Finishing touches

Summary:

Edgar is unsatisfied and thinks his painting is incomplete, he has an idea how to offer the finishing touches.

Notes:

This is my first time writing, so it might be terrible(I know it is since I rushed at the end.) I'm always open to constructed criticism.

Work Text:

Edgar carefully observed his artwork, the canvas in front of him is composed of a woman of higher class smiling sweetly as an engagement ring was placed on her finger. He let out a loud groan of frustration as he tossed the paint stained blanket on the painting and stormed off outside.

Mr. Sarai was on a business trip with his father to the capital, not that Edgar needed him, he is fully capable of creating masterpieces that rivals those before him.

He walked on the pavement on his way to his home, the art studio fading into the distance. The wedding is a few days away, hosted at his ball at the Valden mansion. The painting was supposed to be a gift for the newlyweds, yet Edgar felt it was incomplete. It was missing something, something he couldn't put his finger on.

He was greeted by the servants that opened the door for the young Lord. he just casually waved them off after entering his home to avoid any more human interaction for the evening.

He walked through the corridors, past the servant workplace and the guest rooms in the east wing to the private rooms. He stopped at a vacant room. It used to belong to his sister, the door was decorated with scribbles from the young Ella and Edgar.

They would peek out the window to see the servants running around like ants on the courtyard. Edgar would sketch the scenery outside and gifted it to her when she was too sick to roam the mansion.

He straightened his composure and walked to his room, he had no time to think of the past. He grabs a tube and a razor from his desk, he sits on his bed and lifts up his sleeve. He twirls the blade between his fingers as he gets ready for the awaiting pain and pleasure.

He softly grazes his arm, almost teasing until he applies more pressure and makes a deep slash. He was amused and a bit aroused by the blood gushing out from his wound. He lets out a sigh, the stress leaving his mind for a short while. He places the glass tube under his arm where the blood has started to drip and watches the rich liquid fill the tube.

An idea popped into his head. He would occasionally paint with his own blood, he thought it would make him closer to his paintings and the red left a nice touch compared to his paints.

Since his blood was too valuable, he decided to extract it from the groom. He tossed a few things around on his desk until he finds the wedding planner at the bottom, stained with paint.

He skims through the pages, looking for today's plans. As he looked through it he discovered that the groom was supposed to check with the master chief for the final decisions on the buffet after the ceremony. He checks for the time.

6:00

That's in an hour, if he prepares himself in time he can interrupt the man after the meeting. He places the tube back in place for later use and puts an empty one safely in his pocket. He also takes out a rather lengthy blade that he uses to scrape off paint on and stored it on his person.

He passes time by going out for a walk and gazing out on the fields. It was littered with bright reds and dull oranges. He remembers this scene by heart, having painted it multiple times for his dear sister for every season.

He sat down on a nearby oak tree and observed the sunset, it all looked boring to him. Dull. He waited until the last few minutes before 6 to head towards the kitchen, being careful to avoid any servant or guest walking in the halls.

He catched up to the groom before he could open the kitchen door.
"Lord Valden, it's an honor meeting you, how may I be of service?" The man said.
"Good evening sir, I have the painting ready. I just need your approval. May I take some time away from your day to see it?" Edgar replied. He doesn't need anyone's approval, his artwork is the best out there and everyone that criticizes his work doesn't understand art and therefore should be punished accordingly.

The man agreed, so Edgar guided him to his art studio, the knife felt heavy in his pocket. The man spoke too much, he breathes too loudly and it annoys Edgar. It took great effort to not snap and kill him on the sidewalk, Edgar was better than that.

Edgar opened the door and welcomed the man into the studio, he was careful locking the door behind him. He carefully walked up and slowly raised his arms. Before the man could speak Edgar was quick to wrap his hands around the man's throat and squeeze.

The man was caught by surprise and struggled against him, in the process he tripped and tumbled down to the ground, knocking a few tools around. Edgar groaned before kneeling down and picking up a metal can.

The other male was gasping for air, trying to recover but Edgar banged the can on the man's forehead, knocking him out.

Edgar stared at the groom for a while, watching his chest rise and fall. He pulled the knife out of his pocket and took the groom's arm. He hums a small tune as he slices the other arms, once he believes that he is finished he stands back up.

He took off the blanket and grabbed a brush from a nearby can. He dipped the tool in some of the blood leaking into the floor and adding the finishing touches.

Once he is finally satisfied he puts the brush back and grabs a few bandages from a nearby cabinet, he once again levels himself with the groom and tends to his wounds. After that he wipes away the blood with a towel then throws it with the rest of his messy belongings and exits the studio.

He searches for a servant and tells him that the groom fainted in his studio and needed assistance immediately, as the servant runs off he thought of how to convince the man to not rat him out. At least his painting was finally complete.
