Chapter Text

To be fair, Rei only brought the wine, the rest was Wataru’s fault. The quintet formerly known as the “Five Eccentrics” had their monthly get together at one of Shu’s houses, planning to stay over and have what the youngsters called a sleepover. Rei brought a bottle of wine, a typical party gift, especially now that the majority of the Eccentrics had graduated. Was it technically underage drinking? Possibly. This particular group however, did not get the opportunity to partake in activities like such during their school days. So, Rei brought wine. 

Unfortunately, Rei failed to take into account that the Eccentrics were extremely bad drunks. With the bottle open and a few glasses poured, the five crowded in Shu’s living room were in a situation indeed. 

“Nope,” Rei swatted Natsume’s hand reaching for the bottle, “Little one, you are still in school, wait a few more years.” 

Natsume gave a pout and sat back down on the sofa. Rei gave the youngest some sparkling grape juice as compensation. 

Was Rei sober? Of course, he was the oldest (and wisest). A few glasses was nothing to him, automatically putting him on chaperone duty. The others however…

Kanata was giggling like an absolute madman, Wataru was, uh, a mess to say the least, and Shu, well, Shu was being Shu. 

Surprisingly, even with half of their party being intoxicated, they were carrying understandable conversations. Kanata was excitedly describing his recent performances with Ryusetai, while Shu reminisced about his journey to Europe. Natsume had been making astonishing progress with Switch and Wataru was doing well in his acting career. 

Rei could not stop himself from feeling like a proud parent, his underclassmen had become successful on their own paths. 

Somewhere halfway into the conversation, Wataru opened his mouth. 

“Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you all,” Wataru was smiling drunkenly , “I’m dating Eichi Tenshouin, isn’t that Amazing!”

The silence that followed was enormous. Rei put his face in his hands.

“What, the fuck,” Shu said, as the other Eccentrics opened their mouths. 

Wataru was basically pounced on with questions. The man himself was just heartily laughing off the entire interrogation. 

“He’s ~gone~ insane~” Kanata said with a smile, “Cheers~to~ that!” 

He clinked glasses with Natsume, who furiously drank his whole drink in one go. 

“WHAT THE HELL WATARU NII-SAN WE KNOW YOU AREN’T THE BRIGHTEST PERSON ON EARTH BUT I EXPECTED YOU TO AT LEAST FIGURE OUT THAT DATING EICHI TENSHOUIN—

“How? Why? Is your family being held hostage? Is he blackmailing you?” Shu interjected amidst Natsume’s tirade, grabbing Wataru’s hands in concern. 

Wataru laughed again, his eyes blasting signs for help when looking at Rei. 

Rei only took a slow sip of his wine, watching the rest of the Eccentrics go ‘batshit wild’ as Ritsu would have said. Was this petty revenge for that time he caught Wataru and Tenshouin having sex in his dorm room a few days ago? Yes. Yes it was. 

Chapter Text

“Sakuma-senpai, why am I still here?” 

Stars, it was 9 am in the morning, why were all members of the Five Eccentrics in their dorm! Why were they full on threatening Eichi with murder? Why were they so loud! And…vaguely hungover? 

Aira needed to go back to sleep, this had to be just a weird fever dream. Normally Aira would have been jumping at the chance to meet that famous quintet of Yumenosaki past but he had a sinking feeling that if he got involved right now, Aira would end up with a headache. 

“Seriously Sakuma-senpai, what is going on? I don’t mean to be rude but my beauty sleep is in shambles because of this,” Aira asked his senior who was dozing off on the floor. 

Rei cracked open an eye. 

“Last night…I am afraid an intoxicated Wataru revealed that he was in a relationship with Tenshouin, leading my companions to demand to see him as soon as possible for an interrogation of sorts,” 

Aira almost facepalmed right there and then.  

A shovel talk? Right now? Right here in a dorm room? Did no one realize that Aira was just here watching everything happen? 

Aira wasn’t an idiot; he knew that Eichi had history with almost everyone, especially this quintet. He lived with Eichi and Rei, that alone gave him first row seats to the drama! No wonder the Eccentrics were pouncing on Eichi. 

Aira sighed, resigning himself into watching this debacle. The unwelcome guests probably wouldn’t leave for another hour. Wow, he had so much to tell the other Alkaloid members today. 

“WHAT ARE YOU PLANNING TO DO TO NII-SAN, YOU—

Natsume Sakasaki, leader of Switch. 

“After everything you did to him, you dare to do something like this! Non, we refuse to stand by and watch—

Shu Itsuki, leader of Valkyrie. 

“If you ‘ever’ hurt him~ I’ll drown you~in the nearby fountain~” 

Kanata Shinkai, unofficial mother of Ryusetai. 

Aira blinked. Where was Wataru? 

A banging noise came from inside the broom closet, huh, there he was. 

Aira had to admire Eichi for still smiling throughout being screamed at and interrogated at. Aira would probably have begun to panic at that point. He watched as Eichi calmly stood up with a placating look on his face. The three Eccentrics gave a glare, but became silent. 

“I understand your concerns, and they are completely understandable. I know what I did and I will not shy away from admitting my actions.” 

Aira could see Eichi’s calm facade breaking a little. Ah, his senior was going to speak from the heart. 

“ I am the person who knows best that I do not deserve Wataru’s love. But believe me, Wataru’s love is the most precious of all that I have achieved. I want to be by his side for as long as he wants me, no strings attached.” 

Eichi bowed his head, making everyone in the room widen their eyes. 

“I know that you all care for Wataru as a dear friend, but please,” 

Aira could see that Eichi’s blue eyes were sparkling.

“Give me a chance to be worthy of Wataru.” 

“Damn,” Rei whistled, “Tenshouin almost made me approve of him.” 

Aira agreed, Eichi’s eloquence could not be matched. Aira could feel the ghosts of happy tears arriving. He felt like he was watching a romance movie. Aira knew he was secretly a romantic at heart—

BAM!

 (Aira covered his mouth before he could scream) 

The door to the broom closet was kicked open, revealing Wataru Hibiki in all his glory. He leapt straight to Eichi, twirling the other man close and kissing him deeply. Aira could see that both had tears forming in their eyes. 

“Also,” Eichi addressed the room while still wrapped in Wataru’s embrace, “Wataru and I eloped a few days ago. So, unfortunately you can not split us apart without legal procedures, meaning whatever arguments you may have is invalid,” 

Eichi gave a shit-eating grin, re-igniting the flurry of chaos. 

“Elopement? When, how— 

Shu frantically grabbed a dazed Wataru for interrogation. 

“What’s elopeMENT?” Aira saw Natsume whisper to Kanata. 

“Marriage~without~parent permission,” 

Aira’s eyes widened. 

“Wait, Tenshouin-senpai!” He said loudly, “Is that what the paper on the wall means?” 

(“How long has that kid beeN THERE?” Natsume asked in confusion) 

Aira pointed at the framed document Eichi had randomly put up days ago. 

Eichi nodded, looking perplexed. 

“That’s our marriage license, we didn’t have any ceremony to avoid the public and just went straight to the government building,” 

(“NO WEDDING! BLASPHEMY!” Aira heard Shu yell in the background) 

“Wait,” Eichi frowned, “What did you think that paper was?” 

Aira and Rei looked at each other. 

“I thought it was a diploma,” Rei replied.
