Chapter Text

Nesting was always important to the omegas. Many had stopped outside their mating periods, but not all.

For young omegas, nesting was considered essential, since it allowed them to strengthen ties with their family and friends, allowed them to form herds, and containment networks

When he was 13, Izuku's nest only smelled like mint and laundry soap. With a Beta mother, and no friends at school, the teenager had no one to ask for scented clothes to add to his collection of pillows and stuffed animals. Yes, he had some of his mother's sweaters, but that was more out of affection than because his omega delighted in having them there, since they only gave off the soft lavender scent of laundry soap.

So yes, Izuku, at 13 years old, during one of the most important stages for omegas, had a nest that smelled only of himself.

However, for the moment, he couldn't care less, all he could focus on was studying to get into UA.

Or at least he didn't care, until, at the age of 14, at least 3 years earlier than expected, Izuku had his first heat from him.
...

"It's possible," her GP said with an expression that sounded a lot like pity, "that those omegas who don't have an Alpha presence in their lives start their heat cycles earlier than usual, to attract potential mates. It's an instinct Basic survival, before, an omega needed an alpha to be safe. A father, a pack leader, a couple..."

"You're suggesting that my son, my son, needs to look for a-an alpha, but he's only 14 years old, he's too young to look for a partner" Inko's eyes were crystallized by tears that had not yet shed, and her voice had a choked tone, like if she was forcing herself to speak over the knot in her chest.

Izuku hadn't said a single word since he sat in the uncomfortable chair at the Omega Clinic.

He was so useless that his ridiculous prehistoric instincts had had to intercede for him, because he wasn't capable of having a fucking alpha in his life.
In his class he was the only omega, and not even in that way had he been able to have a friend who perfumed a shirt for him.
And all because he had no quirk.

If it wasn't so useless, Kacchan would have remained his friend and could have asked him to perfume something for him.

Find a partner? Who would want it? His colleagues didn't even speak to him...

"No not at all"
Izuku raises his head when he hears the doctor's response.

"What he needs is for his omega to feel 'protected' by the essence of an alpha, just nesting surrounded by scented objects will be enough to regulate the heat cycle of his son"

The woman stands up and without stopping talking to them, she approaches the door.

"I am aware of Izuku's situation, and I know perfectly well how difficult it can be for him to find a scent with which he feels comfortable and safe"

After closing the door with the latch, she returns to sit behind her desk.

"I'm going to prescribe suppressants, mild ones, because you're too young for a full dose, and I'm going to recommend the use of patches for your glands and…" she seemed to hesitate as she checked her bag "and I would also recommend that you consider wearing a necklace After rummaging around, he took out of his bag what looked like a business card, and discreetly handed it to Inko. "I think that a collar, while annoying, would provide you with a layer of security against any alpha that could detect your scent on the patches."

Izuku read the card over his mother's shoulder.

There was only one email.

They both looked at the doctor curiously.

"They will be able to help you with the items for your nest."
