“Tim?”
He hums in response.
“Did you ever think we’d have a life like this?”
Tim turns over to face Lucy, who’d been staring into the dark. She places a hand on his stubble, her thumb gently caressing his jawline. “What do you mean, Luce?”
She sighs, taking in the peace of the night in before replying. “Did you ever think that we’d live the domestic home life? I mean, our jobs are chaotic as is, so I just never thought I’d be able to settle down with someone.”
Tim smiles, his eyes twinkling with adoration. “In the beginning, no.” He exhales before continuing. “But then you showed, and from the moment I realised my feelings for you, I knew I wanted that life with you.”
Lucy’s smile travelled ear to ear, she loved this man, and he truly loved her. She placed her lips on his, kissing him gently. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
