THREE DAYS EARLIER - UNOVA REGION
The repeated flashes and clicks of cameras blind anyone nearby.
"Miss Berlitz! Why are you in the Unova region, and why leave so soon?"
"Well... it's for my daughter's travelling wellfare, and... well..." A navy-blue haired woman with matching eyes in a sparkly pink dress trails off, cameras still flash, and news cameras are rolling. There's another girl with her- her 11 year old daughter, Aquamarine Luster Berlitz.
"Well, as we can see, Dawn Berlitz, world-renowned Pokémon Coordinator, is leaving the Unova region with her daughter, Aquamarine, as we speak." A news anchor says from afar. Aquamarine looks around.
"Mom..." She whispers, looking around the crowd frantically "I know yours's is in it's pokeball, but..." Miss Berlitz's eyes widen as her daughter finishes her sentence. "Where's my-" it's cut off short from a foreign Pokémon's cry, and a blue penguin shoots above the crowd.
"PIP.... LUPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!"
Bubbles and water spew across the crowd, and Aquamarine can make a faint outline of her Pokémon within the spray of water "PIPLUP RETURN!" She shouts, holding out a Pokeball. A red light shoots through the crowd to the creature, as it retracts back into the device.
"Aqua! C'mon!" Miss Berlitz shouts as the crowd recovers from the sudden attack. Both climb the ladder to enter the plane, for it is Aquamarine Berlitz's first summer as a Pokémon trainer, and how much Aquamarine was going to enjoy her time at their beach house in the Alola region.
Then the plane took flight.
ALOLA REGION
The dinging of a two bike bells run through a small town on Melemele Island, Alola Region.
"Haha!" A blonde haired, green eyed, girl laughs "I'm ahead! Litten is mine!" Another girl on a bike smiled maliciously "Not yet sister." She said, an evil grin across her face as she peddled even faster on the bicycle until she reached a slope heading downhill, and began to gain speed rapidly as she went down, easily ahead of the former leader. Both girls looked exactly alike other than their eye color - Topaz and Emerald McIntyre, Emerald's eyes were a viridian green, while Topas's took on a light baby blue.
Topaz's bicycle became out of sight from Emerald's, but the girl who seemed to be losing the race had a plan. "Ha!" She said, ramming her bike into a bike rack outside of a shop, before taking off on foot.

"And... Litten.... is... MINE!" Emerald sung as she swung the doors open to the Pokémon laboratory. Only to be faced with her sister tossing a Pokeball in the air, and the Professor handling the cart, which now only had a Rowlet and Popplio.
"W-What!? NO FAIR! I ACTUALLY BIKED THE ENTIRE WAY! C'MON! NOT FAIR!!! NOT FAIR!!!" Emerald screeched, almost in tears "I WAS ABOUT TO GET THAT LITTEN AND-" She attempted to swipe it from Topaz "I- I-"
"Too bad." Topaz said, tossing the Pokeball which held Litten in the air. Emerald's eyes darted around the room, she hadn't thought of what would happen if she lost the race, her eyes began to switch back and forth from Rowlet to Popplio, each curiously looking, knowing that one of them would have a new home, and hoping it was them.
"Emerald McIntyre, nice to see you." The Professor exclaimed" We have Rowlet and Popplio left." "I... know..." Emerald said, her teeth grinding against each other in annoyance. Both would make great companions, but which one had a better battle build....
"I'll take Rowlet." Emerald decided, the Popplio was making a great show of dancing, spraying small spurts of water, and much more to appeal to Emerald, and had simply stopped the performance at her words, and looked down in a depression-like state. Both girls left laughing as they began their Pokémon journey.
But little did they notice the girl in the corner, talking to a Professor and transferring Pokémon.
"I think I'll keep Sawsbuck for travelling and Eelektross for battle. If you don't mind, could you send over my Luxio?" Aquamarine Berlitz said, smiling "Indeed! Sending now!" The professor replied cheerfully.
The tropical wind whipped through Aquamarine's hair as she left the laboratory, smiled, and followed the signs to the nearest forest trail. Once walking for awhile on the sand-ridden forest trail, Aquamarine believed it was time to stray off the path.
"Sawsbuck! Your time to shine!" She shouted, tossing a Pokeball high into the air. A large deer Pokémon with summer leaves adorning it's antlers burst out, and Aquamarine quickly saddled onto it's back.
"This is the Alola region!" She said, smiling "Excited?"
"Sawsbuck." The Pokémon responded in happiness, Aquamarine smiled "Alright, ready for a ride?"
"SAWSBUCK!" The Pokémon shouted, and off they went.

"Hmph. I will show you that you do not deserve that Litten!" Emerald stated with fury. Topaz smiled "Battle then?" Emerald gave her twin a glare before nodding in anger, ambition, and malice all at once. "Hmph." Topaz said "Litten, go!"
"C'mon out Rowlet!" Emerald shouted, thrusting her Pokeball onto the field. Topaz smiled, knowing she had the advantage.
"Let's see..." Emerald trailed off, thinking of what move to use first.
"Rowlet, use Leafage on Litten!" Emerald decided, smiling. Her new companion preformed the attack flawlessly, although not affecting Litten too much. "Alrighty, my turn then, sis." Topaz commented, before declaring her move "LITTEN! USE SCRATCH!"
"Scratch?" Emerald questioned, laughing, but Topaz kept smiling. "Anyways, Rowlet, why don't you fly above Litten and use Leafage!" Emerald declared with confidence, Rowlet dodged the move by flying above, but instead of using it's move, and shouting out it's name, something else happened.
"SAWSBUCK!"
