Raoul's finally back home, short one leg but basking in the warmth of his family's approval. That is, until he starts to feel like a prop in the senate race more than a person. When he reunites with a childhood friend, his family gets notably colder towards him. How come? Erik has one whole friend, health insurance, and a house he owns. And yet, because God is dead and life is cruel, he still feels like shit all the time. After a fateful meeting involving mace and music, his life might just turn around for the better. Until that meathead boy, son of that skinhead senator, butts in. Christine Daae is out of money, out of parents, and out of hope. It's hard to pay for college and medical debts that were never yours when you work at a Waffle House. When she runs into her creepy neighbor at a bar, she discovers a chance to earn money using the best gift her parents gave her: her voice.
