Chapter Text
Reader lives in a village and ends up in the hospital for a couple of weeks. Y/n doesn't believe in God, but the visits from the local priest help a lot.
I wrote this for comfort when I was feeling constantly tired; just a little something to read before falling asleep. I will try to post every Tuesday and Saturday. There will be 13 chapters.
This is my first time posting so the chapters are kind of short, plz don't expect too much 👀
Fic:
Gerard priest walks the white and lime painted halls of a humble hospital…
The tiny village and its grassy, flowery meadows, had been worried; for the sickness you were afflicted with seemed to worsen.
The picnics without you weren't the same. One of your friends was especially noticing it, missing you even with their busy schedule and stressful life.
When the doctors allowed the priest to enter your room, he talked to you about your beloved friend. It made you smile to remember them. The young reverend's eyes really did reflect God, the kindness of Crist and the understanding of the holy Spirit .
While holding each other's hands, you look to him, searching for a hope, your eyebrows knitting in the hurting silence.
"You are young my dear, this fever will be gone by next week. And then, you and your friend will have a whole free week, to walk the meadows and go swim in the river to celebrate the summertime."
You replied embarrassed, looking up as you felt your slightly stuffed nose "I sure hope the lord hears you…" a sigh closed your wishful eyes.
Knowingly, the father responded with a smile. "You know, It might just work faster if you pray every night before sleeping."
You sheepishly sighed "Well, i guess it won’t hurt to try…" you rubbed the back of your neck.

After a sincere goodbye and wishing you well, you were once again alone in one of the limed rooms inside this tiny hospital .
With the support of the far away Moon surrounded by the stars above, you prayed for the lord and angels to hear your pleas.
When the verses ended, the sound of blades of grass being swayed by the wind accompanied your sleep in a subtle, sweet lullaby.
