"JACK IS ALWAYS ALONE WITH RUSTY!"
Mackenzie Cried out. The energetic border collie turned to his circle of friends.
"Lets make a plan to stop rusty from stealing jack."
"Simply put we just want to eat together with him." An annoyed bluey trailed behind him as she places a hand behind jack.
"W..wait a minute guys!" Jack, taken by surprise now surrounded by a trio of dogs
"What's wrong? Still got something to do?"
Asked snickers who was just catching up behind the three.
"Oh...um...not really." Jack turned away meekly and allows himself to be dragged by the group of dogs to come and eat lunch.
Meanwhile a lone Rusty kelpie sits on a staircase leading to the school rooftop eating his lunch expecting somebody to come but never arrived.
"Where did he go? What happened?"
The curious kelpie goes down to look at the classroom only to see it empty. His ears pick up the slight sound of familiar voices as he looks towards it, there he sees Jack along with mackenzie's group of friends.
Rusty standing only a few meters from the group feels like a mile in his head.
"It's true we didn't promise anything, but we've always met at noon everyday right?"
His train of thought gets the better of him
"I know he's allowed to hang out with whoever he wants but why...why does it hurt"
The day passes as rusty is once again at the staircase by the rooftop, finding the area to be his place of solitude away from the bustling of students. Mackenzie spots him lying on the floor deep in thought.
"Rusty..."
Rusty breaks away from his train of thought and glares at mackenzie
"That threatening aura won't work mate, i just have something to tell you"
Rusty sits up and faces mackenzie still glaring at him.
"Well...we didn't know that you two eat together all the time. We just invited him to lunch but he felt really uncomfortable, so i came here to apologize instead"
Rusty's face softens up not feeling any anger towards his classmate anymore
"Though it's a shame that he had it tough at home! He's been being pushed a lot cuz he always had a hard time studying!" I also heard that his mom and dad are....."
The conversation trails off as rusty feels his blood boiling from the sudden revelations being blurted out by the border collie
"Why didn't he tell me this, why didn't he tell me about his parents. I want to know...i want to know his life. His home, his parents"
Once again rusty's train of thought gets the better of him as his anger rises, knocking a nearby desk out of his way leaving the rambling border collie speechless. Rusty said no words as he slowly walked down the stairs back to their classrooms.
On his way down he bumps into Jack, holding his bag, noticing rusty going down the stairs he walked to him
"Rusty!-
"You're back.." he was cut off by Rusty "Not enough time after school to put into studying?"
The statement catching Jack off guard causing the russell to shiver and rapidly tap his feet on the floor
"n..no..yes." Jack tries to keep himself together " I didn't mean to spend so much time..but after being dragged into lunch with the others to eat-
"Oh." Rusty said indifferently, the hint of pain and anger in his voice can be heard. "forget it."
Rusty walks into the empty classroom with Jack trailing behind. "We never promised anything"
"I wanted to see. If you'll come to me. For you to turn them down, so we could've had fun talking together instead...." He thought as his anger starts to show
"Tell me, Jack. You told them didn't you. You can tell me that being with me is boring."
"No its not!...i intended to apologize-
"IF YOURE GOING TO DO IT THEN HURRY UP AND GET IT OVER WITH" Rusty cuts him off with a heavy slam of his bag to an open desk
"I...i'm sorry" is the only thing that came out of Jack's mouth
"I dont understand...what Jack likes, what he's like at home...the apology.. i dont know what the others know...why must i hear it from them and not Jack...and yet.." Rusty faces jack with a stern look on his face wanting to know the truth
"Did you tell them, your secret? When you told me not to tell anyone? Yet you told them so casually? You made a promise didn't you?"
The sound of footsteps can be heard as Rusty slowly approaches jack
"Your condition was a secret between you and me. Will you tell me the reason why is it only me you told?"
Rusty cant hold his anger anymore as he approaches Jack, in sheer frustration he grabbed him and bit his neck
"Rusty...it hurts"
Jack's plea cannot be heard as Rusty brings his weight down on jack causing them to fall on to a desk. Rusty pinning jack's arms as he nuzzles his cheek on the russell's neck.
"Damn it...i cant stop...the scent of the others.."
Rusty rubs his cheek aggressively on Jack's neck marking his scent on him.
"Mine....mine..mine.. MINE...My jack....."
"STOP!"
Rusty's thoughts was cut off by Jack completely flustered, angry and disheveled. Still being pinned down by the kelpie.
"Wh...why are you doing this?" Jack pleaded almost in tears.
Rusty couldn't find the answer. He can't think straight. Being driven by only nothing but his pure emotions
"It's because of YOU!"
The sudden outburst brought Jack to tears as a free hand grabs the kelpie's sleeve attempting to break free from his grip
"Because...I'm not like everyone else?
"..huh?" Before rusty could even process his response, Jack shoves him away picking his bag up and runs out of the room leaving the kelpie all alone.
"What have i done..."
