Summary:

Recently married, unpacking Sebastian's things as he moves into the farmhouse takes an unexpected turn when a suspicious looking "vase" turns up in one of his boxes.

Notes:

Long story short after you marry Sebastian he keeps a “vase” that looks suspiciously like a bong on his side of the room after he moves into the farmhouse. Before you marry him, Robin might mention she once found an ashtray in his room in the basement that smelled weird and asks if she should be concerned about it. I put two and two together and this was inspired by the brain rot that brought on.

This is so self indulgent but I'm not sorry lol. This is what happens when you base your farmer on your most beloved oc :')

“Oh, that?” Sebastian stuttered, nearly dropping the box in his hands. “Um… it’s a vase. Yeah, I collect flowers to display sometimes. My favorite is- “

He stopped himself and sighed as he set down the box.

“Who am I kidding, you probably already know what that is.”

Xander chuckled as he unwrapped the glassware from its paper packaging.

“Yeah Seb, I do. Did you forget I used to live in the city?” Xander replied, a smirk lilted on his lips as he inspected the item in his hands. “How come I’ve never seen you smoke this until now? We dated for nearly a full year before I proposed.”

Sebastian turned away; his cheeks tinted a light pink. “I wasn’t sure if it was something you were interested in.”

“And if I am?” Xander challenged.

“Then I’d be happy to oblige if you’d like, darling.” Sebastian grinned.

They’d ended up at Sebastian’s favorite old smoke spot later that night, resting against the trunk of the tree near the mountain lake. It was nearing midnight, Sebastian had reasoned, and that he had never been seen here in the years he had spent in this spot.

Xander watched as Sebastian meticulously picked through the bag he had pulled from his pocket, avoiding stray stems, and reaching for a decent sized flower. Satisfied with his find, he glanced up at Xander. “Hand me my grinder, will you?” He asked.

Xander felt his face flush as he nearly fumbled handing the small metal tin to Sebastian, earning a breathy laugh from the man.

“What happened to the confidence city boy? I thought you had done this before?” Sebastian teased him.

Xander elbowed him back, careful not to dislodge the grinder from his hands as he worked. “I said I used to live in the city. I’ve been around this, but never actually… smoked before.” His voice tapered off as he watched Sebastian’s slender hands grind away at the flower inside the tin with ease.

It was easy to get distracted when Xander was fully aware of other things those hands could do. He shook himself out of those thoughts as Sebastian eyed him cautiously as though he knew exactly what his lover was thinking. Seemingly satisfied with the product in his hands, Sebastian opened the bottom of the tin to inspect his handiwork then began to busy himself with packing a bowl.

“Well, I’m honored to be your first then, love.” Sebastian quipped; his focus devoted to packing the glass as he simultaneously searched for the lighter in his pockets.

Xander couldn’t help the startled sound that fell from his lips at the insinuation. Desperate to recover some dignity, he snatched the lighter from the one pocket he knew Sebastian hadn’t checked yet. He had seen him grab the lighter before they left the farm and took advantage of Sebastian’s lapse in memory with a satisfactory huff of breath as he held it back out of reach.

“You won’t be any more of my firsts if you keep this up, love.” Xander playfully mocked the pet name he had been saddled with. Their relationship had always been filled with this back-and-forth banter since Xander had arrived in the valley, and he knew neither of them would trade it for a second. But that didn’t mean a well-needed ribbing wasn’t necessary from time to time.

“If that was true I wouldn’t have this ring on my finger now would I, ducky?” Sebastian grinned as he thumbed the silver hand on his finger. “You love it.”

Xander rolled his eyes as he leaned forward again, planting a quick kiss to his cheek as he placed the lighter in his palm.

“You’re lucky I do.”

Sebastian gave the lighter a cursory flick to test it. It sparked to life, casting his face in a small red glow for a moment before he let go of the trigger letting it die out.

“I feel like a teenager again, smoking out here with you instead of in the coziness of our home. But I figured I’d give you the true delinquent experience for your first time,” Sebastian grinned as he brought the glassware to his lips, hovering the lighter over the bowl and igniting it. He inhaled deeply, drawing smoke up before pulling the bowl and clearing it. He leaned back against the tree as he exhaled the smoke.

Xander shifted nervously as Sebastian’s gaze flickered back to him. “How- “

“Don’t worry, it’s still cherried for you. Come here.” Sebastian interrupted his anxious thought as he leaned closer with the glassware in his hand. “Press your lips to it and inhale. I’ll take care of the rest.”

Xander did as he was told and sealed his lips over the opening of the glass. He watched the red embers in the bowl roar to life again as he mimicked the way Sebastian had inhaled, determined not to be outdone but his own inexperience. He quickly realized he could not hold the smoke for as long and rapidly turned away to exhale before the bowl was even pulled. The smoke burned as it exited his lungs, sending him into a coughing fit that had Sebastian quickly setting down the piece to rub Xander’s back in slow, comforting circles.

“It’s okay baby, ride it out and breathe,” Sebastian murmured and continued the motion as Xander’s coughs slowed and he was able to draw normal breaths again. Xander melted into the touch as he leaned back against him.

“That was terrible,” Xander rasped out. He felt his breath rattle in his chest as a fought to regain control of himself. He frowned as he was met with the stuttering movement of his husband fighting back a chuckle beneath him.

“You can’t expect to outsmoke a smoker on your first try, that was your first mistake.” Sebastian’s teasing tone was somehow a soothing balm to the burn in his chest. “How do you feel now?” He asked.

“I think I’m feeling it a little bit, but I’m fine.” Xander replied, softer than he meant to. He glanced up at the sky and watched as the stars swayed ever so slightly in his vision.

Xander wasn’t sure how long they stayed like that before Sebastian grabbed his shoulder gently. He turned in Sebastian’s lap to face him, straddling him to maintain his albeit already shaky balance. The evening dew on the grass soaked into the denim of his jeans but he didn’t seem to mind.

“Here, I have an idea. All you have to do is sit there and look pretty darling.” Sebastian grinned at him as he settled the glassware in his lap between them. Xander watched with dazed interest as he relit the bowl that had been set aside. The embers flickered to life again after their brief stint of disuse as Sebastian inhaled quickly, not taking as large of a hit as last time. But instead of exhaling this time, he held the smoke as he set the glassware aside. As he closed the short distance between them, Sebastian gently ran his thumb over Xander’s lower lip silently asking for compliance. Xander leaned in eagerly, opening his mouth to meet him and was met with the warm sensation of smoke followed by a searing kiss. He instinctually inhaled, feeling the smoke enter his lungs much smoother this time around. His eyes fluttered shut as he sighed into his husband’s mouth and deepened the kiss for as long as he could before the need to exhale overtook him and he pulled away.

Sebastian watched with a flicker of interest as the smoke fell from Xander’s lips as delicately as he had given it to him. He ignored the heat curling low inside him in favor of making sure Xander was alright as he opened his eyes again, his vision beginning to glaze over as he succumbed to the effects. They should do this more often, Sebastian thought, if Xander would always be this beautiful subdued by the haze of his high. He could start to feel his own high creeping up on him and he ran his hands over Xander’s thighs in a placating manner to ground himself.

“Are you still with me, Xander?”

Xander nodded and mumbled his assent as he pulled himself back to the present. His gaze lifted to eyes that were already focused on his and he was unable to stop himself from leaning in for another kiss, needing to ground himself in his own way. Sebastian complied and met him halfway as he gently pressed his lips to Xander’s own in a chaste kiss.

“That was much better. Why didn’t we start with that?” Xander asked as he bent down to lean his head against Sebastian’s chest, listening to the steady pace of his husband’s heartbeat accelerated by the high, positive that his own heart rate matched it.

He felt the rumble of laughter in Sebastian’s chest before he heard it. “Because you were determined to show off even though I did everything for you the first time around.” Sebastian countered.

Xander rolled his eyes. He knew Sebastian couldn’t see the action but he was sure he felt the sentiment anyways. He let his body give in to the floating feeling of the high as he turned in Sebastian’s lap again. His husband automatically wrapped his arms around him and pulled him in to press Xander’s back against his chest as they fell into a comfortable silence. Time dragged on without either of them keeping track but before they knew it it was nearing 2 in the morning. Xander could feel the high dissipating in his body as sleep began to take over, a familiar weight in his limbs. He turned his head up to place a delicate kiss to the underside of Sebastian’s jaw.

“We should head back soon, love. It’s getting late.” Xander murmured into his soft skin. He breathed in the comforting scent of aftershave that he had come to love about Sebastian. He smelled like home.

Sebastian hummed in affirmation as he released his hold on him, but his hands lingered to grip Xander’s waist one last time.

“Yeah, let’s go home. Our home.” Sebastian smiled as he pressed a kiss to the top of Xander’s head.
