Time seems to slow. It’s a cliché, but it’s honest, and he’s trying to be honest with himself these days.
So honest that, as time slows and the wind rushing past him seems to slow as well, he admits that in a way, this is what he’s always wanted. To take control of his own fate, have a say in what becomes of him. To disappear, for good this time. Hopefully they won’t find his body. And what does it say about him, that the idea of disappearing forever and leaving everyone he loves with nothing fills him with a fucked-up sense of relief?
