Chapter Text
The school day started with the ring of the bell and students going to class. Of those students two of them stand out from the rest.
One of them has long dark navy-blue hair, tan skin, one periwinkle eye with a star-shaped pupil and an eyepatch. The other has long scarlet red hair, fair skin, and has eyes the colour of his hair. They were both sort of tall. The blunet was Kaeya and the redhead was Diluc. They were brothers although you wouldn’t realise that from their contrasting appearances. They were discussing about what they will be doing after school
“I started doing babysitting recently so I might come home late.” Kaeya said to Diluc while walking to class.
“Why would you do that Kae?” Diluc asked kaeya.
“I want to get some money to buy a new game coming out soon” he replied.
“Kaeya, you could just ask father to buy it for you. You don’t need to do jobs just to get it.” His brother responded a little confused.
“I know, but I want to start being more independent. Who knows what might happen in the future? Like, I could lose you and father and then I’ll be alone. I’m just making sure that nothing happens to me.” Kaeya told Diluc a little sadly
“Kaeya…” Diluc said solemnly afterwards.
“Anyways, I have to go to my science class, and I don’t think your teacher would be happy if you arrived late to your class.” Kaeya quickly said before rushing to his classroom.
Once he arrived, he went straight to his seat and took out his things. Everything was quiet for a while, until he realized someone had walked up next to him. He turned his head only to see his friend was right next to him.
Albedo has beautiful teal blue eyes that you could get lost in if you look for to long. He has delicate white skin and has a tattoo of a yellow four-pointed star on his neck. He is quite short compared to the blunet across from him. He also has fluffy blond hair done in a short ponytail at the back of his head. Kaeya can imagine just how soft his friend’s hair could be if he could touch it.
He and Kaeya have known each other since they were five years old. This was back when Kaeya still lived with his biological parents. But they really started becoming friends when they were living at the adoption center. But were separated when they got adopted to different families. Eventually, they managed to reconnect a few years later and become friends again. But something Kaeya gained over the years they were separated was an intense crush for him.
Albedo was talking to him, but he wasn’t paying attention. He was stuck in his mind. The blond snapped his fingers to get his attention back which succeeded.
“s-sorry Albedo, I guess I got distracted for a moment. What were you saying?” kaeya asked Albedo a little embarrassed.
Albedo then gave him a small smile which made his heart stutter for a second. Albedo wasn’t known for being expressive so even just a smile was quite rare to see. “It’s fine. But I heard you started doing babysitting recently and I was curious if you could help me take care of my little sister tonight. Alice is going out tonight with some of her friends somewhere and I’m not quite that experienced in taking care of a child let alone a hyper child like Klee.”
Everything seemed to stop after Albedo said that to Kaeya. Spending time with his lifelong crush for a night seemed to make him incredibly nervous. His thoughts seem to form into a jumbled mess of uncertainty, how beautiful Albedo looks and the fear of rejection. But his love for both Albedo and his chaotic sister won over the rest.
Kaeya then quickly accepts to help Albedo after school. Not even realising how much he smiles at the thought of hanging out with him.
“Alright, thank you so much. You have no idea how exhausting it is to take care of her alone. She recently almost put a fork in the microwave again. I don’t understand how my mother does it honestly.” Albedo then says exasperatedly which causes Kaeya to chuckle at the thought of Klee climbing the counter at record speed to reach the appliance just to try and shove a utensil in it, almost causing an explosion from it.
“Ha ha ha ! Alright then let’s meet up at the school entrance once the day ends. I know you don’t live that far from here, might as well take a nice stroll too.” Kaeya said while trying to hold in a couple giggles.
“Alright then, see you later.”
“Yeah, see ya!”
As time went on during the day,
Kaeya couldn’t help but think about how cute the small smile Albedo gave him was. He could barely pay attention and it got to the point that during math class, his teacher had called him out on being distracted.
Obviously, he got embarrassed form that and he couldn’t help being a little nervous from all the staring that caused.
But finally, the school day ended. But before the teenage boy went to visit his crush, he went to inform his red-haired brother where he’s going.
“you’re serious? Albedo asked you for help with taking care of his pyromaniac little sister. Why would he do that? We all know you’d enable her more” Diluc asked dumb founded by what his adopted brother informed him of.
“You wound me dearest brother!” Kaeya exclaimed. Put a hand over his chest in mock offence. “Everyone knows that I’m to sweet not to enable a kid to do such things!”
Diluc, not being impressed, frowns upon hearing him say that. “Sure... sweet... what about that time you decided to paint on MY clothes because you were bored. Or how about the time you somehow found enough snakes to fill them in my drawers. Or how about that one time where you-”
“Alright! I get it! I not actually sweet. Gosh, you always ruin my fun. When are you going to start having humour?” Kaeya swiftly cut off diluc while trying to pout and whine.
“When you start acting like a normal person and not like a theatre kid reciting some boring play they memorized by heart for no reason” his brother quickly rebuked.
“Geez fine. Anyways I better get going. I’d rather not make my lovely Albedo wait any longer than necessary. Bye Luc.” Kaeya stated.
“Alright bye Kae. Just be back before ten. You don’t want to make father think you ran off to Sumeru again now do we?” diluc told him while waving goodbye.
“Gods, that was one time!” Kaeya yelled to Diluc while jogging to get outside quickly.
Once out the door he sees Albedo’s fluffy hair swaying in the wind. And he approaches him.
“Albedo!” he yelled to get the blond-haired boy’s attention.
“Oh Kaeya, you arrived.” His friend said back.
“Yeah, sorry for the delay. Had to deal with my annoying older brother again.”
“it’s alright, I was just finishing drawing something.” Albedo said while finishing up the details in said drawing.
“Oh cool! May I see it?” Kaeya questioned him.
“Hmm… maybe next time Kaeya.”
“Oh okay!”
They continued chatting as they walked to Albedo’s home. They didn’t seem to really pay attention to the world around them most times. Every time they hang out together, they seem to be in a world of their own. There were many times during it that they weren’t paying attention to their footing and causing them to bump into each other. Which caused Kaeya to blush every time it happened.
Once they had arrived at his doorsteps, they opened to the door only to be tackled by a red ball of energy called Klee.
She has golden blond hair in two pigtails, scarlet red eyes, pale skin and is short.
Klee is currently seven years old and tends to try make things catch on fire. Known for her hyperness as well as Albedo’s little sister. She is loved by most, apart from the wildlife that she tries to blast.
“Big brother Albedo! Big brother Kaeya! You’re here! You’re here!” she said with a huge grin on her face while bouncing around them.
“yes, we are here Sunshine. Been a while since we’ve seen each other hasn’t it. I’ve missed you so much” Kaeya told her while hugging her tight.
“Klee, me and Kaeya will be babysitting you today. Our mom won’t be here until later today. Is that alright?” Albedo asked while trying to calm her down.
“As long as you are there then Klee is ok with it!” she happily replied.
Suddenly they heard the grumbling that came from their stomach and realized that all three of them were hungry.
“seems like we’ve got to make ourselves some food huh. ” Kaeya commented while trying to distract the little fireball hugging him.
“Yeah, seems like it. I think we should have some canned food we could use.” Albedo stated.
Upon hearing that though, Klee made a disgusted face making sounds to indicate her disgust clearly.
“Noooo Klee wants fisherman’s toast!” she yelled to Albedo.
“Klee… I barely know how to cook anything.” he said to her with a look of sadness and embarrassment.
She then looked so devastated that not even someone like Diluc could resist bending to her whims and listen to her.
“Hey Fireball, how about I make it this time hm? I might not be as good as your mom is in cooking, but I can sure try to.” Kaeya quickly said only just to see her smile as brightly as a thousand’s suns.
“Yay!! Big brother Kaeya is the best!!” she then exclaimed while twirling around.
“But you will need to behave. I’d rather not see the house on fire while making it alright?” Kaeya then said to Klee.
“Alright…” she said a little sadly.
Albedo felt a little guilty making Kaeya do all the work. So, he asked if he needed help which Kaeya gladly accepted.
But one thing that made things about working together in Albedo’s kitchen was that it was quite cramped. So, they would bump into each other and accidentally touch hands quite a lot of times. Maybe too many to be an accident, Kaeya thought while blushing and avoiding eye contact with the blond boy next to him.
But eventually, they were able to make a couple dishes for themselves and made the dinner table.
Once she heard that the food was ready, Klee dashed into the living room only to be stopped by Albedo.
“Klee, I told you before no running in the house.” He scolded her.
“Klee is sorry…” she said sadly.
“Oh, c’mon you two, now’s not the time for scolding. It’s time to eat and if you asked me, I think we should finish this quickly before it goes cold.” Kaeya told both while setting down the plates and utensils.
“Yay! Food!” Klee exclaimed while struggling to climb the chair.
As they sat down to eat enjoying the food while discussing about how Klee was doing or what she recently drew. The atmosphere around the table was nice and relaxing and seeing such an innocent and happy kid talk so happily and grinning so much made both teens smile as well. Which Kaeya saw and proceeded to think about for the rest of the meal.
Once they had finished, they went and cleaned the dishes together. Of course there were a few casualties from it because Klee had accidentally dropped a plate or two during it. Causing them to clean up the mess so that no one gets some pieces stuck in their foot.
After sweeping the final broken pieces, Klee wanted to have a tea party with the teenagers. So, she asked them to come to her room and play with her. The two teens were a bit hesitant to do so. They still had a lot of dishes to clean. But when they saw the child’s puppy dog eyes, they just couldn’t resist.
As Klee dragged the two boys away to her room, they saw that there was already a small table that they could barely fit their legs under to sit comfortably. They looked at each other in a way that said, “what have we gotten ourselves into?”
She pulled Albedo to make him sit where she wanted him to be and then did the same to kaeya. No regard for their safety as they both almost tripped a few times while she did it.
The tea party was quite stressful for Kaeya. Having to sit directly across from Albedo the entire time made it incredibly hard to not to get lost in his beautiful and delicate face or being stuck daydreaming about him kissing Kaeya.
Having realized that he was in fact daydreaming, the blue haired teen tried to shake his head to get rid of those thoughts. Not even realizing how much he was blushing.
Nothing was really happening apart from the standard of pouring imaginary tea in a cup and drinking it. Until the little girl asked Albedo a question.
“Big brother?” she said while looking at him with big eyes and a little pout.
“Um… yes Klee?” he replied a little unsure of what she wants from him.
“Can Klee style your hair?” she said with a pleading look.
The blond-haired boy was surprised by the question his little sister asked him. He seemed a bit reluctant in letting her do it from the way his face contorted in uncertainty and hesitation and even started having a small tint of red on his cheeks.
Kaeya marvelled at the blush that appeared on his friend’s face. His mind going at a thousand kilometres an hour. Thinking about how much he wants Albedo to blush more.
Eventually Albedo nodded and Klee immediately went on her bed to be able to reach his golden hair. Happily brushing it.
But before she continued with the hair styling, the little girl stopped what she was doing and stared at the teen across from the sibling duo.she then ordered Kaeya to close his eye saying that it was a surprise and that she didn’t want to ruin it. The bluenet complied with her and she went to get a bandana to cover his eye to make extra sure he didn’t peek.
Once she came back with a red coloured bandana and put it around his eye, she rushed back to do what she was initially doing before.
Although he couldn’t see what the girl was doing to Albedo’s hair, he could most certainly hear it.
“Ow! Klee be careful!”
” sorry big brother Albedo!”
Eventually the voices faded out. Most likely due to Klee trying to concentrate and not mess up.
Around half an hour later, He heard Klee triumphantly huff.
“Klee is finished albedo! I’m going to go get a mirror and big brother Kaeya can remove his bandana!” she yelled which was followed by the sound of pitter patter that was most likely her feet hitting the floor as she rushed to do what she said to do.
Kaeya obediently removed the bandana and was blinded by the light rushing in his eye. He put his hand up to block the light but eventually lowered it when his eye adjusted to it again. But what he saw next was probably the most heavenly thing he’s seen in his life.
Part of Albedo’s hair was tied in a small ponytail while the rest fell freely down his back. A couple of accessories like bows, hair clips and more were scattered in it. And the best part of it was the blush that got even redder from the last time he saw it. It seems that Albedo can look pretty no matter how he looks.
It also seems that his mouth can work before his mind can because what he said next wasn’t expected from either of them.
“Gods Albedo, you look so pretty right now. I wish I could just kiss you.”
Everything seemed to freeze right as he finished speaking. He realized that he just said that out loud. And from the reaction Albedo is giving him, it seems that he was either disgusted or surprised from the statement. But Kaeya thinks it’s the former.
“I-I mean! That’s not what I meant. I — ” he quickly and nervously try to explain to him that this wasn’t what he meant but was interrupted by Albedo rushing out of the room.
It took a few seconds for his nose to pick up the smell of something burning and realizing that Klee hasn’t come back with the mirror she said that she was getting. Making him also rush out the room to go where it was burning.
As he arrived at the kitchen, he saw Klee putting this time a fork and what seems to be a fin piece of wood. If this was any other situation, he would’ve given her points for creativity but right now isn’t the time.
“KLEE!!” he hears Albedo scream. Making the girl rapidly turn her head in the direction she heard him yell.
He sees Albedo rushing to get Klee as far away from the microwave as possible. Kaeya, trying to not get the house on fire, rushes to turn off the microwave. He unplugs it from the outlet and sighs from relief. Thinking that the danger is gone.
That is until he sees that theres still fire inside the machine and is getting worse.
“AH!” kaeya yells trying to get away from it.
“don’t worry I got the extinguisher!” Albedo tells him from across the room.
It doesn’t take long before he’s back and blasting the machine with the fire extinguisher. Finally killing the fire.
For a minute or two, everyone is just trying to calm down from the event. Kaeya tries to calm down Klee but sees that she looks a lot more guilty than scared.
“Klee is sorry for making a fire. Klee didn’t mean to cause one.” She mumbled while starting to cry.
“Klee… I told you this before. The microwave isn’t meant to be experimented with nor played with it is incredibly dangerous if you put the wrong things in.” Albedo scolded her.
“Anyways didn’t you say you would be getting the mirror? Why did you lie to us?” he then questioned.
“Klee saw some wood while trying to find mom’s little mirror she has in her room and got distracted by thinking about what might happen if Klee put it in the microwave. Klee is very sorry.” She answered while full on crying.
Kaeya went to check the time while Albedo was scolding the child. His eyes widen upon realizing that it’s way past her bedtime. When trying to walk up to the two blonds. His feet started to hurt a lot. But as he went to check why by lifting one of them, he lost balanced and fell on the floor. Causing to make a loud sound alarming Klee and his older brother to see what caused it.
As they approached, they saw it was Kaeya who fell.
“Sorry about that. I guess I lost my balance.” He told them while trying to stand up only to cause more pain to come to his feet again.
“How did that even happen?” His friend then questioned.
“My feet started hurting when I was trying to walk so I was trying to see what caused it but I fell in the possess.” Kaeya said a little embarrassed for admitting how he easily fell.
Hearing that, Albedo quickly decided to make klee go to bed before returning with the first-aid kit he has in the bathroom.
“Remove your socks please.” He then ordered Kaeya who did what his friend told him.
Removing the socks showed a plethora of glass and ceramic piece stuck in his skin which was bleeding.
“I guess we didn’t do a great job cleaning up those broken pieces earlier. Huh?” Kaeya said trying to joke around and make the situation less awkward.
But Albedo didn’t reply. Trying to focus on removing all the pieces of broken dishes stabbing his friend’s feet.
Once done with getting them out, he quickly wraps Kaeya’s feet in bandages trying to make sure that the blood doesn’t stain his clothing. As well as to prevent anything getting in and causing infections.
“This is the best I can do sadly. I’d recommend you get professional help once we’re done here.” He told Kaeya trying to if he missed any other wounds.
The silence that followed was starting to become unbearable. Kaeya’s thoughts going haywire again thinking about if he should address what he said earlier. But it seems like Albedo best him to it.
“So, about what you said earlier. The thing about kissing me…” he said slowly trying to find the right words to say.
‘That’s it. He’s done. Now Albedo knows that you have a big crush on him, and this is where he’s going to reject you and he won’t want to be friends anymore.’ Kaeya’s thought said to him.
“Yeah… uhm…” Kaeya tried saying anything, but it seems like his mind couldn’t think of anything to say.
“I d-didn’t know you felt that way for me…” Albedo said while blushing immensely.
“I-I’m sorry. I swear I didn’t mean to disgust you by saying that. “Kaeya quickly stated a little ashamed for having said that earlier.
“w-what? No! no I’m not disgusted! Im relieved!” Albedo loudly spoke causing Kaeya to be a little startled but then making him realize what he said.
“Wait… you… feel the same way?!?” he said while being shocked by the revelation.
“Yes! I-I love you, Kaeya! I never said anything because I feared what you would say…” he exclaimed while tears started to fall down his cheek.
Finding out that his crush also had a crush on him caused Kaeya to tear up. Smiling happily while trying to hug Albedo.
“I love you too Albedo. I love you so much!” he said while trying not try cry and wake up klee.
Their faces were so close to each other. If you move a little bit, you might accidentally kiss each one another.
“Can I finally get to kiss you?” he whispered in Albedo’s ear.
He felt him nod rapidly. As if he was extremely desperate for it to happen. Without hesitation, he went straight for the shorter person’s lips. Kissing him deeply with so much emotion and love. As they broke away to get some air, they very quickly reconnected their lips together for another one that very hastily turned to multiple kisses.
After a while they finally slowed down and stopped, they realized that they have no idea how they are going to deal with this.
“So, I guess this means we’re boyfriends huh?” Kaeya questioned while pondering how he’s going to announce this to his family.
“yeah, I guess we are…” Albedo responded.
“well, I since we’re boyfriends, how about we go on a date tomorrow?”
“Sure, I don’t have anything planned tomorrow. I’ll just have to tell Alice about it.” Albedo then said.
“Alright well I suppose I should go home then.” Kaeya told him while looking at the time. It said it was almost eleven at night.
“I don’t think you can walk with you feet injured...” his boyfriend commented. “I’ll call your father to pick you up. That way we can have more time to spend together.” He then added causing Kaeya to smile again.
As they went to get the phone to call his father, they decided to hold hands. It felt nice having someone hold his hand and made him feel warm inside.
He picked up the phone and dialled the phone number needed. A few seconds later, his father answered it.
“Hello? Crepus here.” He heard his dad say in the speaker.
“Hi father, it’s me Kaeya. Look so I went to Albedo’s house to help him take care of his sister and I need you to come pick me up.” He said to his dad.
“Why can’t you walk home? I know it isn’t that far away. Are you alright? Did something happen?” his father worried.
“Ha-ha… yeah well something did happen. His little sister decided to put some dangerous things in the microwave again. I sort of stepped on some broken glass while trying to turn it off so I can’t really walk a lot without it hurting.” He answered.
“Alright I am on my way. I’ll be there in five minutes.” His dad said.
Kaeya then hung up and looked to Albedo with a mischievous grin on his face. “Looks like we have an extra five minutes to kiss then.”
Hearing that caused his boyfriend to then blush immensely but nod and rushed to reconnect their lips again as if starved from not being able to do so.
Those five minutes were absolutely heavenly. Sadly, the moment was short lived when they seem to have lost track of time. They both froze when the door opened. Revealing that his father arrived with Alice.
“I’ve arrived Kaeya! Time to go home now-” his father exclaimed but quickly cut himself off when he saw what his son was doing.
They both broke off from the kiss. Feeling incredibly ashamed that they got caught by both parents.
“Oh my! Seems like my little Albedo finally made the move and confessed to Kaeya!” Alice teased seeing how they both looked incredibly uncomfortable from being seen. “Crepus, seems like your son had a good time helping his ‘friend’ now, doesn’t it?”
Crepus was still trying to process what’s going. but when he finally did, he just sighed and picked Kaeya to bring him in the car.
But before he could leave,
albedo told kaeya not to forget about their date tomorrow. Causing his boyfriend to blush for having his father hear that.
The car ride was uneventful, but the silence made the tension even more unbearable.
“Father I’m so sorry you had to witness that…” he said trying to make the awkwardness leave.
“It’s fine Kaeya. We all do dumb things when we’re teenagers. Plus, I don’t mind if you date him. You two knew each other way before you knew me, so I’m not worried about this being someone you barely know.” Crepus said to reassure his son.
Once they finally arrived home, Kaeya went straight to his room and went to his phone and text his boyfriend. Even the thought that Albedo was now his boyfriend made kaeya incredibly giddy.
Kaeya
So, about that date…
Albedo
How about we go to the movies? I heard that theres a good one that came out recently.
Kaeya
I would love to.
Anyways it’s getting late good night. <3
Albedo
Good night sweetheart.
<3
Kaeya couldn’t help but close his phone and then squeal in his pillow after reading his last text. He quickly fell asleep due to being exhausted from the day’s events as well as to make the day go faster. He slept having dreams of him and Albedo the entire night. Peacefully resting with a small smile on his face.
