Chapter Text
The world did not end in a bang or a whisper, but rather, one scream at a time.
“MIKE!” A brunette haired boy struggled to scream. The boy’s name was Dustin Henderson, and Mike was one of his best friends. Mike then turned around, seeing Troy with his arm around Dustin.
“Dustin, it’s for the best.”
“What would Will think?” Dustin demanded. He started to shake through Troy’s grip.
“How do you expect me to know what Will would think, Dustin? I’m not Will. He’s gone.” Mike then looked back at the water down below. He took a minute, but then…jumped off the cliff. Troy then dropped Dustin to the ground. Dustin then ran over until he reached the cliff.
“MIKE!!!!” He yelled, seeing the water splash where Mike fell. Troy then followed behind Dustin and shoved the boy to the side.
“Holy shit. Wheeler truly did jump.” Troy started to walk back to town and Dustin just sat on the rocks. Eventually, Lucas biked to the quarry.
“Dustin, everything okay? Where’s Mike?” He asked.
Dustin just shook his head and sighed. “He’s dead. Mike jumped off into the lake. It was Troy’s fault but that doesn’t matter.”
“Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit. HE JUMPED INTO THE DAMN LAKE?! Yeah, I’m going back home.”
“I’ll tell the Wheelers. And Mrs. Byers. My mom, and the Police.” Dustin got up and went to his bike, heading his way back to town, with Lucas following behind
