You stand in the mirror fixing your light Asgardian dress. You are joining the young princex Loki to a festival as her hand maiden. You have loved her, her emerald eye, and her mischievous smile for the longest time, but a noble would never consider their hand maiden and the All-father would never approve. So you are left pining as you hear rumors of Loki’s reputation of a ravaged of men and women alike.
You wait for Loki as she comes out of her room in a glimmering green and black gown with gold snakes adorning it.
”You ready to go, Your Highness?” You ask, trying to hide how your breath hitched when you saw her.
”Yes I suppose,” Loki responded, adjusting her dress. “though I do not see why my father finds it necessary me and Thor go to these events anyways.”
”I suppose he just wants the future hurts to have a connection with their subjects,” you said, trying your best to answer Loki’s question.
”You and I both know that he intends for Thor to take the throne. I have an equal chance of having the throne as a giant has of flying,” Loki sneered getting visibly more agitated.
”Well throne or no, you’ll always have me,” you consoled with a smile.
Loki noticeably untensed at that statement.
”Thank you Dear.”
“No problem.”
You and Loki arrived at the festival full of red banners, bright lights and colors, and people running around joyously.
”It’s beautiful,” you say eyes widest the full glory of the Asgardian people.
”I suppose,” Loki responded.
You two walk around to different merchant stalls set up when you get dragged into a conversation of idle gossip with Thor’s hand maidens.
When you go back to Loki she’s at a flower stall and you saw her but a rose.
”Who’s that for?” You question.
”Someone very dear to me,” she answered simply.
“Oh,” you responded, your heart breaking a little at the thought of Loki in love with someone else, “What do you want to do next your Majesty?”
“I’d like to try the Ferris wheel they set up Dear,” Loki suggested tensely.
As you and Loki walk over to the Ferris wheel you steel your broken heart reminding yourself that you never had a chance with Loki and you knew that.
As you reach the top of the Ferris wheel, you see Loki pull out the rose she bought.
”Dear, I have grown tired of hiding my feelings for you. It pains me that you’re so close and yet so far. I have fallen for you my dear, and when I told my brother of this he told me that his hand maidens have seen how you look at me. Dear, please tell me if this is true,” Loki said leaning towards you.
”Yes, but your father, what will he think-“ you stutter out before being interrupted by Loki’s lips on yours.
”I do not care what my father think. Throne or no I’ll always have you.”
