Gwen’s 16th Birthday

Summary:

It’s Gwen’s 16th birthday and she invites the gang over for a sleepover. Miles has recently realised he has a crush on Pavitr. Naturally, confessions are made.

This fan-fiction is set in a world where they all live in the same universe and never got bitten by spiders.

Notes:

This is my first fan-fiction so I’m sorry if it’s terrible (I’m open to any pointers of what I should do in the future) and I think the characterisation is off so I apologise for that too.

Work Text:

Miles knocks on the door to Gwen's place, holding a small wrapped gift in his hand. He hears a scuttle of footsteps and a few seconds after, the door opens.

“Took you long enough Morales,” Gwen gestures for him to enter, “everyone else is already here.”

She leads him through the hallways and into the living room, where a few mattresses have already been set up. He sees Hobie lying on the couch and gives him a quick wave. His eyes eventually land on Pavitr and his heart gives a quick thump. Its been doing that a lot recently. Every time he gets close or shows him those cute smiles or small shoulder touches, Miles can feel his heart just explode. He talked to Hobie about it and realized two very important things.

1. He is bisexual.
2. He has a crush on Pavitr Prabhakar.

Initially, he had a massive freaking out moment and he couldn't even stand in the proximity of Pavitr without feeling embarrassed, which led to avoiding him for a few days. Pavitr spotted Miles and gave him one of his wide grins. Miles was fine (no he wasn't) and calmly walked towards Pavitr (he was sweating like crazy).

“Miles!” Pavitr reaches out for a fist bump “I feel like I haven't seen you in ages. How are you doing?”

Miles laughs nervously and reciprocates the fist bump. “I've been doing okay. I got a B+ in Spanish, which is an improvement.”

Pavitr giggles and Miles’ heart flutters. They spend the rest of the afternoon playing board games and Miles feels like everythings back to normal, everyone laughing , having fun and he could just talk with Pavitr how he used to without feeling nervous. Yeah, he could survive this stupid crush he had on the pretty boy beside him, no biggie.

He can't survive this. After a dinner of pizza, the gang decided to watch a movie before getting into bed, which is how he ended up in this predicament. He was currently sitting on the couch next to Pavitr. Having him sit so close to him was just so nerve wracking that he couldn't concentrate on what was happening in the movie. It also didn't help that Miles could smell the nice coconut oil that Pavitr always used.

Half way into the movie, Pavitr lowered his head onto Miles’ shoulder. This was normal, just bros being bros. Miles was definitely not reading too much into it. Pavitr was pretty affectionate with a lot of people so it's probably nothing to overthink about. Yes, that's it. Eventually, Miles worked up enough courage to also lean his head on top of Pavitr’s. He felt… calm, and finally got to focus on the movie.

“Aw look at them.”

“Shush Hobes, you might wake them up.”

He could hear people giggling and he saw a flash of light. He opened his eyes slightly to see Gwen with her phone out, grinning suspiciously. It was then that Miles realised that he had fallen asleep. He felt a soft breath on his neck and blushed.

“I swear to god Gwen, you better delete that picture right now.” Miles glared at her.

“Unfortunately for you, I don't think that will be happening any time soon,” Gwen replied.

All the chatter woke Pavitr up and he picked up his head from Miles’ shoulder. He blinked sleepily. Miles immediately missed the feeling of Pavitr on his shoulder and the warmth he felt.

“Is the movie over?” Pavitr yawned

“Yeah and it was amazing. You two love birds missed out on the best part cause you decided to have a nap,” Gwen rolled her eyes dramatically.

Miles blushed again.

“Gwen could I go grab some water real quick? I'm feeling kinda thirsty,” Hobie gives her a look.

She looks puzzled for a moment but seems to catch on. “Can't have you dying of dehydration can we? C’mon Hobes follow me.”

They both leave the living room to get to the kitchen.

“What was that about?” Pavitr asked.

“No idea,” Miles had a general idea though.

He and Pavitr fell into silence, neither knowing what to say. They sat awkwardly for what felt like ages before Pavitr decided to speak up.

“I've been meaning to ask you something.”

Miles takes a shaky breath. “What about?”

He glances over and sees Pavitr nervously fidgeting with his fingers.

“It's just that… I’ve been noticing you haven't really been talking to me for the past few days and-” Pavitr cuts himself off, “I was just wondering if I’ve done something wrong or maybe done something to upset you. Please be honest with me, I don't want to lose you Miles.”

A few seconds tick by and the words Pavitr said sunk in. He thinks Miles has been avoiding him because he thought he was…angry at him. This idea was so ridiculous and the complete opposite of what Miles actually felt that he ended up bursting out in laughter. Pavitr seemed taken aback and just stared.

“No it's definitely nothing like that Pav trust me,” Miles chuckled.

“Then wh- why have you been avoiding me?” Pavitr seemed genuinely confused now.

Miles calmed down and sighed.

“I’ll tell you, just promise me you won’t hate me?”

Pavitr nodded. Miles nervously avoided eye contact.

“I like you. Like a lot. You are the first thing on my mind every day I wake up and- and every time I see you smile it's like a bomb goes off in my heart. I know you probably don't feel the same way and that's okay, but you've become really special to me.” Miles looks up at Pavitr. “I just wanted to let you know that.”

Pavitr slowly started smiling.

“I like you too Miles,” Pavitr reaches a hand up to touch Miles’ cheek.

“Oh” Miles whispers.

“Yeah, oh,” Pavitr giggled

Their faces are so close. Miles leans forward, hesitating for a moment before gently pressing his lips to Pavitr’s. It's soft and warm and everything he expected and more. He can feel Pavitr trying to hold back a smile. They press their foreheads against each other and engulf themselves in the moment.

“I told you they were into each other,” Hobie whispered, holding the cup of water he didn't really need.

Gwen shushed him. They “accidentally” peeked into the living room and caught the tail end of Miles and Pavitr’s conversation.

“Let's wait a few more minutes before entering,” Gwen said, “We wouldn't want to interrupt this special moment.”
