "Neither do I, why would she want those weirdos at her birthday party?" "I heard Tomlinson is gay a while ago, since then I stopped talking to him and his friend," "That’s disgusting, I can’t believe he is allowed to use the dressers at the same time we do."
The voices were what scared Harry the most, that or that they were his friends voices. Harry never understood how they could express themselves so badly about someone they didn’t know, like at all.
He was tired of it, he never joined them in those conversations but he knew it wasn’t okay either way because he had always let them say whatever they wanted about whoever they wanted and that was as bad as if he joined their chit chats.
“Could you please stop your shit talk?” It was over for him, they turned to look at him, confusion passing through their eyes like they couldn’t believe it. “What?” Josh and Howard asked in unison. “I said to stop your fucking shit talk! You don’t even know them!” he exclaimed or yelled (or maybe both), “and you do?” Josh then questioned.
“No, not exactly but you shouldn’t be judging people just because they aren’t like you.” Harry finally stated before getting out of the room they were in.
He was wandering around the place, looking at what was inside each room until he got to the last one at the end of the hallway. He was about to open the door when he heard someone crying on the other side of it. He didn’t want to make them uncomfortable but he also felt like he should enter the room so he waited to hear that they weren’t alone, at least they would have a shoulder to cry on.
After some minutes the only thing he could hear were sobs, so Harry decided to enter and see what he could do. What or who he had found in there wasn’t the person he was expecting, Louis Tomlinson, a particularly talented kid from 7th year, he knew he liked science, chess and had a lovely voice when singing, he was also one of, if not the prettiest boy Harry had ever seen in his entire life.
Louis Tomlinson was also the kid his friends had been making fun of not so many times ago. Harry wanted to help but he wasn’t sure about how, it wasn’t as if he personally knew Louis, did he want to meet him? Sure but not exactly in this situation, he was feeling bad about everything he had heard his friends say about him, nevertheless he went to where Louis was and sat next to him.
He put his arm around the boy’s shoulders and let him cry there, Harry knew it wasn’t much help but what else could he do? He then started petting Louis’ soft hair and he soon stopped crying. They stayed like that for a little while and neither of them said anything either.
It was until Louis’ phone rang that they came back to reality, the blue eyed boy was flushed from crying, with puffy eyes and red lips. He looked up to see Harry but he didn’t move more than necessary to reach his phone and answer. “Hello?... No, I’m fine but if you come to pick me up now I won’t mind, thanks.” and with that the call was done.
Louis put his phone next to him, but didn’t make an attempt to get out of Harry’s grip, making Harry internally cheer. “Are you okay?” Harry finally asked, they weren’t friends but that also didn’t mean Harry couldn’t care about others. Louis shifted a bit, however his face was still pillowed on Harry’s chest, “Yeah, thanks… thanks for this I suppose,” Louis responded, it was a completely new experience for them both, but it didn’t feel wrong in any sense.
A few more minutes passed and Louis was the first to talk, “Why are you here though? Aren’t you supposed to be with the girls and your manly friends?” he said, his tone a bit dark and off. Harry hummed in surprise and quickly responded, “Well, I’m not sure I want to be friends with them anymore. I think they aren’t very nice after all and the girls… well I just don’t want them around, you know? It doesn’t feel right anymore.” he ended, hoping Louis would understand him.
“Yeah, I do.” the pretty boy that he was cuddling with said, Harry looked down and smiled.
–
Since the party they had stuck together, it was like an invisible pull that Harry felt for Louis, he simply couldn’t get enough.
He told his mom everything, how the guys had been rude to Louis and that was the reason he left the party to hide in a room alone until he found him, he also told her that they had began spending the break together pretty much since then and the most important part, he told her about his plan of asking Louis out.
She had said she was onboard and would help in any way she could to make Harry’s plan reality, and that was how they ended at Tesco on a Friday afternoon. Louis had agreed in the morning to do something on Saturday’s evening with him after leaving Niall’s house and Harry was totally fine with it.
He knew Louis’s favourite science branch was astronomy, so he planned on having a picnic at the beach during the night, it would be perfect for them to get a chance to see the stars together plus Harry was a hopeless romantic and he wanted to formally ask Louis out in a romantic setting or at least while they were doing something nice and sweet. It had to be memorable.
“Harry, which marmalade are we getting? I might be your mom and know you but you are the one holding the list of things we have to get,” she started, he was out of the loop, thinking about what could make his date with Louis even better
He and his mom agreed on making marmalade and peanut butter sandwiches, the nights were starting to get colder so he was also getting cocoa to make them some hot chocolate and a bunch of Oreo cookies, since those were Louis’ favourites.
His mom had insisted on baking some muffins for them and he wasn’t going to say no to that, so that was the starting point to make a supermarket list in order to get all the ingredients.
“I’m going for the flour,” he told his mom, he was on his way when he saw a pair of blue eyes, the owner of said pretty eyes was smiling and also wearing a space-themed pyjama, Harry couldn’t help but smile at how adorable Louis looked.
“Hi, Lou” he said as he walked towards the boy, “Hi Harry,” Louis answered, Harry went down and gave him a quick peck on the cheek just enough to make the lovely boy flush. Their encounter was soon interrupted when Niall appeared, “Ew, you both are absolutely disgusting.” Louis looked at his friend in disbelief and simply smacked him on the back of the head, “Watch your mouth Horan! You might want to sleep with an eye open tonight.” Louis stayed and Harry just admired the interaction.
Harry was going to say something when he heard his mom speak, “You must be Louis!” and fuck , this wasn’t part of the plan. He definitely wanted to introduce them but the supermarket just wasn’t the ideal, not in Harry’s head. Harry might never recover from the embarrassment. He turned to face his mom as fast as he could, the cackle that Niall let out was all but subtle, but it was compensated with the ‘ouch’ he let out after.
“Yeah, I’m Louis, it’s a pleasure to meet you Mrs. Styles,” Harry was still looking at his mom, eyes pleading her to leave, it was too late because she was already answering Louis. “Oh, you’re so sweet, just as pretty as Harry said!” Louis couldn’t help but smile at that, the attention was once again directed towards Niall when he introduced himself to Harry’s mom, “It’s also nice to meet you Mrs. Styles, I’m Niall, Louis’ best friend forever and ever.”
Anne smiled at that, “oh then it’s also nice to meet you Niall, well boys I think this is my cue to leave and head to the cash register.” She simply smiled and sent Harry a look of ‘I got away with it’, “I’ll see you in the car,” he said to her while she walked to her destination.
Harry turned his attention back to Louis, who was still standing in front of him expectantly. “I’m seeing you tomorrow, right?” He knew that but he wanted Louis to say it, it made things feel more real. “Yeah, I’ll see you tomorrow Harry,” with that Harry preened in content and gave Louis another kiss on the cheek and said his goodbyes to him and Niall.
Harry was walking towards the exit when he heard Louis calling his name so he faced him. “Harry!” he was running in his direction, so Harry started to walk to him as well, “What’s up?,” he was about to say more when Louis attacked his lips with his own, it was a sweet short kiss but it was a kiss undoubtedly.
Harry was left in a dumbfounded state, the last thing he heard was “I loved the flower you left in my locker the other day.” With that Louis left him there, standing in awe at what had just happened between them.
And okay, Harry may have agreed with everyone at that moment. He was the luckiest boy, the lovely blue eyed boy he loved had just kissed him. Harry couldn’t wait for Saturday evening to come.
—
The alarm went off.
“Fuck Niall, turn that off! It’s Saturday!” Louis groaned, he and Niall were best friends since they were little kids, their parents began their friendship back in university so it made sense they were inseparable. Niall cared so much for Louis and Louis for him, it was more a brother from another mother situation.
“It’s on your side! YOU turn it off!” the other boy exclaimed, and yep it made more sense, so Louis extended his hand to reach the clock and turn it off, however there was no way he could go back to sleep. Not knowing he was going on an actual date with none other than Harry Styles.
“Thank you Niall! Now I won’t be able to go back to sleep,” Louis said as he threw his arm over his face, he stayed like that until he felt the bed shift from Niall’s side and his beloved friend placed himself over Louis, Louis felt like a sandwich but he was okay with it, “do you like him?” Niall asked, sandwiches didn’t speak so he didn’t attempt to answer.
“Lou, do you like him? I’m being serious,” his friend's voice sounded concerned, maybe he could make a sandwich exception and answer so he did, “yes…” Niall hummed in response, moving to a comfortable position. “Okay… but if he does something you don’t like I’m going to…” Louis shifted to face his friend and hugged him as tight as he could.
“You don’t have to, but thanks Niall.” Louis knew his friend would kill Harry if he played wrong with him, (maybe not kill, he’d probably chop his curls off but that was it). The day continued, they went for breakfast when Niall’s mom called their names and just like that it was back to normality.
Or not, because Louis was internally freaking out about his date.
–
On the other side, Harry was ( also ) freaking out.
“Harry c’mon! You can’t use all the hot water in the house!” his mom yelled, he had been showering way too long but it was worth it, Louis was worth it. “I’m almost finished!” he yelled back, with that turned off the water and started to dry himself off.
Harry opened the door, to find his mom outside their bathroom with a knowing grin on her face, he sarcastically smiled at her and headed to his room. He had planned his outfit the night before.
A dark green hoodie, a pair of orange jorts and a plain white tee, and his vans. Head also packed a soft blanket in case Louis got cold, once he was dressed he went downstairs to wait for his mom. She was the one driving them, so the plan basically was picking Louis up at Niall’s and then drive to the beach, she was only the driver so she wouldn’t stay with them (or that was what Harry was hoping).
“You got everything?” She asked, already on her way to the car so Harry followed once everything was inside the basket he was taking with him. “Yep, I have everything, or I think I do,” opening the picnic basket only to confirm.
- 2 oreo packs
- 4 mini sandwiches
- 2 yeti mugs with hot chocolate
- 4 muffins
- And a bowl full of strawberries covered in chocolate
Harry had spent all morning with his mom preparing what he was bringing, it was going to be splendid, it had to. “Okay, we can go, I have everything!” he declared, his mom giggled at that and started driving in the direction of Niall’s house.
Louis and Niall were outside waiting for them when they arrived. He saw Louis say ‘bye’ to Niall while he was waiting for him next to the car’s door, Harry was a gentleman so he obviously opened it for Louis. “Thanks,” the boy said as he joined his mom inside the car.
Harry went to the other side and got back to his past position as the copilot, “So, Louis you stay at Niall’s every Friday night?” his mom and Louis were chatting already, “Yeah, we’ve had our weekly movie night since we were kids and he’s my best friend so I have no problem still doing it.” he responded with a wide smile on his face. “That’s so sweet of you guys, anyway put your seatbelts on before I start driving,” she said and both Harry and Louis did as they were told.
The way to the beach was pretty quiet, it consisted more of Harry’s mom humming along to the music she was playing in the car and an exchange of shy looks between Harry and Louis.
Harry didn’t notice they'd arrived until his mom first spoke “Okay, we’re here. I’m not third wheeling so Harry, call me when you are ready to leave." She said, Harry knew she was the best but she really needed to thank his mom for it.
Louis was already opening the door of the car when he got there, so he just pulled it open for him, once they were out his mom said she’d go to the movies so they shouldn’t disturb her unless it was absolutely necessary, with that they headed to find the perfect spot in the sand.
“Can I help you carry something?” Louis asked, “It’s okay Lou, I’ve got it,” Harry happily responded and he didn’t say yes because he wanted to impress Louis, it was more because he wanted to keep what was inside the basket a surprise and Louis would’ve totally opened it and seen it, he wasn't risking it.
“Is it okay for us to sit here?” he then asked Louis and the boy nodded in content, so Harry left the basket next to where he was standing and placed a picnic blanket for them to sit, “so we are really having a picnic at the beach, I like it,” Louis expressed and that made Harry smile. “Yep, mom help me a bit but I planned it thinking you might like it.” With that Louis tiptoed and gave him a kiss on the cheek, Harry’s brows furrowed a bit, he wanted a kiss but not exactly on the cheek.
“You are really cute when you do that face,” Louis commented while laughing at him, so Harry showed his pout, “I’m not cute, Lou,” the statement only make Louis laugh even more, so Harry was fine, he liked the way his eyes got crinkles around when he laughed or the way his face blushed, it was adorable.
When everything Harry had brought was set, the sun was already setting down. The sunset had always been Harry’s favourite part of the day and he couldn’t ask for more; he and Louis were sitting next to each other, fingers intertwined, a comfortable silence surrounding them.
He just simply knew it was the perfect moment to let his heart out, so he did what his mom always told him, he stopped thinking with his head (even though it was the right one) and followed his heart.
“ I like you… ” the boy next to him made a swift move and placed his head over Harry’s shoulder after the declaration Harry had just made, “ ... you do? ,” Louis then curiously asked.
“Louis, I really like you… like lots and lots.” Harry continued his previous declaration and started to run his fingers through Louis' hair, it was so soft, he loved it already. “I like you too, Harry… you have no idea how much.” he then looked down, finding his way to Louis’ precious blue eyes which were already looking at him.
Harry made himself as small as he could and did what his body, mind and heart were craving for, he softly pulled Louis into what he would describe the best kiss he had ever been in his short life.
Once they separated from each other the smiles in their faces were as big as someone could possibly smile. If he had to ever describe it, Harry didn’t think he could be able of such a thing but it felt like a liberating thing to do, an instantaneous relief to everything that he had been going through the last months, for as simple it might sound it was love; or the kind of love he didn’t know existed in real life.
–
As their time on the beach passed, the snacks were gone, only leaving behind two boys in love looking at the stars.
“I love seeing the stars, this might’ve been the best night of my life.” Louis whispered, moving closer to Harry’s body. “I’m glad you liked it, I wanted to ask you something actually,” Harry took Louis’ chin and guided the blue eyed boy’s face in his direction. “Yeah? And what was it?” Harry was mesmerised by how pretty Louis looked under the moonlight, he simply smiled and went after Louis' pink lips.
“I want you to be my boyfriend, would you?” he said in between the kisses. “I thought we were already!” Louis squeaked, Harry laughed in response and pulled Louis closer.
–
Who cares about how long they would last, people usually say the first love it’s forever whether you stay together or not but Harry was hopeful it will always be LouisandHarry, HarryandLouis.
