Work Text:
“Don’t be stupid, Dean, you could get a flu.”
“It’s just two blocks, dude!”
“And it’s pouring rain!”
Dean sighs. He looks at the completely fogged windowshop of the bakery shop.
“You’ll get wet,” Dean complains.
“It’s fine, at least I won’t get a flu.”
Dean rolls his eyes. Cas knows it’s a sign of resignation (or victory, depends on who’s the one speaking).
Cas takes off his trenchcoat and hands it to Dean.
Dean takes it, annoyed, but somehow humbled at Cas’ gesture.
He puts it on and can’t help but feel like he’s wearing a costume. Paradoxically, when he looks at Cas, he finds a complete different person, somewhat naked only with the black suit, white dress shirt and navy blue tie.
Dean walks to the door, opens it, and a small bell rings. He takes the neck of the coat all over his head and they both step out of the local shop.
Cas and Dean start jogging back to the motel a few blocks away, looking ridiculous because everyone else around them was carrying umbrellas.
It’s not like Dean doesn’t get wet, but at least he doesn’t get soaked like Cas.
When they arrive to the motel, Cas sighs.
“I really hope that cheesecake is worth it.”
