The end of the endless

Summary:

Time is a fleeting thing to immortal and time is the only thing stronger than ancient and a dragon but at least they can find each other

Work Text:

Time is a thing that nobody can fight against.

How much do you try to make something last forever but you can't.

Sandcastle to skyscraper, all destined to fall apart after some time, and it's not even limited to objects as your memories and your self will disappear.

Childhood to adulthood to elderly, and then death, in a few generations none of your family will even know about you and even if you do something great, in a few centuries you will be nothing.

Cookies shouldn't worry about that, they try to live their lives as best as possible with their current families, but there's a type of cookies who cares about this so much, the immortals who taught they were forever.

She only hears whispers of herself, now once a great queen from the legends became a belief as some ppl believed that she didn't exsit.

Only implications brushed off as a legend, the mighty dragon that was once gone.

That's how much they tried to keep the world together, their legacies together, but it's all gone, and there's no returning back. With the realization of the fact that time moves on, but they never did, and they never can, they just wandered around. It was easier to disguise yourself when nobody knew that you were real or not.

Trying to find different lives but they were soon gone anyway.

Trying to find their old friends, but the time had already gotten to them.

So, they continued wandering, trying to find something to connect to and watching it dissolve away again.
Then one day, they both finally found someone who felt the same, who remembered each other, and the spot of the forest they both knew very well.

"Pitaya Dragon Cookie!"

"Hollyberry Cookie!"

They ran towards each other, embracing each other.

"Finally! ssssomeone…who issn't going to disssappear."

They continued embracing each other silently.
They don't know how long they stayed like this, maybe just a few seconds, maybe a few minutes, or maybe a few millennias.

Just feeling all of the emotions they would have felt, they could do this until the end of the world, but the world had already ended for them. There was a new world now, and their old world was left within the time.

They stopped at some point, staring at each other, trying to say something.

"So, how did the last few millennias treat you?"

It was a pointless question. They both knew the answer.

"Sssso, what are you doing thessse daysss?"

Another pointless question. There's nothing left to do anymore.

And they continued staring at each other.

Until deciding to embrace each other again, but this time, they started kissing.

They both had a few lovers, but none of their kisses felt like this, it was familiar and comforting.
They held hands after the kiss that may have lasted so long or a little.
They looked at each other, knowing where to go.
Their last destination.
