"Why.. are you guys here?" Kel asked the rest of the group who tagged along with his and Basil's first little Aquarium date
Kel and Basil had their fingers intertwined with one another, and was going to see the penguins. They both had planned this date for a while and decided to go to an Aquarium since liking sea animals was something they shared in common, they just... did not expect for the rest of the group to suddenly show up as they left the shark area.
"Well.. we-" Hero's excuse was cut off
"We heard from Polly that you guys were going out and we felt left out" Mari admitted
"Mari!" Aubrey, Hero, and Sunny yelled out which Mari responded with a shrug
"I-Its fine! Really! We don't mind. Right?" Basil reassured as he waved with his free hand and looked at Kel
Kel turned away, avoiding his lovers gaze, "I.. guess" He huffed
The two were saddened at the fact their date is sort of ruined by their clingy friends. Its not like they hate them because of this or anything, its just... its their first date. They wanted it to be fun and perfect. Especially Kel, he wanted at least one thing he had done to be perfect, just like his brother.
Sunny notices how the two lovers felt. "Don't worry we... uhm.. wont bother you.. guys, we will just uh, be doing our own.. things" He assures the two as he was careful to pick his words
"Yeah! We will!" Aubrey agreed with Sunny, who also noticed how upset Basil and Kel looked
"Please do.." Kel mumbled under his breath
"We will be going then! Oh, and be careful!" Hero waved as he took Mari's hand and walked away with the others following behind
Basil waved back while Kel have them a short little wave before going back to where they were going in the first place. Basil was a bit startled with Kel leaving him and ran to keep up with Kel's pace. "You know, you don't really have to be that upset about it.. I mean, I am too! just, not as much as you" Basil leaned to the front to see the brunet's face that had a bitter look on it. Basil could see Kel rolling his eyes and pouted a bit.
"Sorry.. I just- REALLY want this to be fun and perfect!" Kel apologized while groaning
"And I understand! You just want to be like your brother, thats all!" Basil smiles, making Kel feel warm. "Besides, this doesn't need to be fun and perfect, its already is if you're here with me" Basil gave Kel a little kiss on the cheek
"You gotta stop doing that out of the blue, man" Kel chuckles a bit while smiling
Basil giggles, "Why? I mean, you seem happier now!" He exclaims
Kel rolls his eyes as they continued walking towards the Penguins. They intertwined their fingers with one another like little kids. That's what they love about each other; Comfort, doing such a little thing with each other brought them comfort. After Kel trying to catch up with Basils fast pace, they arrived at the Penguins. It was cold, but Basil could handle it.
The blond ran up to the glass, careful not to touch it since there's a very visible warning saying "Do not touch the glass!" that was red. Even so, there were children that was touching the glass and some leaning on it, with no one trying to stop them, not even the parents.
'How careless' Basil thought to himself and shook his head. He continued to focus on the Penguins. There weren't exactly many but it was just enough so that there were even baby Penguins which the blond adored. Basil looks to his side, expecting to see Kel who wasn't there.
"Kel..?" Basil called out in a panicked tone. He looks to his back to see Kel sitting on a chair shivering from the temperature of the place. Oh right, it was cold, or precisely, freezing. Basil had warned Kel to wear something comfy and warm since the Aquarium wasn't exactly.. warm. But Kel being Kel, ignored his lovers advice and wore a white T-shirt and matching white shorts, he wasn't even wearing any socks!
Basil walks over to Kel and sat next to him, "I warned you to wear something warm- But of course, you didn't listen" Basil sighs as he crossed his arms while slightly leaning away from Kel.
"It feels like I'm at Antarctica.." Kel mumbles as he pulls his legs up.
"I mean, these Penguins lives probably somewhere that's cold, so its no surprise" Basil points out, he recalls seeing a bit of a snowy land on top of where the Penguins were.
Kel hugs his knees before saying, "Can we.. share the scarf you're wearing?" Basil looks at Kel, confused. "I mean- Its long enough for both of us to wear it, right?" Kel asked.
"..but wouldn't you still be cold? A scarf can only cover your neck" Basil points out, a bit worried.
"Then you could hug me, too" Kel bluntly spoke, which startles Basil. The brunet was right, Basil wore something that was warm which was a green hoodie with brown pants with a pink scarf. It was understandable that Kel wants to hug him.. though, Basil seems to disagree as his face became the same hue as his scarf.
The blond stares at his lover in disbelief. "Do.. do you think it will be okay for us to just casually snuggle..?! We're in public! Passerby's will probably judge us!!" Basil blurts out as he waved his hands around, a bit anxious. With Basil disagreeing, Kel was left to do one last thing to make his partner to agree; Puppy-Dog Eyes. It was highly affective, the brunet had been using it for as long as he can remember. Probably since he was born.
Basil crosses his arms before he looks at the boy who was practically pleading at him with imaginary sparkles and flowers forming around him. Basil sweats a bit, "Kel, please dont give me those eyes.." He tries to look away but fails as he kept finding himself adoring the brunet. After countless attempts of trying to ignore his partner, Basil finally gaves in and huffs. "Alright- Fine! We can share my scarf and snuggle.."
Basil scoots closer to Kel and takes off his scarf so it can be easier for them to wear it. They began to hug to the point they could feel each others breathe, that was until Kel lays his head onto Basils chest and burying his face into it with his hands on his lovers waist. Basil was startled but decides to leave Kel to it, trying to get rid the warm feeling on his face which he fails.
"Yuhr so comfuhtable it shul be illegahl!" Kel muffles which Basil just responds with a slight giggle and pats the boys head. Basil slowly rests his own head on top of Kels and stares at the penguins swimming elegantly together.
"By the way, Basil-" Kel sits back up as he waits for the blond to look at him. and once Basil did he continues, "May I kiss you?" He asked with his big grin plastered on his face.
Basil's face reddens at the sudden question. But then again, Kel could've kiss Basil right when he turned his head unexpectedly, so he is grateful that Kel was thoughtful enough to give consent. Basil reluctantly nods, "You may.." With red tints still on his face, he lets Kel put a hand on his cheek. Slowly, Kel leans forward and let their lips meet with both of their eyes closed. They slowly pulls away and open their eyes to stare at each others beauty. After that, they suddenly laughs together and went back into their hugging positions. Kel went back to burying his face onto Basils chest and hear his heartbeat while Basil admires the penguins.
"Thah wuh nayse" Kel speaks up while still burying himself onto Basil.
Basil looks at Kel and smiles, "Yeah, it was nice" He agreed as he plays with his lovers hair
Unbeknownst to them, a certain group of four was watching them.
"I'm glad for their first kiss but.. Isn't this.. what you call a uh.. blackmail?" Sunny asks as he looks at Aubrey who was taking pictures of Kel and Basil from afar.
Aubrey chuckles. "Don't worry! I've been doing this to Basil for some time now!" She howls as she looks at the pictures they took, excited to tease her brother about it.
"I keep forgetting your mom and Basils dad got married so now you guys are step-siblings.." Hero thought out loud. "Its giving me a headache.." Hero looks up at the ceiling, hoping for it to cure his headache
"I think I can help with that, pretty boy~" Mari smirks at her boyfriend which makes him blush redder than Aubrey's highlights.
Sunny and Aubrey looks at each other then back at the two grown up and gags, disliking the sudden love tension. Since Sunny was never interested in romance in the first place, well except for Aubrey, they just hate the couples dynamic in general.
