You were just reading one of your favorite books, when, suddenly, Xiao, your beloved boyfriend, materialized on your floor. The clatter of his mask falling off his face, revealing exhausted eyes, echoed in your almost silent house.
It took you a moment to comprehend what was happening, but as soon as Xiao started to fumble with his balance, you rushed over and held him close.
"Xiao…." you whispered, examing his body, and the many cuts weeping his blue-green blood, "How'd you get like this…..".
"D-doesn't matter…" Xiao slurred, "'m okay…."
"No Xiao…..you're not okay……" you murmur, holding him up, "let me help you…."
Xiao went limp in your arms as you carried him to your bathroom. "It's gonna be okay darling…..you're gonna be just fine.." you say, trying to reassure yourself as much as him.
You quickly pulled out bandages and other materials for healing your boyfriend. While adepti could heal themselves, Xiao would never be able to in this exhausted state.
You wet a towel and started to gently wipe it over his clamy skin, getting all the excess blood off of him.
"Alright baby…." You whispered, "this is gonna sting a little, okay?". Xiao screwed up his eyes and nodded in response, "you cam hold my hand if it's too much."
You gently put some rubbing alcohol on a cloth and wiped down his gashes. Xiao whimpered and squeezed your hand harshly.
"Shh….it's all done baby…" you murmur, running your fingers through his hair and rubbing small circles on his back. "I'll just put some banages on your cuts and then we can cuddle, alright?"
"Mmfhp…." Xiao whimpered in response, still feeling the burn of the rubbing alcohol.
You gently wrapped the bandages over his wounds and secured them with the medical tape you found in the cabinet under the skin. "There we go…." You gently picked him up and laid him on your shared bed. You climbed in bed next to him, pulling the blankets over the two of you. Xiao laid his head on your chest, looking up at you with adoration.
You pulled out your favorite book once more and began to read to Xiao, who fell asleep to the soft sound of your voice
