(Y/n) sighed as she made her way down a dirt path, the sound of the wheels of her wheel chair rolling down dirt path bended well with the sounds of the forest around her. Her hands throbbed slightly as she gripped the wheels.
(Y/n) let out a sigh as she came to a stop. The eleven-year-old wasn't always stuck in a wheelchair. When she was nine, the girl was hit by a drunk driver, the crash shattered the vertebrae in her lower spine. Leaving her permanently paralyzed. The man was sent to jail but she lost most of her freedom.
Her parents have gotten two extra jobs so they can afford everything she needs, but they were always busy. She was always alone, she had no friends, one of the things that makes her happy was rolling through the forest.
"Man, I wish something interesting would happen! I've been through this forest so many times I know it like the back of my own hand" (Y/n) said, folding her hands in her lap.
"Now I'm talking to myself…god I'm lonely". Suddenly she heard something from behind her. Before she could turn her head to look, something blue rushed passed her. The force of what rushed passed knocked her and her chair over, the girl grunted when she fell to the ground. Whatever knocked her over, came to a screeching halt.
"Sorry about that! Should have seen you there" a voice said, the girl looked up to see a large, blue, hedgehog approaching her. The hedgehog lifted the chair off of the ground and placed it up right, then he walked over to the girl and lifted her into his arms and placed her back into her chair.
"I-it's ok, thanks" (Y/n) said, nervously playing with her fingers. Looking up at the hedgehog, who was slightly taller than her.
"You ok?" the hedgehog asked, causing her to flitch slightly.
"I-I'm ok, I'm just not used to talking to people…er, hedgehogs… I'm sorry, I'm a bit awkward" (Y/n) said, blushing in embarrassment.
"No need to apologize, My name is Sonic what's yours?" Sonic asked, smiling at the girl.
"I'm (Y/n) (L/n), come to think of it, I seen you on T.V. before" (Y/n) said, Sonic's eyes widened slightly.
"Really? I didn’t think that those news reporters where fast enough to film me" Sonic said, causing the girl to giggle.
"I saw you fighting that man with the robots, uh… what was his name? um…egg…butt?" (Y/n) asked, Sonic started to laugh catching the girl off-guard.
"E-EGGBUTT?! That is the best thing I've ever heard!" Sonic said, laughing hard as he clutched his stomach. (Y/n) started to laugh, coming out of her shell.
"He is a butthead!" (Y/n) said, as sonic wiped tears from his eyes.
"You're not bad (Y/n), you're pretty funny" Sonic said, causing the girl to smile.
"If you don't mind me asking, why are you out here? Seems like you would get stuck easily out here" Sonic asked, (Y/n)'s smile dropped slightly.
"Well... my parents are always busy and I don't have any friends, so I mostly roll though the forest on my own" (Y/n) said, looking down sadly.
"Wait, you don't have any friends?" Sonic asked, rather shocked.
"Yeah, not many kids my age want to hang out with me. I'm not very fast and as I said before, I'm pretty awkward. I've even been told that I just slow people down… so I'm mostly on my own" (y/n) said, clutching her fists.
Sonic wasn't really sure what to say, he felt bad for her. It wasn't her fault that she was in a wheelchair, and just saying that she slows people down was just cruel.
"Hey" (Y/n) looked up to see that hedgehog smiling at her.
"How about you and me hang out? We can go to your house if you want?" Sonic asked. (Y/n)'s eyes widened at the request. Sonic, a hero that she had seen on the news so many times, wants to hang out with her.
"Y-Yeah! I'd like that, I have a few video games that we can play" (Y/n) said, with a large smile on her face. Sonic nodded before he walked around her and grabbed the handles of her wheelchair.
"So where do you live" Sonic asked, causing (Y/n) to turn to look at the hedgehog.
"Not too far, it's in the direction I was going. Once we leave the forest I'll tell you where to go" (Y/n) said, Sonic nodded before he got into a running stance.
"Hold on tight, alright?" Sonic said, (Y/n) hummed and gripped arm rests of her wheelchair. Sonic then dashed forwards, the wind smacking the girl in the face.
As sonic ran (Y/n) gave him directions to the best of her ability, it was hard since she wasn't used to going at such high speeds. The two arrived at a two story house that was rather secluded, only surrounded by some trees and flowers. It was a rather peaceful sight.
The hedgehog let out a long whistle as he surveyed the area. (Y/n) shook slightly from the adrenalin rushing though her veins, she had never gone so fast before. Sonic looked down at the girl worriedly, concerned if she got hurt from the speed. Suddenly the girl laughed, catching Sonic off guard.
"That was amazing! I have never gone that fast before!" (Y/n) said, smiling wildly at the hedgehog who relaxed and smiled back.
"How about those video games, yeah?" Sonic asked, the girl nodded as sonic rolled up to the door. Once the girl unlocked the door the two entered.
"I'm guessing the video games are in the living room right?" Sonic asked, releasing the handles of the girl's wheelchair.
"Yeah, it's on the right" (Y/n) said as sonic closed the front door. She gripped the wheels on her chair and lead the hedgehog to the living room.

After a few hours of playing games, and Sonic losing half of the time, the front door opened and two people entered the house.
"(Y/n), sweetie, we're home" (Y/n) perked as she heard the familiar voice.
"Oh, my mom and dad are home!" the girl said, turning to Sonic who smiled.
"We're in the living room mom and dad!" (Y/n) said happily.When (Y/n)'s mom entered the room, she was surprised to see sonic with her daughter.
"Oh my! I never thought I'd see the day!" (mom's name) said, placing her hands on her hips. (dad's name) walked into the room and was surprised to also see the famous blue hedgehog.
"Well this is a surprise!" (D/n) said, walking over to the blue blur.
"Nice to meet ya! Never thought that we'd get to meet a hero!" the man said, shaking Sonic's hand.
"I met him when I was in the forest, we've been playing videogames" (Y/n) said, smiling at her father.
"Would you like to have dinner with us?" (M/n) asked, catching the hedgehog off-guard.
"I shouldn't I have to get home soon, but if you want (Y/n), I can take you to meet a friend of mine tomorrow?" (Y/n) nodded eagerly causing her parents to smile.
"Well I hope you two have fun tomorrow, it's a shame you can't join us sonic" (m/n) said, as sonic got up from the couch and made his way to the front door.
"What are you having tonight, honey?" (Y/n)'s father asked (M/n).
"Chilidogs!" Sonic paused, he slowly turned around with a sheepish smile.
"Well, it would be rude to refuse a good meal" Sonic said, causing both (D/n) and (m/n) to laugh.

After 40 minutes the food was ready and the four ate, as they ate they chatted a bit. (Y/n)'s parents asked sonic a few questions, which he answered, and the hedgehog learned more about (Y/n) situation after the girl went to bed. She was exhausted after the day's events.
"When it happened… we… we weren't sure that she would survive" (M/n) said, her eyes filled with tears.
"If that man wasn't behind the wheel, our little girl would still be able to walk" (D/n) said, clenching his fists.
"That's horrible" Sonic said with frown.
"We owe you so much, Sonic" (M/n) said, causing the hedgehog to look at her curiously.
"For the past two years, (Y/n) was so sad…she lost most of her freedom when she was in that accident" (D/n) said, looking over at his wife.
"We rarely see her smile, just seeing her so happy today and so excited for tomorrow, brings us so much joy" (M/n) said, wiping away a few tears.
"You don't need to thank me, (Y/n) seems like a good kid!" Sonic said, causing the two to smile.
"Guess I better head back home now" Sonic said, getting up from his chair.
"Alright, what time will you be coming to pick (Y/n) up?" (D/n) asked.
"Does noon sound good?" Sonic asked.
"That will work! we'll make sure she knows" (M/n) said, walking Sonic to the front door.
"Alright, see you tomorrow" Sonic then took off, running back to where him and his friend, Tails, lived. The two lived in a semi-large house on a cliff side, next to the house was a hanger where the X tornado was stored.
"There you are! I didn't expect you to be out most of the day, did you enjoy your run?" Tails, a yellow fox with two tails asked.
"It was good, I made a new friend today, I'm bringing her up tomorrow to meet ya!" Sonic said, walking over to his buddy.
"Really? Alright! I'd like to meet her!" Tails said, smiling at the hedgehog. great, maybe we can see if we can take her to meet Amy, cream, and vanilla?" Sonic asked.
"Yeah, I'll call tomorrow and see if we can bring her over" Tails said.
"Also one more thing buddy" Sonic said, gaining Tails' attention.
"She was in a pretty bad car accident two years ago, so she's stuck in a wheelchair" Sonic said.
"What really? That's horrible" Tails said, in a saddened tone.
"Yeah, just thought I'd give you a heads up. She's really nice, I think you'd like her" Sonic said, winking at the small fox, causing Tails to roll his eyes.
"Well, I can't wait to meet her" Tails said, before heading to his room.
"Goodnight!" Tails called out.
"Night tails" Sonic called back, before heading to his own room.

Soon it was the next day and noon rolled around, sonic was already at (Y/n)'s home. He knocked on the door and was greeted by (Y/n).
"Hi sonic!" (Y/n) said, smiling brightly as her mother approached from behind.
"Take good care of her, alright?" (M/n) asked, with a smile. "No worries, I'll be sure she'll be safe and sound" Sonic said, stepping aside so then the girl could roll past him.
"Thank you" (M/n) said, as sonic moved to grip the handles of (Y/n)'s wheelchair. He pushed her out to the main pathway and turned back to face the girl's mother.
"Have fun alright!" (M/n) called out to her daughter. "I will mom!" (Y/n) said. The woman smiled as sonic took off running.
Within a few minutes, Sonic and (Y/n) arrived and was greeted by Tails, who was standing in front of the house.
"Nice to meet you, my name is Tails" Tails said, Approaching the girl.
"I'm (Y/n), it's nice to meet you as well!" the girl said, shaking hands with the fox.
"Hope you don't mind, but we're going to take you to go meet a few more friends of ours" Sonic said, causing the girl to turn her head.
"Really? I'd love too!" (Y/n) said, happily.
"I told our friends about you, so they wanted to meet you. We're going to go over for tea and cake" Tails said.
"Cool! How are we going to get there?" the girl asked.
"Tails has a plane, called the X tornado" Sonic said, (Y/n)'s eyes widened.
"For real?! I've always wanted to fly in a plane!" the girl said excitedly. The hedgehog and the fox smiled as the three made their way to the hanger where Tails' plane was. The yellow fox spun his two tails and began to fly, causing the girl's eyes to widen. Tails offered both his hands to the girl, to which she took, and he flew her to the back seat of the plane. Sonic then folded up the girl's wheel chair and threw it up to Tails, who placed it behind the girl's seat.
Sonic then jumped up onto the wing of the plane as Tails got into the pilot seat.
"You ready, (Y/n)?" Tails asked, turning his head to hand the girl a pair of goggles and a headset. (Y/n) grabbed the goggles and headset, placed them on, and bucked her seatbelt. (Y/n) nodded happily as Sonic got into position.
Tails drove the plane out from the hanger and down the runway and into the air. (Y/n) looked out from the side of the air plane, her eyes full of wonder.
"This is so cool!" (Y/n) exclaimed, turning to Sonic who was on the wing next to her.
"Pretty cool huh?" Sonic said, speaking into the headset that tails have given him who he boarded the plane.
"Are you enjoying yourself so far, (Y/n)?" Tails asked, keeping his eyes forwards.
"This is so amazing Tails! I can see everything from up here!" (Y/n) said joyously.
"We'll be at our destination in ten minutes, so soak in everything that you can see!" Tails said, (Y/n) smiled and turned her head back to the side of the plane and out into the vast blue sky.
Soon the trio arrived and Tails landed the plane. Tails landed the plane a good distance away from a small, pink, house. Once the plane was off, Sonic helped the girl down from the plane by lifting her into his arms and jumping off. Tails few up from his seat and grabbed the girl's wheelchair. Once the wheelchair was on the ground and set up properly, sonic placed the girl in the wheelchair. The front door of the house opened to reveal two rabbits, a tall and short one. The tall rabbit was obviously the shorter one's mother. The short rabbit came running up to the trio with a small little blue creature fallowing behind her. She came to a stop once the reached the tree and smiled brightly.
"Hello Mr. Sonic, Tails! Is the girl you were talking about on the phone?" the small rabbit asked.
"Yeah, this is (Y/n)! (Y/n) meet Cream and her friend Cheese" Sonic said. (Y/n) smile warmly at the rabbit before her as Cheese flew closer to investigate the girl.
"It's nice to meet you Miss (Y/n)!" Cream said, gently grabbing the girl's hand and shaking it gently.
"It's nice to meet you as well Cream!" (Y/n) said, now turning her attention to small chao flying near her head.
"Nice to meet you too, Cheese!" (Y/n) said, raising her hand up to the small creature, who took her hand enthusiastically.
"Chu, chu!" Cheese exclaimed shaking the girl's hand, causing the girl to giggle.
"It's nice to meet you, dear. I am cream's mother, my name is vanilla" the tall rabbit said, walking over to the group. "it's nice to meet you too, Vanilla" (Y/n) said, as Vanilla got close enough to shake the girl's hand.
"Amy is in the kitchen, she's preparing the tea and cake. Come inside, won't you?" Vanilla asked, stepping aside. The group then made their way to the house and went inside. Vanilla directed the girl to the dining room and both Tails and Sonic fallowed. Sonic pulled away a chair from a round table in to the center of the room, so she could park herself at the table.
"I can't wait for tea and cake, I'm sure it's going to be so good!" (y/n) said, as Tails and Sonic sat down next to her.
"Vanillia's tea and baking is really good, you'll love it! She actually grows her own tea leaves" Sonic said, smiling at the girl.
"Actually, Amy is the one baking" Tails started, gaining the blue blur's attention.
"From what I have heard, she's pretty good!" Tails said.
"Well, I can't wait to try it! What is Amy like anyways?" (Y/n) asked. Sonic stiffened and Tails laughed awkwardly.
"Well she is pretty nice, but she tends to be a bit…." Sonic paused, trying to find the right words.
"She's a bit obsessive and can be pretty scary when she's angry" Tails said, causing sonic to relax a bit. "yeah that's it" Sonic said.
Suddenly Vanilla, Cream and Cheese, and a pink hedgehog walked in to the dining room with cake and tea.
"Hello! My name is Amy Rose! It's nice to meet you!" Amy said, smiling at the girl who smiled back.
"It's nice to meet you too! I'm (Y/n), I heard that you baked the cake? I can't wait to try it!" (Y/n) said, Amy smiled as she placed the girl's plate in front of her. Once done, Amy took her seat next to Sonic.
"So (Y/n) would you like one lump or two? Would you also like cream?" Vanilla asked, preparing to pour the girl's tea.
"Oh…um two is fine, and yes I would like some cream please!" (Y/n) said. Vanilla smiled and placed two sugar cubes into the girl's cup and poured in the tea and cream. Vanilla handed the girl her tea and gave her a small spoon, telling her to stir it all up. Soon everyone had tea and cake and stared eat and drink.
"So (Y/n), are things going well for you? Are you enjoying school?" Vanilla asked, taking a bite out of her slice of cake.
"Yeah, things are going pretty good for me! I made two new friends, hopefully three more!" (Y/n) said, causing the three girls to smile.
"School is going pretty well, I like my teachers." (Y/n) said, before take a bite of her piece of cake and sipping her tea.
"Any favorite subjects?" Tails asked.
"Oh, I like (favorite subject 1) and (favorite subject 2)" (Y/n) said.
"Those are good subjects Miss (Y/n)!" Cream said, sipping from her cup of tea. Cheese gave out a 'chu, chu' before licking the frosting off on his little nubs.
"Thanks, but you don't have to keep calling me miss (Y/n), (Y/n) is just fine!" (Y/n) said, smiling at the young rabbit.
"Alright, mi- (Y/n)" Cream said, correcting herself. (Y/n) smiled before turning her attention to both Vanilla and Amy.
"The cake and tea are really good! From what I heard, you grow your own tea leaves? That's awesome!"(Y/n) said, causing the two to smile. The group had fun talking and getting to know each other. The three girls fell head over heels for (Y/n), she was so kind and cute. They, were saddened when they heard how the girl was stuck in the wheelchair.
"Hey sonic, is there a chance I could talk to you in private?" Tails asked, Sonic quirked his brow but agreed. The two excused them self's and went into another room.
"Is something wrong buddy?" Sonic asked.
"I want to build her a custom wheelchair" Tails said, catching Sonic off guard.
"I need you to take her somewhere so I can get to work, I'm going to need to examine her wheelchair so I know what I'm working with" Tails said, the blue blur smirked and crossed his arms.
"Oooh, you like her don't you little buddy?" Sonic teased, causing the fox to roll his eyes.
"Can you take her to Angel island, it would be good for her to meet knuckles. She'd defiantly love it there. I mean, it's not every day you can go visit a floating island" Tails said, Sonic nodded and both him and Tails walked back into the dining room.
"(Y/n) do you want to meet another friend of mine?" Sonic asked, gaining the girl's attention.
"Sure! I'd love too! Is he here?" (Y/n) asked.
"His name is Knuckles, and he lives on a floating island called angel island" Sonic said.
"Are you sure taking her to Angel island is a good idea?" Amy asked, in a concerned tone.
"A floating island? Sign me up!" (Y/n) exclaimed while fist pumping in the air. Sonic smiled as he walked over and pulled out her wheel chair from the table.
"There's your answer!" Sonic began before her turned to look at the girl in his arms.
"Hope you don't mind, but I'll have to leave your wheelchair here" Sonic said. (Y/n) smiled and shook her head.
"I don’t mind!" (Y/n) said. Then sonic ran out of the house, Tails grabbed the girl's wheelchair and started to rolled it out to his plane.
"Tails? Where are you going with her wheelchair?" Vanilla asked, gaining the attention of Cream and Amy.
"I'm building her a custom wheelchair, and I need to use this as a type of blue print. I could probably have her new chair done in a few weeks at most" Tails said.
"Aww, Tails! That's so sweet!" Amy said, clasping her hands together and smiling.
"That’s very nice of you Tails!' Vanilla said with a smile.
"She'll love it" Cream said with Cheese cheering beside her. Tails blushed and rubbed the back of his head.
"I figured that it would be a good idea, since she seems to get around a lot. Her hands must hurt from wheeling around everywhere" Tails said, embarrassed from the sudden praise.
"Any who, would you mind taking some containers of cake? Two are for you and Sonic, and two are for (Y/n)'s parents" Amy asked.
"Sure, thanks Amy!" Tails said. Amy smiled and got up from her seat and walked to the kitchen.

With Sonic and (Y/n), they were almost at their destination.
"(Y/n) look, you can see the island!" the girl cracked her eyes open that were closed due to the wind being in her face, and gasped at the sight of the floating island. She then noticed how high and far way the island was, and she glanced nervously at the hedgehog.
"A-Are you sure we can make that?" the girl asked, nervously.
"Yep, I just need to go a bit faster!" Sonic said, speeding up and the girl braced herself. Once sonic was sure he was with in jumping distance he jumped and the girl squealed in fear. (look, let's just pretend that angel island is somewhat close to land, makes things easier)
Sonic landed on the island and continued to run till he reached the center of the island where there was a temple. He ran up the steps and was greeted by a shocked, red, echidna. Sonic then quickly handed the girl to the echidna, who promptly took her.
"Hey Knux! This is (Y/n), (Y/n) this is Knuckles! Tell her about the island and the master emerald! Kay, thanks, bye!" Sonic then suddenly left, leaving the two alone. Knuckles looked at the girl and the girl looked at him, both were equally confused.
"So….how does this island float?".

"So the island floats because of the master emerald's power, and the master emerald can increase or decrease the seven chaos emeralds powers? The chaos emeralds are also extremely powerful, and can be used for both good and evil? And the chaos emeralds where brought by an ancient alien race to this planet?" (Y/n) asked, trying to get her facts straight.
"That's pretty much it, and it's my job to protect the master emerald from anyone who tries to take it" Knuckles said, who was leaning up against one of the pillars of the temple. The two were currently sitting on top of the temple with the master emerald, (Y/n) was sitting against the same pillar that Knuckles was leaning against.
"I'm sorry, about your situation I mean, it must be rough" Knuckles said, looking down at the girl.
"It can be at times, losing the ability to walk and run…it's hard. I am glad I met Sonic! Even though I've only known him for a day and a half, he's made my life so much more fun! I even got to meet you and the others!" (Y/n) said, causing the echidna to smirk. Suddenly knuckles noticed something in the sky, a female bat who was flying over the island.
"Oh no! not this time you screwy bat!" Knuckles said, pushing himself off from the pillar he was leaning against.
"Knuckles?" (Y/n) asked worriedly.
"My, my! Look at what we have here~" the bat said, landing down on the temple.
"Get out of here! You're not getting your grubby hands on the master emerald!" Knuckles said, clutching his fists.
"I'm not here for the emerald, I'm here for the girl." The bat said, pointing to (Y/n) who seemed to recognize the bat.
"Not while I'm here!" Knuckles said, getting ready to fight.
"Knuckles, wait! I know her!" (Y/n) exclaimed, causing the red echidna to stop.
"What?" Knuckles gave the girl a shocked look.
"I met her two years ago." the bat said, walking past Knuckles and over to the girl.
"How are you sweetie? Where's your wheelchair?" the bat asked.
"I'm good rouge! Sonic was the one that brought me here, he couldn't take both me and my wheelchair. (Y/n) said, as Rouge kneeled down to the girl's height.
"How is Uncle John?" (Y/n) asked. (if you don't have an uncle, now you do!)
"He's good, still can't believe how much you've grown, I don't think shadow will even recognize you. Rouge said, smiling warmly.
"Does he even know that I was in an accident?" (Y/n) asked. Rouge thought for a moment before she stood up.
"I'm not sure, he's been pretty busy for the past few years" Rouge admitted.
"You know shadow?" Knuckles asked, butting into the conversation.
"Sort of, I've only met him a few times. All before I was in that accident" (Y/n) said.
"Well, I should let you know that your Uncle along with Shadow have gotten back from their month long mission and they have two weeks off." Rouge said, causing the girl to smile.
"John wanted to know if you wanted to spend the day at his work place next week?" Rouge asked.
"Sure! I'll let my parents know, it's been so long since I've seen him!"(Y/n) said, excitedly.
"Wait, you have family that works at G.U.N?" Knuckles asked.
"Yeah! He's the head of the weapons department! He makes sure that all of the soldiers have good weapons" (Y/n) said.
"Any who, it's getting late. Do you need a lift back home hun?" Rouge asked.
"No need, I got her Rouge!". The trio turned their heads and saw that Sonic was there.
"Oh hi Sonic!" (Y/n) said as the hedgehog approached the group. Sonic gently lifted the girl into his arms, and turned to face the other two.
"Sorry that I took so long, Tails had me run few errands for him, and we figured it would be a good idea for me to drop (Y/n) off here for here to meet you Knux!" Sonic said.
"That's why you were in a rush" Knuckles said, folding his arms.
"I'll see you soon, sweetheart~" Rouge said, before she took off into the sky.
"We better get going too, see you soon Knux!"Sonic said before he took off running.
With in a few minutes Sonic arrived back at (y/n)'s home where Tails plane was parked. (Y/n) opened the door and Sonic walked back inside. Sonic walked into the living room where the girl's parents and Tails were at.
"Hi mom, hi dad!" (y/n) said, as Sonic walked over to the girl's wheelchair and placed her in it.
"Hello honey, did you enjoy your day? You were gone for quite some time." (M/n) asked, smiling at her daughter.
"Yeah! I made a bunch of new friends, and uncle John is back from a mission and wants to hang out with me next week!" (Y/n) said. Both her parents gave her surprised look and nodded.
"How fun! It's been some time since you've seen your uncle" (D/n) said.
"You have an uncle?" Tails asked, tilting his head.
"I think I overheard something about him working for G.U.N" Sonic said, folding his arms.
"Yes, my brother is the top weapons specialist at G.U.N" (M/n) said, causing both Tails' and Sonic's eyes to widen.
"Really? That pretty impressive!" Tails said, causing (Y/n) to smile and nod.
"I like uncle John, he's really fun!" (Y/n) said.
"Awesome, I hope you have fun! Me and Tails have to go now, see you next week (Y/n)?" Sonic asked.
"Sure, after my day with my uncle, we can hang out!" (Y/n) said, sonic nodded and gave the girl a thumbs up before he and Tails left.
