Chapter Text

Full Backstory:

Mirabel went to Iraq for a foreign internship for political activist Senana Ortul, while she was studying under her to learn about politics, she gets bitten by a radioactive spider. Before then, her family was a little against the thought of Mirabel going across the ocean, far from them. However, with recent underground chatter of villains being recruited for something big, it worried the Madrigals that Mirabel could be in the crossfire, like her best friend Peter Parker, after the Jackle injected him with mutated lizard DNA and his heart failed on him. They thought that Mirabel needed this for herself and to be protected from whatever danger is growing underneath New York.

Not a day later, the sweet woman she was living with, was attacked by some men who believed that she was harboring wanted criminals. The woman she was staying with, Sapna Nehru was like a second mother to Mirabel, she showed interest in her life, made sure she wasn't up too late, helped her with her science homework, and helped her speak Arabic. So when Mirabel saw this sweet woman harmed for no reason, she decides to fight back when it was announced that she would be in a coma for the unforeseeable future.

When she began fighting against Iraq's new militia government: Midnight Lunar Soldiers, she comes across Senana Ortul again but as a hero. The two began a partnership, stopping the Midnight Lunar Soldiers from taking control over all of the cities in Iraq - and helping her win the election rather than allowing one of the M.L.S. puppets take control. After a couple of grueling weeks, Mirabel decides to dawn the name Arach-Knight. Originally it was pronounced; Iraq-Knight, but then a slight miscommunication later she's now Arach-Knight. Two months later, Sapna Nehru wakes up and soon hears the word of Arach-Knight and places the pieces of her identity together, and confronts Mirabel after returning home and telling her that she will help Mirabel with whatever she needs.

Not a second later, men in green and black uniforms came into the apartment. She planned on fighting them, but the leader of this unit named Duke Ross introduced himself and told Mirabel and Sapna two things; 1. the organization he works for will help Sapna with building technology to help Mirabel with her fight against M.L.S. And 2., he welcomes them to G.I. Joe.

After months of taking down M.L.S. bases, Mirabel and the Joes come across a strange mineral that had a unique and different energy signature. After multiple examinations, Spana deduced that it could lead to making new forms of weapons, and Mirabel was going to have some exceptional new gadgets to use after discovering that it can take the shape of different forms of matter; liquid, smoke, energy, and webs even.

After a full year of being Arach-Knight, working with G.I. Joes, helping Senana Ortul to successfully become the new female president of Iraq, destroying M.L.S. and destroying some of the old laws that were emplaced that were in place in Iraq, discovering a potential new energy source for the people, for Mirabel's gadgets and that could help grow trees in the harshest of environments, stopping new villains in Iraq: Man-Wolf, Velcitey, Green Goblin which revealed to be Norman Osborn after he was impaled on the glider he flew around on, Black Cat(Which became an on and off again/side piece relationship), Beatle, Paradox, and Morbious.

"Flight 892 now departing"

Mirabel hears the intercom announcing that her plane, which is now refilled with people is now leaving for Iraq again. She and Sapna have been going through the necessary paperwork to get out of the airport. After a while, they were now going through the X-ray machines and opening their lauages.

"Do you have any contraband such as weapons, medical marijuana, or foreign foods inside?" The airport security asks Mirabel as he prepares to open her suitcase.

Mirabel shakes her head and says, "No not really." Then the security officer opens it and there it wall was. Her Arach-Knight costume, her utility belt, and her Xenothium energy weapons were all out in front of the suitcase. She begins to sweat bullets that all of her stuff were right there in the open. She nervously says, "W-W-W-Well, y-y-you see here, is ah, well," Mirabel couldn't figure out the right words to say.

He pulls out one of the weapons, examines it, and says, "Kid," Mirabel becomes more worried when the guard goes for his walkie-talkie and says, "Attention all units; we have ourselves a bonified nerd entering the airport. I repeat we have ourselves an Arach-Knight cosplay nerd please be aware of her at all times thank you." he begins to laugh at the joke he just did. He thinks that the stuff that is in Mirabel's luggage is cosplay toys. He closes the luggage and hands it back to her and says with a smile, "Welcome back to the States, Arach-Knight." He says jokingly.

Mirabel soon grabs her luggage and walks alongside Sapna and the two begin to walk out of the airport.

Sepna asks Mirabel as they begin to go near the airport's doors not seeing the multiple shadows of people fighting over them, "So Mirabel, now that we're back in the States, do you now have an idea on what to do for the future?" Causing Mirabel to think about it.

Before leaving, Iraq, her internship head, Senana Ortul suggested that Mirabel could go into politics which was the main reason why she went to Iraq for her internship. However, while at Oscorp Sapna helped her with analyzation of the Xenothium - figuring out how to replicate it safely - then one outside of Oscorp scientist (Horizen High/Labs) approached her with an offer to study and work in. Duke, offered her a position in G.I. Joe Field Division to help protect the world from threats. "I honestly have no idea." She says as she throws her hands into the air in defeat, still not noticing the shadows moving around from the outside. "I mean, ugh, I have multiple options that I can see myself doing, at least one of them. The whole reason for me going to Iraq was to learn politics and that is what I thought that I wanted to do, but one thing lead to another and now I'm offered a spot in a secret organization, I have a shot in a future in science now. And I have no idea what to do." Sepna pats Mirabel's back in support.

Sepna then says as they walk through the airport doors, "Don't worry Mirabel, I'm sure something will come up, your decision, will... be closer... than you think..." Sepna's supportive expression changes as she and Mirabel's jaws drop down in shock.

In front of them, The first superhero-Columbian team was fighting against at least half of their archenemies in front of the airport with at least 78% of the front area of the airport destroyed and looking like a literal warzone. The Encantos, Mirabel's family, were fighting their enemies. Food Healer (Julieta AKA Mirabel's mom) and Breaker (Luisa Mirabel's sister) vs. Rhino. Storm-Maker (Pepa Mirabel's aunt) vs. Doc. Ock, Sand-Man, and Mysterio. Soundwave (Dolores Mirabel's cousin) vs. Shocker, Hydro-Man, and Molten-Man. Florist (Isabela Mirabel's sister) and Camilion (Camilo Mirabel's cousin) vs. Vulture, Kraven the Hunter, and Negative Man.

Mirabel and Sepna look at the scene playing out in front of them.

The two look at each other and from having shocked faces turned to serious and determined faces.

Mirabel and Sepna split up.

Sepna runs off to find cover and help evacuate everyone else from the airport.

While Mirabel ran off trying to find a place with a cover for her to change into her Arach-Knight suit and gear. Her suit is an almost entirely white color scheme with pops of red along the arms and the mask with an esque hood as well as a stark white cape. He then puts on her Xenthium-powered belt with all of her gadgets inside the utility pouches. Once she puts on her mask her central HUD lights up and Mirabel calls in G.I. Joe.

The person who answers was Tunel Rat. Part of being a G.I. Joe was to never, under any circumstances ever use their real name. "G.I. Joe HQ, Tunnel Rat here, whatcha' need?" He asks in a deadpanned tone. Mirabel met Tunnel Rat on a stakeout back in Iraq, he was a lot more enthusiastic when it came to stakeouts or going through sand, mud, and swamps than being at the customer help caller.

Mirabel answers, "Tunnel Rat, it's me Arach-Knight, I need multiple Joe units I have a ton of supervillains over at the airport and I need them here now!" She says as she swings out from her cover and swings off to the fight.

Tunnel Rat nearly falls off of his chair and says, "U-U-Understood!" On Tunnel Rat's end, he types in a few things and says, "Okay, at least twenty-eight guys with containment trucks and heavy artillery are coming your way. Just hold them off until they get there." Mirabel nods her head as she joins in the fight between Storm-Maker, and Doc. Ock, Sand-Man, and Mysterio.

"Hey, you guys are having a party and didn't invite me!" She says as she delivers a swing face kick to Doc. Ock's face caused her to stumble backward with her tentacles keeping her from falling. Mirabel swings over towards Sand-Man and flings herself into the middle of him. She passes right through him and drops off an ice grenade into him. It explodes causing Sand-Man to be encased in ice. She makes her way towards Mysterio and jokingly says, "Oh, hey look, you guys brought the clown," Mysterio diverts his attention to Arach-Knight and fires off multiple green mystical lasers at her as she begins to leap out of the way from each blast. She goes onto solid ground and starts running towards Mysterio causing him to fire at her rapidly, but they are to no avail as she dodges them without worry and manages to go near/under him to deliver a uppercut punch. Mysterio lands on the hard ground cracking his helmet.

Storm-Maker asks her, "Who are you?"

As her spider-sense kicks in warning her to jump forward as a metal tentacle attempts to crush her.

Mirabel begins to dodge Doc. Ock attacks as she says, "You mean you never heard of me?" As she performs acrobatic and circus moves while making Doc. Ock missing his target. "Why I'm the mysterious," She webs her tentacles to the ground, "The Shadow of Revolution," Once she was done, she charges towards Doc. Ock, "I am..." She delivers a punch in her gut and kicks that the momentum threw her towards a lamp post allowing Mirabel to encase her in a web cacoon while still on the post.

"ARACH-KNIGHT!"

Mirabel announced her hero name for all to hear.

She proceeds to head toward the fight that Food Healer and Breaker were having with Rhino. As she swings over towards them, she sees Breaker and Rhino having a fistfight that is resulting in her covering her face as Rhino makes attempts to pound his knuckles into her face. To help her, Mirabel distracts Rhino by covering his face with the web blocking his vision and causing him to step backward as he tries to tear off the web on his face.

"Raaahhhh, what is this crap?!" He shouts as the webs were sticking to his face well which now sticking to his hands. Mirabel jumps behind him and crazily shoots multiple web lines onto his back and connects them to the road. Rhino becomes unbalanced as he tries to better angle himself. With this Breaker begins to deliver rapid punches onto Rhino's tough armor causing him to grunt. Mirabel throughs a couple of Xenthium pellets towards his feet, just in time as Rhino finally pulls the webs off his face. He was about to punch Breaker back when the pellets explode under his feat creating a rising foam around his feat which continued to rise towards his neck and cover most areas around his arms. "WHAT IS THIS?!" This was Xenthium foam it acts like foam but when harden, its durability is similar to steel. Arach-Knight walks in front of Rhino and gives him a goofy wave. Now, Rhino stopped trying to break free as he says to Arach-Knight, "I hate you so much now, and forever short stack."

Just then...

Her spider-sense kicks in as the Vulture swings down towards her and drags her to the sky. Vulture says while planning on dropping Arach-Knight high in the sky, "ARACH-KNIGHT?! I thought you were an urban legend... No matter, soon you'll be like every other ---" He suddenly stops himself as he and everyone else looks up to the sky to see a tear in the sky with red, magenta, black and blue colors swirling around. Vulture lets in Italian, "È così bello... {It's so beautiful}" he soon finds himself attracted to the swirling vortex in the sky.

All of a sudden there was a great big flash of light that blinded everyone for a second including Mirabel as she lets out a name, "Peter..."

When the flash of light was gone, all of Encanto's villains were gone, those who were captured were gone. Those that were ready to fight were gone too.

Storm-Maker goes over to Soundwave and asks her, "Can you hear them?"

Soundwave listens before answering as she shakes her head, "No, I don't hear any of them. Strangely, it's as if they all went silent."

Camilion walks over and asks, "Am I the only one that finds it strange that all of our villains were seen/ordered to head to this airport, the same airport that Mirabel's plane was supposed to get off? No one finds that a little bit odd?"

Breaker nods her head, "He is right, first the villains we've been fighting against for years, suddenly went underground for a year and then pops up at the airport, that does sound off."

Food Healer looks around on the ground and in the sky and says, "Has anyone seen Arach-Knight?"

The Encantos at the scene look around but nothing. The Camilion says, "So not only do we have supervillains missing but also a new hero missing as well, that is just great," He says sarcastically. "Who else is missing?"

Soundwave's eyes widen in realization as she says, "Guys," catching everyone's attention, "Mirabel's plane landed a couple of minutes ago."

For an hour, the Encantos began looking for Mirabel as their hero selves or in their civilian clothes. But no one could find her, there wasn't even a sound of her. They talked to security, and they did see her leave the airport with Sepna. They tried calling her but nothing. They went home to look for her, but the only people who were there were Abuela, Augustine, Felix, and Antonio, neither has seen her or heard from her. 

Chapter Text

"Okay, this is so weird on so many levels," Mirabel said as she adjusted to her sudden movement and transportation. She was on top of the roof of a building, still in New York City however many things were different. And strange. First off, there was a massive tower where STARK Tower was supposed to be - instead was replaced with a different tower that has a sign on the very top of the roof of the building that says 'Vought'. She was deeply confused. On the plus side; she knew that she was still in New York City because she could see the Statue of Liberty from afar. "Okay so I'm still in New York, but it's all weird."

She looks over the edge of the building that she is on and notices that she is on top of an apartment building in a fairly quiet neighborhood - across the street - There are two things; one an ordinary billboard with a superhero endorsing a drink named after him - which said hero, she did not recognize at all. 

The second thing she sees is an electronic store that has a sale on computers and phones as well. 

Mirabel reached into a back pocket in her belt and grabbed a handful of twenty-dollar bills. "*Phew* Thank you Mom for always telling me to bring cash with me." She swings down in front of the store and opens the door for who she assumes is a store employee who looks at her sheepishly as she walks past her. Mirabel walks in, closing the door behind her. She sees a young curly-haired man who looks like he's in his 20s wearing the store uniform. She walks up to the counter and says, "Hello, I'm sorry to ask this but is it possible for you a computer that is a little cheap? I have like," She counts the money in her hand, "$40. Do you have anything that I can do with 40 bucks?" 

The man thinks for a bit, "Uh, yeah, we, uh, we do. But $40 will get you a phone charger or a phone case. Other than that we have computers that go for 80 dollars." Mirabel snaps her fingers. The man then says, "But we do have a computer in the back that you can use as long as it's for research or for printing stuff out..." 

Mirabel nods her head as she says, "I just need to do some research here and there. My friend accidentally broke my computer so now I got nothing for my project." Which was a lie. The man grabs a note card and writes down the password and username for the computer in the back. He hands her the card and she takes it and says, "Thank you - -" She stops mid-sentence when her spider-sense flares up causing her to look at the main door which rings when someone comes through. When Mirabel looked over at the door, nobody was there. Mirabel narrows her eyes around the store looking for the person or thing. She says to the clerk, "I'm just, uh, going to look around real quick." The man nods his head okaying her to walk around a bit to look at their merchandise for a little. As she does, she taps the side of her mask near the lens - through her POV and the lens, everything goes from a high-tech hub to inferred (similar to Predator). Mirabel can see the room's heat, she looks over at the clerk and sees his body heat, 'He's in the clear...' She walks around some more until she spots someone sneaking in front of the clerk through in inferred. She turns it off for a quick second to see that no one was there - and turns it back on. 'Invisibility, god what a cheap power.' She then grabs a gadget from her utility belt - it was a pair of red paintballs which Mirabel has used a lot of times to see someone who has the power of invisibility. The person is now covered in paint for the two to see shocking the man at the counter. Mirabel walks in the path towards the man prepared to fight. 

"The fuck!" The invisible man shouts. He turns towards Mirabel, "How the fuck did you know I was here?!" 

Mirabel replies, "Oh please, I've met guys who are a lot more sneakier than you plus it doesn't hurt to have inferred." 

The invisible man then says, "I don't want to hurt a little girl- I'm only here for him." 

Mirabel shrugs her shoulders and says, "Well then you're here for me too." She then lungs towards him and delivers an angle uppercut sending him flying across the electronic store and crashing into the wall of TVs. Mirabel turns towards the man, "Stay low," she finally gets a look at his employee I.D., "Hughie?" She looks at him, "Did your parents just get like, drunk after you were born and made that name or," Her spider-sense activated and she catches the invisible man's fist in the air without looking. She faces him twists his arm and says, "Hi." She then punches him right where his kidney is with a hard punch. Which somehow actually hurt him. Mirabel delivers a barrage of punches at the man's side and two times she punches his face as well. 

The invisible man then says, "You're a Supe?" 

Mirabel is confused until she understands, "Yeah I'm a super. Call me Arach-Knight and I can call you," She then kicks him flying in the air and she catches and traps him in a web cacoon from her webshooters. 

The invisible man shouts, "What the fuck is this shit?! Is this cum?!" 

Mirabel goes, "Ew! Where does your mind go? Just ew?" She then turns towards Hughie and says, "See you later Hughie, but I really gotta go," Before she could exit she says before leaving, "Put all of this," motions the damage, "On my bill. Bye." She then completely exits the electronic store and starts swinging from building to building. After swinging around Mirabel finally rests on the roof of a building. "OOF," she takes a breather, "Okay, now that was tiring, hopefully, I can for an evac soon enough." 

Her spider senses kicked in when a sudden voice says

"Not so fast little bug." 

She turns around to see a blonde-haired man lowering himself to the ground, red boots tapping onto the tarmac as he scans Peter from head to toe with almost indifference. "I've been hearing rumors about some vigilante in spandex and a cape webbing up my city all day. Is there anything you have to say for yourself?" 

Mirabel proceeds to clap her hands a bit before saying, "No nothing much just uh, trying to find a better way for transport, you know what I'm saying?" She gestures to the fact that he's flying in the air. "So I'm just going to go and find some help with a little something. Bye." 

Her spider senses flare up causing her to take multiple summersaults away from her initial location a bright and powerful glow of his eyes lights up the roof a fluorescent red, reflecting off a nearby puddle like neon. She looks at the spot and sees an area singed and a burned hole into the roof as well. The man says as he clicks his mouth, "Sorry little girl, I can't let you just run away and let you steal the spotlight from me." He flies scarily slowly towards Mirabel. "I'm going to have to take you out." He flies fast at Mirabel reaching for her throat. 

With her quick reflexes, Mirabel leaps off of the roof just in time lands in the middle of the street, and lands on top of the roof of a car. She looks up and shouts, "Sorry Mr., uh, sir, but no thanks." She then takes off swinging trying to get away from the hero who just tried to kill her. 'Jeez, and here I thought Jackal was a maniac.' Her spider-sense flared again, "Crap." She suddenly lets go allowing gravity to let her drop to the ground just as Homelander charged at her. She lands and sticks to the side of a nearby building. 

Homelander hovers near and over her and says, "Is mommy putting you up to this? Trying to get you famous so she can suckle off your success? Hm? Or is it- don't tell me- that you give a shit about people? Because that's cute. It's fucking cute."

Mirabel becomes pissed. 

"No one talks like that about my mom ever." She then pulls out one of her Xanthium-powered energy blasters. She sets the blaster to stung/nonletahl. 

Homelander then says with a laugh thinking that the blaster was a toy, "Oh, you think a little toy is going to stop me?" Mirabel pulls the trigger and a bright red energy bolt shoots out of the blaster towards Homelander. Homelander, thinking it was nothing wasn't expecting the next thing to happen. The bolt hit him and sent him flying across the street and over the street crashing into one of the nearby buildings, he soon falls down face first onto the street where civilians catch his fall and start recording on their phones. Homelander hisses in pain as he gets up, he notices the burned circle around his suit and chest and he notices something dripping from his eyes, "...Blood...?" 

Everyone nearby was shocked to see Homelander bleeding and injured. 

Mirabel leaps onto the street surprised by this sudden revolution. "Holy shit I was not expecting this." Homelander looks at Mirabel with murderous intent and charges at her, but Mirabel with her quick reflexes shoots Homelander again in the right shoulder stopping and slowing him down. He was still in pain but tried to get up, Mirabel shot him again in the liver, shin, and left shoulder as well. He stops completely in his tracks and falls on his sides in pain as he gasps for air. "I swear to god I was not expecting this." He gets up despite the pain and is about to attack Mirabel but she pulls out Xanthium pellets that once in contact explode into a liquid foam that becomes hardened once in the air and becomes impossible to break through as it is tough like titanium. It did so as it normally would do, however, Homelander started screaming in pain for some odd reason. Confused and scared about what is to come next Mirabel says, "Well, you don't need me here, I'm going to go, and uh, don't worry about the foam it'll dissolve in about an hour or so. Bye." She then swings off. 

Unknown to her... 

Billy Butcher and Highie Cambell were recording everything. Shocked and confusion washed and drowned the two. 

"Holy fuck," Hughie said as it was the only two words he could say. 

"Yeah, we're going to need her on our side mate. And I know the blokes who can help us." Butcher says as he texts his old teammates and Raynor and sends the video of Mirabel taking down and hurting Homelander and making him bleed.
