Chapter Text
Tingyun and Caelus were sitting on a hill, engaging in small talk.
As she was an amicassador and Caelus a Nameless, they rarely got the chance to hang out together, even lesser than Caelus’ other friends. Secretly, they both enjoyed each other’s company, and banter made them quick friends.
He hoped that they wouldn’t only be friends, though. Secretly, he wanted to date Tingyun. He had fallen in love with her fluffy ears, her cute gesture, and her soft and comfy tail. However, he knew that their obligations, as well as space, would limit the chance for dating and harm their relationship. Despite the challenges faced, he still felt they could still be a couple.
The bigger question would be, does she want to be my girlfriend? He thought, I don’t want to push her, if she declines, I would be left without a close and good friend by my side. Also, things would be awkward every time I see her from then on.
Therefore, he never asked her.
She also had a secret crush on him. At first, she had enjoyed his company, and quickly became friends with Caelus. It had started since their third meeting, when she noticed that she was looking forward to the next time they met more and more often, but she dismissed it as her finally having a friend that could relate to her trips to other planets.
By the fifth time they met, she realised that she enjoyed hearing him talk, and invariably she began to smile whenever talking to him. At that moment she realised she had a crush on him, and stopped denying it to herself.
At the seventh time they met, during one of their usual conversations, he brought up her fox ears and fox tail. Although Caelus didn’t seem too fazed by her tail, she wondered if he secretly felt disturbed by it. Her tail was attractive to most natives onboard the Xianzhou Luofu, but does that include him? She drew a deep breath, and asked him if he wanted to touch her tail.
“So, benefactor, if you’re curious about how foxian tails feel, why don’t you touch mine? It’s gonna be the fluffiest you’ve ever felt~” She said.
“Sure, since you said it was fine.” Caelus gently reached down to touch her tail. Gosh, it’s so fluffy and soft… No wonder enemies always want to attack her! She’s taunting them with this alluring tail of hers.
Motivated by his actions, Tingyun decides to push a bit further, saying, “Do you wish to lay your head down on it, benefactor? You could do so if you wish to.”
“Really? I’ll take you up on that offer,” Caelus responds, blushing, hoping that she wouldn’t see his blush that was covering most of his face. Thankfully, she was facing away, so he slowly and carefully laid his head down onto her tail. Unbeknownst to him, however, she was also furiously blushing as well.
The moment he laid his head down, Caelus was enveloped in a soft but comfortable warmth. Tingyun’s tail was also cold and cooling, kind of like how dream pillows are soft on both sides.
Man, pillows will never feel the same after this, Caelus thought, this is infinitely more soft and comfy.
“Thanks, benefactor. I’d have you know that this is the most beautiful tail there is on the Xianzhou.” Tingyun replied.
Huh? Looks like I accidentally said that out loud. Caelus thinks.
“It certainly is.” He replies to her.
This time, even though he can’t see her face, he knows that she’s blushing.
