NIGHT SKY
Prologue

“Dad-”

“No, kid, you need to run. Listen to me. The world is a cruel place.” Sora’s face was covered in blood and bruised. He was holding back the huge wave of darkness, his keyblade's light flickering more and more behind his back. His voice was cracking. He stared into the boy’s eyes.

“When... people get consumed by pain and anger, they do things they never meant to do. I did something...I was never meant to do, I never wanted to do. They took away a good friend of mine kiddo, he was a friend of mine for a long time. They took him away to a world I’d never see him again...” Sora’s voice was low and sincere.

“Well couldn’t you just find him again, with your heart to guide you?!” Yozora screamed through the loud ringing in his ears. Sora’s eyes softened.

“He was taken to a world that...us here can’t reach, when people get their hearts and souls torn from their body, they... can’t be. He’s gone Zora, I can’t get him back...and soon you won’t be able to get me back either.” Sora’s voice was growing slow. His voice breaking under the pressure. His keyblade cracking against the darkness bashing it, the light dimming. The area surrounding them was growing darker. The heavy rain and wind crashing onto the ground.

“I don’t get it dad, what do you mean?!” Yozora couldn’t feel it, but he began crying, a pain in his chest roaring and shuddering his body. His legs felt as though he would collapse at any moment.

“Go find your father, Yozora. Give him this” Sora hands him his prized crown necklace, he never takes it off. Yozora takes it slowly.

“You’ll understand when you’re older, but for now just remember. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Don’t do what I did. Ignore the want for revenge. It’s a horrible feeling, it overtakes you. I’m about to send you back home, find your father, he’ll take you back to a place where you’re safe.” Sora put his hand on Yozora’s shoulder firmly. He swiped it off.

“What are you talking about?! Where are you going? How are you sending me home?!” Yozora started screaming in a wave of emotion. The keyblade behind his father’s back growing dim and cold, now a shade of grey and black. Sora smiled and tilted his head to the side softly.

“I’m seeing an old friend, Kai. He’ll be happy to see me, I hope. I’m paying a price I should have paid a long time ago. Goodbye Yozora, I love you, tell your father I love him too.” Sora finished speaking. His keyblade is now melting and steaming against the dark horrifying wave behind them.

Sora started waving his hands in a motion, the ring on his finger glowing a bright yellow, red and blue. He spoke in words Yozora couldn’t understand. Sora’s veins becoming visible on his face, glowing a bright purple through his brown skin, his hands turning a bright yellow just like light. His voice turned ghostly, his eyes turning pale white.

Yozora stared in shock, unable to move. A red circle appeared below him, circling him. Circles within Circles appeared. Shapes and symbols he couldn’t read glowed fiercely. His father’s face was unrecognizable, like a zombie wielding magic. Sora’s brown hair turned white, and his skin became pale grey.

The keyblade gave way and the cracks leaked darkness all over him. His body was being taken by darkness. His ghastly voice screaming its last words as Yozora starts feeling dizzy and frail, his hands becoming transparent. The world around swirled in a motion. The keyblade cracked loudly and the darkness waved over Sora. In a fast motion, the father said his final words and the son vanished.

“I’m sorry”
