I like you, Eun-seob.
Those words rang like wind chimes, making melodic sounds. It was those three words that Eun-seob had longed to hear for the longest time, but why was it that he had only managed to reply "okay"? Was it because of the utter shock of hearing those words from the woman he had loved ever since he was a kid?
Partly, yes, but there was more to it.
Hearing those words was really similar to hearing the ringing of wind chimes, as they are both sounds that bring anticipation to an end. They both end the endless fear of longing for something to happen and transform it into a sense of relief, but that's not always the case. Sometimes, it brings fear more than anything.
Did she really mean those words? Who was it that entered the door?
For Eun-sob, Hae-won's confession felt like the latter. It was intoxicating, yet suffocating, and he cannot bear the latter. That's why all he had managed to say was okay.
