This Night Is Flawless Don't You Let It Go

Summary:

Jimin allows herself to get lost in the way Giselle makes her feel.

Notes:

100% inspired by Taylor Swift's Enchanted. I've had it stuck in my head for a few days and I've wanted to rewrite this other fic I have on here and finally got around to doing so. So if it looks familiar, it's a rewrite <3. Not my best work, there might be an edit in the future, but I hope u enjoy.

Work Text:

Giselle's breath hitched at the sight of Jimin descending the stairs. Her hair was styled perfectly, and her dress a beautiful deep blue. Giselle assumed Ms. Jo, who Jimin had grown quite close to over their volunteer time, lent her one of her many dresses.

She only had a few moments to collect herself before Jimin stood before her, a shy smile spreading across her lips. Taking her hand, Giselle places a gentle kiss on the back of it, pulling her closer to whisper how beautiful she looks, as if it were a secret.

Jimin looks down, biting her lip to stop herself from grinning. A light blush dusts her cheeks. "Lead the way?" Giselle grins and offers the girl her arm.

The ballroom is beautiful. From the artwork to the chandeliers to the food, everything is perfect. Jimin comments on this, and Giselle agrees, but she's not looking at the room.

Soft music surrounds them. Giselle offers Jimin her hand, jokingly asking for her first dance. Jimin rolls her eyes playfully, letting the girl whisk her away to the dance floor.

They dance their night away, both so immersed in the other at times, drowning out the jealous comments and stares around them. Giggling now and then when they come back around, hearing whispers about how well they move together.

A warm feeling envelops Jimin. Realizing that no one here thinks any less of them for enjoying each other gives her a feeling like no other. It feels liberating knowing nobody here is going to judge her for who she loves.

Love.

Her smile falters a little when she thinks about it. It's scary, to fall in love with someone who might not feel the same. She's not sure what she'd do if she left this heartbroken.

All of her doubts fade the second she looks up into Giselle's eyes. Her gaze was filled with nothing short of love and admiration.

"Do you want to go somewhere a little more quiet?" Giselle offers, and Jimin nods. "I could use some air." Jimin lets the girl take her by the hand once more, leading her away from the crowd dancing around them. Questioning eyes follow them as they exit.

They're walking hand in hand through the hallways of the mansion. A comfortable silence surrounded them along with the muffled music. Jimin's looking straight ahead but she can feel Giselle's eyes on her.

Giselle makes her feel comfortable, in ways no one else has ever been able to. Jimin never realized how much she needed someone like Giselle. Who, so far, has looked past every flaw. Hasn't judged her for anything. Someone who hasn't expected the world of her.

"I had a lot of fun tonight. Thank you for making it special." Giselle laughs. "You say that like you're ending our time together. I'd hoped I could keep your attention for a little longer."

"You can have me for however long you want then." The words slip out so easily. Giselle grins, leading her to a glass door that reveals the back garden.

Jimin gasps excitedly when she sees the snow falling outside. "You wanna go make some snow angels?" Giselle asks. Jimin's eyes light up, "Are you crazy? Of course, I do!"

They run around for what feels like hours.

After a few snowball fights, snow angels, and a heated competition on who can catch the most flakes on their tongues later, they collapse into the soft snow. The cold night air finally settling into their bones does nothing to stop their laughter.

Giselle is the first to break the silence, "You know..." Jimin looks over at her. Forcing herself to pay attention instead of getting lost in just how stunning the girl looks surrounded by snow. "They say if you witness the first snowfall with the person you like, true love will blossom and it will be long-lasting."

A beat of silence.

"Are you saying you like me, Giselle?"

"Do you think I would have asked you to spend the night with me if I didn't?"

Jimin shakes her head. No, she doesn't think Giselle would have asked her to spend her night with her if she wasn't serious about her feelings. Jimin might have been oblivious for a little, but Giselle was never good at hiding her emotions. Her eyes have always given her away.

"I just want to thank you again for making this night special." Giselle chuckles.

"You already thanked me for that."

"Well then let me thank you for everything else?" Giselle's heart skips a beat when she sees Jimin moving closer to her, bringing her hand to brush away a few stray hairs from her face. Jimin flicks her gaze from Giselle's lips to her eyes, silently asking for permission. Giselle nods.

Their lips ghost over each other for a few seconds before Giselle surges forward and swallows the hitch of Jimin's breath with a kiss.

"That's one hell of a thank you," Giselle teases breathlessly as they pull away. Jimin slaps her shoulder. "Like you didn't enjoy it." And for the first time tonight, a deep blush spreads across Giselle's cheeks.
