Mumbo, Grian, Scar and Stella are packing up for a trip to the beach. Mumbo's packing the essentials, spf 100 sunscreen (since vampires easily get sunburnt), beach towels, a beach umbrella and buckets and spades. Scar is packing food and drinks for an evening picnic, and once they'd packed everything in the car's bonnet, they drove to the beach.
Once they'd arrived at the beach, they got out of the car with the stuff they'd packed and went searching for a suitable spot to set up. Scar stuck the umbrella up in the sand, while Mumbo laid down the picnic basket and beach towels. Grian was helping Stella put on sunscreen and her pool floaties. Scar decided that it was a good time to take off his shirt and put on some sunglasses. Grian eye-rolled at Scar flexing his muscles while Mumbo might've stared at his pecs a bit too long before continuing to put sunscreen on himself.
In the distance, Pearl, Cleo and Joe were setting up a volleyball net before asking Scar if he'd like to join them. Scar agreed and headed out towards the three of them. Meanwhile, Grian with pool donuts at hand, lead Stella with him towards the water, dipping their feet in it to see that it was cold. Grian and Stella eventually went into the water, Stella splashing water at her mother before Grian retaliated.
While Grian and Stella were swimming and Scar playing volleyball, Mumbo decided to stay under the shade, watching Scar play from afar. Mumbo didn't notice that he was staring at his husband when Iskall suddenly surprised him by calling him out on it. Mumbo flushed at the embarrassment of getting caught staring at his husband, but with such a well-toned body, who wouldn't?
After a while, Grian and Stella returned, Mumbo helping Stella get the pool floaties off her and drying her off with a towel. Scar also returned from the game, telling them that he and Pearl won. Stella then pointed out an ice cream van nearby and asked her parents for ice cream. They agreed and walked over to the ice cream van. Mumbo got strawberry ice cream, Stella and Grian got popsicles and Scar got a cat-shaped ice cream sandwich. Returning to their setup, frozen treats, at hand, they sat down and ate.
Once they finished, Stella noticed her friend, Katy, with her brother Corneel walking towards them. Corneel also brought his friends, Kerilson, Doccy, and his brother Henry (Doccy's brother). They wanted her to join in on them building sandcastles. Scar handed her her bucket and spade and saw her running after her friends to a nearby spot. The adults meanwhile decided to also build sandcastles, betting each other on who'd make the best sandcastles.
The adults split themselves up into four teams, with Zedaph and Bdubs acting as judges. The first team has Grian, Scar and Ren in it. The second one has Tango, Impulse and Pearl teamed up. The third team has Cleo, Joel and Gem and the fourth team has Keralis, Doc and Etho. Xb, Beef and Mumbo are on the sidelines, cheering everyone up.
The kids meanwhile decided on building a whole sand city. Doccy and Corneel are building the walls enclosing the city. while Keril and Henry dig up a moat surrounding the city. Katy and Stella started working on the buildings, houses here, the town hall here, a school there, crabs were also there, checking out the buildings they'd made. They used sticks, rocks and shells to decorate the buildings.
Later on, the sand castle building competition is concluded, with Cleo Joe and Gem declared the winners, Scar, Grian and Ren second, Tango, Impulse and Pearl being third and Doc, Keralis and Etho last. The kids also finished building their sand city, complete with all the necessities for its crabby inhabitants. The adults compliment and praised their construction, the kids cheering at their achievement.
As the sun starts to set, Everyone returned to their setups to watch the sunset. Mumbo took out the sandwiches they'd packed and gave them to Grian, Scar and Stella, giving one to himself. They eat in silence watching the sun sinking under the horizon, a beautiful orange glow covering the sky and ocean.
Once the sun set, they started packing their stuff up. Scar put his shirt back on, Mumbo closing the beach umbrella and Grian packed their stuff into the basket, before heading back towards the car. Scar drove the car back home while Stella slept in her mother's lap, tired from all the fun things they did at the beach.
