Work Text:
Wednesday doesn't enjoy going outside to have fun.
She like to spend her alone time in their room. Doing anything but interacting with others. She could certainly read there, write her novel, or do something like work on her cello and piano skills.
People who enjoy touches, intimacy, or protracted conversations should avoid her. She truly doesn't enjoy any of it, but she isn't socially awkward either.
Up until Enid.
Enid was the definite antithesis of Wednesday—a lively, exuberant, energetic young lady.
How they connected is really a mystery. It simply happened in a natural, unforced way.
However, there were times when Wednesday couldn't manage some of her tasks. Every night, she uses a loud phone. It was obvious that it caused Wednesday to occasionally lose her place in her writing, as she frequently forgot to click the letters.
Enid occasionally would smile and giggle in a bothersome manner. Since they had been together for almost a year now, Wednesday hasn't even considered how smiles would impact her later. In a horrible way—it was very irritating she wanted to rip out her eyeballs.
Additionally, there are moments when they simply enjoy each other's company. Just savoring how Wednesday's heart will warm without speaking a word. Melting the ice that was covering it.
She remembers studying with Enid in a secluded area of the library, with the sun streaming in through the window, during a time when that area wasn't typically used. Enid was silent, obviously concentrating on the book she was reading for her exam. And for Wednesday, she's silent too.
Perhaps silent since she's too intently focused on Enid.
She's observing her, or perhaps adoring her instead. Her brows were furrowed and her mint-blue eyes were fixed on the book as the sun began to set. Her lips were also moving quietly as she spoke each word like a prayer.
When Wednesday realized what she was doing, she immediately sat down and cleared her throat. Enid shifts her gaze away from the book and tilts her head in a perplexed direction toward her friend. When Wednesday acts strangely, Enid usually asks if she's okay. However, Enid didn't really inquire; instead, she simply hesitant to touch Wednesday's fingertips.
She froze as a small redness started to return to Wednesday's face. She would hold Enid's pinky finger loosely while the sun continued to shine through the window, illuminating both of their faces with orange colours while Enid remained motionless. She kept reading the book despite hearing Wednesday's heartbeat escape into her ear.
'This is wrong.' Wednesday thinks as the revelation overwhelms her with all the colors.
Wednesday enjoyed her company. Even as it hurts to say it, Enid became like a bacteria to her. Every interaction she has with Enid, whether it's loud, quiet, steady, or just being in her company, is comforting. And Enid is unaware of Wednesday's behavior around her.
Even Wednesday occasionally wonders what Enid thinks of her.
As Christmas approached, Enid invited Wednesday to go somewhere with her before they returned to their homes for the holiday.
Enid is unsure of where to begin and believes that Wednesday would simply enjoy being in quiet settings, such as a library or something similar. Perhaps she should take Wednesday to a creepier location, such as an abandoned building.
But Wednesday wasn't sure why she had chosen to go with Enid. Unsure of what to do, she is pacing back and forth. She does not, however, want to disappoint Enid. She is skeptical of the outcome as well, though.
She has known Enid for at least six months, if not more, Wednesday has noticed that whenever she is with the blonde, she always experiences a mildly unsettling feeling. It would be a huge exaggeration to call it an urge for her presence; more accurately, she is probably content, nervous and overcome with a warm feeling. Both feel secure and comfortable.
Perhaps this is how life actually feels.
This morning the sky is completely covered in white snowflakes; there is no sunlight. Enid is likely hanging out with the vampire at Yoko's place and it is cold in their hostel.
Wednesday suddenly found herself hauling a box out from under her mattress. She believes that it contains items that are not necessary for her.
Wednesday was correct in her predictions when she opened the box. full of trash. A photo frame, a toy, an old camera, a pointy knife, and more are there.
When Wednesday picked up the knife and caught a glimpse of herself in the blade, she decided to test its sharpness by slicing a piece of paper that was lying on her bed.
"A keeper." She says to herself as she places the knife next to her.
She then selected a camera, scanning it to discover a note written on its lenses.
'Remember every memory.'
She ignores it. It's black; perhaps it belongs to her parents. She opens it out of curiosity, and to her surprise, it starts. She has only touched a camera twice, and the first time wasn't what she was expecting for. Wednesday press the gallery's scroll button. It is jam-packed with images of her mother. She has one while she reads and one while she sleeps. But the most of the time, she is simply sitting, grinning, and gazing into the camera.
Wednesday assumes her father is the one responsible for this. As she presses the button once more to return home, she mutters, "Disgusting." As she moves the camera closer to her eyes and presses the shutter, she adds, "Truly disgusting." Her ears are ringing with the sounds of clicking and capturing something. She looks at the screen to check the image she took.
Enid's bed is there. There is a camera filter, which gave it a little retro appearance. Wednesday breathes as she senses the heat spreading across her cheeks once more.
She turns around and looks at the camera once more; reality is now more vibrant and the camera is more exposed, revealing emotions and words that need to be spoken.
Enid's bed is tidy and tucked in just the way Wednesday would prefer.
She wonders if it smells good as well.
After spending months with Enid, not even once did she pass the fictitious wall separating their chamber. Enid was the one who typically stepped in front of Wednesday, upsetting her roommate. Wednesday, though, didn't act in the same way.
She frightening it. In addition, it might aggravate her allergies, so instead, she merely let her imagination conjure up images of how soft Enid's bed might be or how it might smell.
Wednesday was aware that Enid frequently smells of fresh strawberries, as well as lavender, roses, sunflower, and vanilla. Wednesday wasn't sure precisely what it was, but it could have made her wobbly in a bad way. Wednesday reasoned that perhaps her bed smelled of that as well.
Wednesday blinks. She didn't usually do that, but she did. She closes the camera after giving it a glance. She has a thought that piques her interest enough to make her want to attempt it.
Wednesday got up and dressed as usual, adding a sweater and a snood that Enid had knitted for her a second time. The smell of the blonde hands is still present. Too sweet that she can develop cavities.
It's just 9 am and her feelings already rising, like her breath. She already feels breathless.
Wednesday was seated too formally and steadily when Enid entered the dorm room. The blonde girl beams.
"Hi Willa, are you ready?"
Wednesday looks at her roommate in front of the door while tearing her eyes away from her typing. She always has impressive style, and the pink sweater looks fantastic on her. Her hair took on a more wavy appearance than usual, and the colors around the edges were more pronounced.
Furthermore, why does Wednesday believe she needs to be informed of any changes involving Enid?
She's still working to unravel the riddle, after all.
The height difference is not an issue for them in any case, so Wednesday gets up and stands in front of Enid.
"Hello Enid, going out is definitely full of fretting things. It's not really my style to act foolishly in front of people since I think it's embarrassing to expose one's frailties to others. I can't wait to pull my eyes out in the end of the day." Wednesday cross her arms and snuggle to the snood closely as she hears Enid chuckles. "Is everything you just stated means 'yes'?"
"Yes."
The eyes of Enid turn a deeper shade of blue. It's unsettling to consider Wednesday noticing that as well. Every time Enid looked at Wednesday and Wednesday looked at her, and then they both looked at each other, Enid's eyes would broaden and she'd give Wednesday her crazy smile, which would cause Wednesday to stop breathing.
It seriously is agonizing.
They eventually found themselves in a supermarket.
In any case, this is their first visit—naturally, together. Wednesday doesn't even know why Enid wants to be here, but she observed how Enid got a cart and pushed it into a corner when nobody was watching. Wednesday sighs as she follows Enid on a run—well, it's not really a run, but it's a run for her.
They ended up in the laundry fragrances area.
Wednesday follows Enid and asks, "What are we doing here, exactly?" She doesn't understand why it seems warm now, despite the fact that the air conditioner is on. As Enid slouches to carry the cart, Wednesday overhears her chuckle. "Silly, I need to wash my clothes before I go home."
"We still have laundry perfumes in our dorm. You don't need to buy."
"Dude, I am thinking if I should try lavender or honey or something."
"You are already using lavender, correct? Also, never call me dude—you'll lose your tongue."
Enid halts her progress and takes the lavender one. She smiles as she casts a glimpse Wednesday. "Nope, lavender isn't really my laundry scent. What made you think of that?" She answered entirely ignoring the threat.
Wednesday remained silent for fear that responding would produce pandemonium, either inside of her or between them.
You smells like them.
She obviously didn't say that as they continued to tour the market. Enid chose an excessive amount of liquids and snacks, which will likely cause her stomach to deteriorate later. Well, for Wednesday, she didn't have any interest of these things. Enid already forced her to buy just a single thing with 'Willa, you should buy Christmas gift for your mom and dad.'
Wednesday ignored her as she placed her hands on the jacket pocket. She touches something hard, then she recalls the camera she had earlier seen. She's looking at Enid, who was still facing away from the smaller girl and appeared to be enjoying the candy's aromas.
Then Wednesday pauses briefly. It's not that she is afraid to perform something that is very simple; rather, she feels as though something is pulling on her chest and pleading with her ribs for release. It's horrible.
Naturally, her intrusive thinking triumphed this time, so she hurriedly grabbed the camera and snapped a picture to capture her joyful roommate who was bouncing while holding the cart. Enid was too preoccupied with the candies in front of her, for her to notice the camera clicking.
Despite the cool weather and the air conditioning, her heart felt so hot that it almost wanted to burst from the way it was beating so fiercely. Wednesday hurriedly slipped her camera back into her pocket and sighed before Enid could turn around.
That won't happen again. She thought.
With excitement in her eyes, Enid turns around and looks at her. Enid jumping into the pushing cart was Wednesday's first indication that this was a terrible sign. "Push me."
"Enid wh–"
"Push me."
Enid was still grinning at Wednesday while she was in the cart as Wednesday stood there for a brief period of time just staring at her. She was unable to feel her feet and was unable to hear anything. Like she is simply stuck.
She's just stuck there.
"Come on, Willa please?"
"Fine."
Enid squeals, and Wednesday wants to scream, wants to shout, wants to cry and say 'Your childish behavior is stupid; it makes me hate you more.'
But of course she did the opposite, remaining composed as she gently pushed the cart. It was pretty heavy to the person sitting in it, but it didn't matter. While keeping quiet and humming, she scans the space without focusing on Enid.
Wednesday has a reputation for maintaining a long eye contacts, even teachers avoiding her. It seems as though the abyss and the darkness are consuming you. Because of how unsettling and frightening it is, Wednesday enjoys gazing into people's skulls.
She finds it amusing how a mere stare can make them feel uneasy and distressed.
Fortunately, she has long since finished her career. She was defeated in the art of maintaining eye contact, thus she would much rather be buried alive than get swept away by blue waves that are obviously threatening.
Like a storm is coming and torturing her as she is aboard a boat in the middle of the ocean. Although she enjoys agony, storms, and anything dark, but this– this cannot be allowed.
As soon as they leave the market, the aroma of lavender and the brisk autumn air immediately engulf Wednesday. If people were to look at them, they'd probably think 'oh what a married couple' or 'they're girlfriends' because they are not but they look like one but they are exactly not.
Before they return to their room, Enid suggests Wednesday getting a coffee. They are sitting next to the large window when the scent of coffee and pastries immediately fills the room. There are several individuals just walking around in between the thick snowfall. The focus of Wednesday's attention was once again on Enid, who was seated in front of her and grinning broadly. "Well, what do you want to buy?"
"Black coffee. Take the sugar out. Just pure black. Nothing else."
"That sounds genuinely terrifying."
"Thank you."
Enid sprang to her feet right away and made a hasty move in the direction of the counter. Wednesday's eyes were drawn to the blonde girl who was pacing there so casually, and she couldn't resist it. She was aware that several observers who were lazing around outside were looking at her. Even though Wednesday is unable to express how much she blames them, she also does not want Enid to be viewed in that light.
Her heart starts to beat anew as everything goes away. When Wednesday abruptly pressed the camera button once again, she regained consciousness. She stops breathing, looks aside, and sits up straight before hurriedly shoving the camera back into her pocket with a gulp.
Wednesday realized she was in trouble. She was aware that what she was going through was obviously inappropriate for her. She simply wants to hurl Enid into the deep snow and bury her there. She also wants to poke her eyes so she can no longer look at Enid. Finally, she wants to rip her clothing off and tear up her chest so she can seize the throbbing organ inside. She didn't like it as it hurt slowly.
When Enid got there, she set the food on the table. She sits in her chair and looks at Wednesday. Enid asks, "You okay?" as Wednesday sighs again, this time turning to face her before looking away once more. "I suppose."
Although Enid was obviously perplexed by Wednesday's recent behavior, she chose to ignore it.
"Is it because you're going to miss me?" Enid joke and Wednesday snorted while drinking her coffee. "Keep dreaming, Enid. I can't wait to be without you." The blonde laugh then take a bite of her cheesecake. Wednesday just look at her then Enid look back.
"What?"
"That's seems too sweet. You could develop diabetes."
"Come on, I eat things sweeter than this and I didn't even get any symptoms. Not even scratches."
"What an awful news to hear then."
"You need try it." Enid grins.
"You need to get lost." Wednesday said as Enid chuckles. "Don't be a grump today, Wednesday."
"No, I won't. I'd rather eat bugs than have to eat that thing."
"Says the one who drinks a coffee without sugar."
Wednesday look down at her coffee. "What about it?"
"That's literally the weirdest thing I saw today. I bet that taste too bitter." Enid chuckles and drinks her cappuccino. She took another mouthful of her cheesecake before Wednesday resumed just watching her.
After a few minutes, she swears to everyone that she wants to grab the camera that is concealed behind her garments, take a picture of Enid, and show it in her room.
"You.. Would you like to try it?" Wednesday's eyes widened as she realized what she had just asked. After witnessing her roommate stop eating, Wednesday swore to everyone that she had just witnessed Enid stop breathing. The warm sensations in her cheek returned.
"I mean.. only if you want?"
"Uhm– of course? I guess." Enid drop her fork as she hesitantly grab the black coffee in Wednesday's space. She clear her throat then smell it first. It really smells just pure coffee, just smells like Wednesday.
"I'm not gonna die, am I?" She chuckles nervously.
'get a grip enid it's just a coffee.'
'just a coffee.'
'but it's wednesday's coffee.'
'her lips tasted this.'
'come on it doesn't mean anything.'
'is that mean I'm going to kiss her indirectly?'
Too many thoughts running to her mind as she swallowed the lump in her throat. "You don't need to try it. If you don't want." Wednesday says still sitting across Enid formally. Enid sigh and put the cup down, she push her cheesecake to Wednesday and look at her eyes. It's the same color of her coffee.
Well if Enid have a chance to describe Wednesday as a food, she's surely a coffee without a sugar. Maybe a little bit of sugar for her soft side. Just a little bit.
"Only if you say you want to try my cheesecake."
"Are you challenging me?"
"I mean if you see it that way then yes."
"As an Addams, I don't simply backing off to challenges."
"But I thought you don't like it?"
After that, Wednesday remained silent and simply shoved a spoonful of cheesecake into her mouth, leaving Enid speechless. Wednesday hums in amazement at the flavors that are currently mingling in her mouth, and Wednesday overhears her gasp. Blueberry flavor, smooth like, and sweet. Just the right amount of sweetness for her tastes.
"Did you just eat that? With my spoon too?"
"What do you want me to do? Eat it with my hands?" Wednesday shrugs as she lick her lips to get the flavor of cheesecake again and push it back to Enid. "Take a sip. We have a deal."
Enid was forced to drink the coffee. The liquid is hot and devoid of the sugar she likes, as well as being excessively bitter, but she didn't spit it out when it slipped into her mouth. She only observed Wednesday, who had a little smile on her face and was gazing at her lips. Enid squeezes her eyes shut as she endures the pure agony of black coffee without sugar
Wednesday ridiculed her, "Explain to me what's the taste of it." Enid needs to eat another slice of cheesecake to get rid of the aftertaste, which has her on the verge of tears.
"God, the taste is definitely not it. How can you even call a coffee 'coffee' without a sugar?"
"Because it has coffee. If you're able to taste my mother's coffee, base on my calculations, you will get a high chance of abdominal pain or worse, die."
"Bet your family's coffee is not like ordinary coffee that you can buy in grocery stores, no?"
"Exactly."
"That's strange."
Wednesday hums in amusement. "Thank you." She took a sip again. "Would you like to tak–"
"No, thank you. I'm fine." Enid says in excuse that makes Wednesday have the urge to tease her more.
They lapsed into a relaxed state of stillness, which was everything Wednesday could have wished for. She wants to ask Enid questions, but itches in her throat - it's too comfy. Maybe anything as long as she is talking.
"We have been friends for half a year now. I haven't asked any small questions about you." Wednesday said as she glance at Enid, it's really too much. "Shoot." Enid says as she finished her plate of cheesecake. She set it aside and wipe her mouth with the tissue. "For how many times we are together, I didn't get a chance to ask your favorite color."
Enid beams. She's always smiling at Wednesday, and all Wednesday has done is stare into her eyes. The goth girl was aware that Enid liked bright colors, but she was unsure of what hue she actually preferred. Could be anything—pink, yellow, dazzling generalities.
Enid sips her coffee and says, "Orange." This time it left a trace on her lips that almost makes Wednesday chuckle.
Almost.
"You have.." she motions her hand.
Enid looks at her in confusion as she touch her lips. "Is it gone?"
"No."
"Is it now?"
Wednesday sigh as she grab her black handkerchief without any doubt as she lean forward to wipe the excess.
"Oh–oh. Thank you." A pink shade once more taints the cheeks of the blonde girl as she whispers. The handkerchief Wednesday uses to wipe her lips is excessively soft and has a strong scent of her. Possibly too cautious as well.
It's quite strange for Enid that Wednesday is acting in this way. She is becoming confused since it is too sensitive and caring. She didn't want to push the girl above her comfort level though as she was thinking about something. Perhaps Wednesday was acting in this manner because it is Christmas.
But Wednesday despises Christmas.
For her, it's a significant concern because she can't seem to ignore it. She feels bigger than ever. Even though it's breaking her heart, she didn't want to lose Wednesday. Instead, she is convincing herself that Wednesday was acting in a friendly way. Nothing further.
"The next time, carry your own handkerchief considering tissues in public areas are typically filthy and you didn't know where they came from."
Enid shushed her as she giggled, "They'll hear us." Wednesday remained silent, seemingly unaffected by the idea that the manager might have heard them. "I'm virtually telling the truth, despite the fact I know it will bruise their ego."
"Yeah? Should I bring my own cup as well ma'am since I don't know where they got it?"
"Precisely. There's a chance they just rinse it without using any soap."
"Stop giving me such thoughts; they are making me sick."
"Should we leave, then?"
Enid asks incredulously as Wednesday smiles, "You really say that because you want to leave?" Although it's not really a smile because Enid didn't even realize it, she does indeed appear to be grinning. "I see no reason why I shouldn't use that as an excuse to leave this unsettling place."
Back at the dorm, they are now strolling. The roommates continue to walk back despite the increasing amount of snow, which had reached knee level. They just ended up walking back to Nevermore after Enid played the 'why don't we just take a bus?' card and Wednesday countered with the 'you should save your money.' card.
Snow is all throughout, even in Enid's hair, giving her the appearance of a cupcake with white sprinkles on top. Include her cherry-shaped crimson French hat. Even with the snow covering everything, Wednesday couldn't help but take another whiff of the lavender. She thought that it'll probably haunt her in her sleep too.
Enid pauses as she laughs at her own joke and turns to face Wednesday, who has her hands in her pocket and is wearing the same black snood Enid did. "I haven't ask yours." The blonde suddenly say. Wednesday look at her. "What?" Enid look away as they continue walking down the road. "Your favorite color? I mean I know you like dark colors but it's making me think what's your favorite. I know it's probably black–"
"Black is not a color."
"What do you mean? It's a color."
"It's not Enid. You can do better than that."
Enid sigh, "But–"
"Black is not a color, Enid. In scientific way, black is an absence of light. It's a basic topic to learn." Wednesday explain in monotone voice. "Well, in art way, black is considered a color. Don't argue with me." The blonde explains in favor of her position.
"You're being unreasonable. Be logical sometimes."
"Yeah? I think you're the one who should be artistic sometimes."
As Wednesday keeps moving, she sighs. Even though the wind is whispering icily in their ears, it is difficult to ignore the warm atmosphere between them.
She whispers to herself, "Blue." Enid turned to face Wednesday, observing the pale Wednesday's slightly pink cheek and the air that was from her mouth as a result of the temperature. Enid asked in a baffled tone, "Blue? What do you mean?" She hadn't planned Wednesday to appreciate such a color.
"Because.." Wednesday having a hard time to put her words. If she say that to Enid, surely the blonde will freak out.
"Because?"
"The ocean. And.."
'Your eyes.'
"Nevermind. Keep walking I am getting impatient." She said abruptly as her stride changed drastically. Enid was frozen in place, speechless, and not moving. Breathing slowly, she muttered. "My eyes?"
Enid hastily interrupts herself when she catches up to Wednesday.
They don't say a word the entire stroll; Wednesday wasn't even sure what stopped Enid from babbling. Holding the paper bag containing the items she earlier purchased, she simply walks there while holding it to her side. She still has lavender in her throat and nose.
Her heart was once again racing loudly, and she was unsure of what to do. It hurts and annoys.
"The Earth travels around the Sun because of the Sun's gravity. The Sun acts like a magnet and pulls the Earth towards it, just like a magnet attracts a metal object. This causes the Earth to move around the Sun at a very high speed. This is why the Earth circles around the Sun every year." The prolonged period of silence between them was abruptly broken by Wednesday.
Enid hums as the smaller girl observes how her shoulder has relaxed. "Is that a random fact again?" The blonde ask. Wednesday give her a small shrug. "Maybe."
"I feel that you really know everything. It's making me wonder sometimes if there are things that you are not capable of."
Wednesday held her camera tightly in her pocket and dared not look at her. Wednesday developed in a highly diverse environment. She has a large collection of books about everything in the mortal world and in other dimensions, which are on display around their manor.
She was capable of anything and knew everything.
Then, though, Enid made her understand that she is not like that. that she is obviously ignorant of several subjects. She came to understand because of Enid that she is just a normal human being who is alive and breathing. She is not the superhero or mind reader that everyone dreams of being.
She's just a girl. A teenager. A student. A daughter. A human.
Hurting. Alive. Full of thoughts. In love.
"Maybe there's some." She whisper. Enid nods as she gave her a big smile. "That's okay. Everyone is not good at some particular things."
"Even me. There's too many things I am not capable of."
"Such as?"
"Don't know. Mayber cooking? Driving? Or like something complicated." Enid laughs and Wednesday sigh in contentment.
Enid draws nearer to her- simply touching each other's shoulder as they pause on a snow-filled chair. While cleaning the chair, Enid sat down and gave Wednesday a firm place to sit next to her. They both remained silent the entire time.
As a small bit of sunlight peeks through the clouds, they turn to face the distant tall woods.
Opening her phone, Enid connected her headset. She eyed Wednesday with intrigue. "Want to listen to music?"
"What kind?"
"Have you heard about Steve Lacy?"
"Yes. I am not living in cave." Enid simply laughed at her and offered Wednesday the left side of the headset. When the fainted song began to play, Enid was moving her feet back and forth clearly happy while listening to Infrunami, her favorite music ever since she split up with Ajax.
Wednesday unwinded to the tune, which is obviously the kind she will detest. Her heartbeat is so audible that it almost sounds like the song's background noise. She sighs and turns to face Enid, who was obviously having a good time. Wednesday believes Enid is also blushing. It stands to reason that Wednesday did too. She takes her hand from her pocket since it is uncomfortably warm and places her right hand next to Enid's left.
The blonde is undoubtedly shocked by this as she looks at Wednesday right away with excessive emotion in her eyes. As Wednesday breaks her gaze to return to the trees, she glances at their intertwined hands.
"Lavender is a member of the Lamiaceae family, which includes herbs like basil, mint and rosemary. It originated in the Mediterranean region and has since been grown in many parts of the world. It was first recorded in ancient Egypt around 2500 BC and was used for its fragrance and medicinal properties." When Wednesday feels her hand being squeezed, she stops.
It looks like the climax is approaching as the songs continue to play.
"Lavender also has a profound meaning in the language of flowers, which symbolizes devotion and loyalty. It is also believed that lavender has a calming and soothing effect that can help reduce stress and anxiety, which can be beneficial in promoting harmony and peace within a relationship." She continue.
When Enid didn't say anything, Wednesday squeeze her hand back and talk again.
"You don't have to say anything. I just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you."
As Wednesday arrived in front of their manor, it is already Christmas vacation. Since Morticia knew it was Wednesday, she flung open the door and greeted her daughter while holding the two doorknobs.
"My darling, how are–"
She saw two people. Wednesday and a blonde girl, she seems familiar. And they're holding hands. And her daughter is blushing while looking shy. And the blonde girl too.
"Af-afternoon, Mrs. Addams."
"Hello, mother. It's frightening to see you again. Enid will spend her Christmas break with us. She will sleep in my room and make sure she feels at ease around the manor."
Before Morticia could respond, Wednesday dragged Enid inside as they ascended the stairs and shut the door to her own chamber.
"Oh, my stormcloud."
