Work Text:

“Come on, Unc! You gotta ask him!”

Benjamin shoved Geronimo’s phone on his face.

“But, what if he rejects me? What if I’m interrupting something important?”
“What if I call him during a mission, and he gets caught?!”

Benjamin sighed.
“That’s not gonna happen…! Just do it! What’s the worst that could happen?”

“What if he dies because I tried to call him?!”
“It would be all my fault!”

Geronimo sobbed and ran away from the phone.

Benjamin groaned.
“Uncle G…”

He shook his head.

Then he got an idea.

On Geronimo’s phone, Benjamin dialed Kornelius.

“Hello, Kickpaw speaking.”

“Hey, Kornelius!”

“Oh, hello Benjamin!”

“Hey uh, you free tonight?”

“Yes, why?”

“My uncle Geronimo wants to go to dinner with you! He’s pretty swamped right now, so he told me to ask you!”

The perfect lie.

“That sounds great! Where should we eat?”

“You know that new Italian place on Gruyère Street?”

“Oh that’s perfect! Tell him I’ll pick him up at 8!”
“Thank you, Benjamin!”

“Anytime!”

The call ended.

Benjamin pumped his fists in victory.
“Now to get ready!”

On his own phone, he called Pandora.

“Geronimo’s going on a date soon, and I could use your help.”

“Say no more!”

Pandora hung up, and within minutes, she was at his house.

“What do we need?” She asked.

“We need an outfit and flowers!”

“Done, done, and done!”

“Let’s head to the tailor!”

Benjamin opened the door and ran out with Pandora.

They headed to Geronimo’s usual shop.

“Okay, what should he wear?” Benjamin asked Pandora.

“I’m thinking classy, but not too formal… Oh, I’ve got it!”
“We need black slacks, a maroon waistcoat, and a black tie!”

They got the clothes, now they needed flowers

They went to the florist and got the multicolored rose bouquet.

Eventually, it was 7 o’ clock, an hour before the date.

“Hey Uncle G!”

Geronimo came downstairs.

“Yes, Benjamin?”

Benjamin tossed him the clothes.
“Put these on! You got a date!”

“A date?! When, with who?!”

“Kornelius is picking you up at 8, so be ready!”

“Kornelius?! Benjamin, what did you do?”

“I did you a favor, Unc! Now go get ready!”

Benjamin pushed Geronimo back into his room.

“You’ll thank me later!”

Geronimo shut the door to his room and got ready.

He was pleasantly surprised by the outfit that was chosen.

He put it on, did his hair, and freshened up.

“How do I look? Bad? Horrible?” Geronimo asked Benjamin, panicked.

“You look fine!”

Benjamin shoved the bouquet in his hands and pushed him to the front door.

“Now get out there and have fun on your date!”

Geronimo gulped and adjusted his tie.

He jumped when the doorbell rang.
He opened the door with shaky hands.

Kornelius was there, in his usual sharp suit and coiffed hair.

“Hello, Geronimo. Are you ready to go?”
He held his hand out.

With a nervous smile, Geronimo took his hand.

“Yes, I am…”

He held up the bouquet in offering.

“Is that for me? Oh, you shouldn’t have…”
Kornelius smiled and took the flowers.
“They’re beautiful.”

Taking him by the hand, Kornelius led Geronimo to the car.

After they drove away, Benjamin called Pandora.

“So we’re definitely going to follow them, right?”

“Of course!”
“But we’ll need a car…”

“Let me take care of that.”

To follow Geronimo and Kornelius on their date, Benjamin enlisted Trap’s help.

Trap drove them to the restaurant.

“My cuz, finally going on a date! I’m so proud!” He wiped away a fake tear.

“Thanks for agreeing to help us.” Benjamin said.

“No problem! Someone has to make sure the date goes well!”

They parked outside the restaurant and found a spot where they could watch the two inside.

They sat down at a table behind Geronimo.

“Should we get some dinner rolls?” Kornelius asked, looking at the menu.

“That sounds delightful…!”

The waitress approached their table.
“And what can I get you?” She asked.

“Can we get a bread bowl and two glasses of red wine?” Kornelius said.

The waitress nodded, wrote it down, and went to the kitchen.

“You look beautiful, Geronimo…”

Geronimo’s cheeks flushed pink.

“You really think so…? Thank you…” He said, avoiding his eyes.

Kornelius chuckled.

“So, how’s it going?” Trap whispered to Pandora.

“It looks like it’s going pretty well…!” She replied.

And the date went on.
Benjamin, Pandora, and Trap watched them as they ate their dinner and talked extensively.

“How does splitting the bill sound?” Kornelius asked.

“Great idea.”

After paying, they walked out of the restaurant, Benjamin, Trap, and Pandora following.

Once they were outside, Kornelius took both of Geronimo’s hands into his own.

“Geronimo, tonight has got me thinking…” He started.

Geronimo gulped.
“Oh no, did I do something wrong? Did this ruin our relationship?” He panicked to himself.

“You are truly the most amazing person I’ve ever met. And this date made me realize just how precious you are to me.”

Geronimo looked up into Kornelius’ eyes as he intertwined their fingers together.

“So…Geronimo…”
“Will you do me the honor of being my boyfriend…?”

Geronimo looked surprised, his mouth just slightly opened in shock.

Benjamin, Pandora and Trap all looked at each other in fear.
“Oh no…”

But Geronimo smiled and threw his arms around Kornelius.

“Yes, oh yes! I would love nothing more!” He cried happily.

Silently, they all high-fived each other.

“Why don’t you go ahead to the car? We can have dessert at my place…”

Kornelius winked at him, making Geronimo’s face go red.

He nodded and climbed into the car.

“You can come out now, Benjamin. I know you’re here.”

Rising from the bushes, Benjamin, Pandora, and Trap gave him a guilty look.

“I figured this was all your doing.”
“I am a secret agent. You can’t hide anything from me.”

“Plus I saw you spying on us in the restaurant.”

“Sorry, Kornelius… It’s just…”
“My uncle has had the biggest crush on you for the longest time… And we all wanna see him happy…” Benjamin apologized.

“Don’t apologize. To be completely honest, I think we needed this push.”
“Thank you, Benjamin, for arranging this. I promise I will take good care of him.” Kornelius smiled.

“I just have one question.”

“Yes?”

“When can I start calling you my uncle?”
