Elijah had always been ostracized for a number of reasons throughout his life, but one of the most notable was his Tourette's.
People in school would tease him for his tics because no one else had it, and it brought him a deep sense of shame along with it.
He carried that shame with him into the Omens, but Jimothy and the others... Never commented on it. It was weird. It was almost like they didn't even notice it. But they didn't have tics.
"Jimothy" he said to the big man one day at the end of training, quite early into his time there. Jimothy turned and looked at him.
"Hm?"
"This is kinda random but, uh..." he trailed off into an awkward chuckle. His neck jerked. "You know I have Tourette's, right?"
"Yeah" Jimothy nodded. "What about it?"
"You don't... Mind?" Elijah asked and Jimothy smiled, which slightly unnerved Elijah but it was very genuine.
"Everyone has something, Elijah. Especially us Bads" he replied, patting the boy on the shoulder. "None of us mind" he assured. "If anyone gives you any trouble, fuck 'em up" he continued. "Or tell me and I'll fuck 'em up for you"
"Thanks..."
"Don't mention it"
