I've made some real big mistakes

Summary:

My heart sank. Am I hallucinating? Oh please please *please* don’t let this be real.

I took a step. I must be seeing things, am I that addicted I’m even having a dream?

Another step. Please tell me this is a dream. I touched the statue. The stone felt cold, the carvings were intricate and detailed. And so *very* real.

The face of the Anemo archon seemed to be taunting me.

I took the last few steps to be right in front of the statue and stared it down as I realized the sheer depth of my predicament.

I’ve somehow made my way into a game. And that game just *had* to be Genshin Impact.

Chapter 1: I've made some real big mistakes

Summary:

I touched the statue. The stone felt cold, the carvings were intricate and detailed. And so very real. Golden details and a distinct blue glow emanating like a pillar that reached the sky.

The face of the Anemo archon seemed to be tauntingly still.

I took the last few steps to be right in front of the statue as I realized the sheer depth of my predicament.

I’ve somehow made my way into a game. And that game just had to be Genshin Impact.

Chapter Text

I shivered as the cold air swept over me, half asleep, I open my eyes to see unfamiliar terrain. What in the- a forest? Hold on I was just in my room- The winds seemed to have something against me as it rustled through the foliage around, creating sounds that worsened the goosebumps already caused by the cold.

I get off the ground, dusting off dirt, my feet immediately prick up with discomfort as I place my socked soles on the ground. I could feel the little rocks poking the thick polyseter of my socks as I look around and see a mountain a long while away from where I stood. It was a normal mountain, covered in snow. Explained the cold air even with me wearing sweatpants and all. But, what the hell was that on the top.

I can barely make out the shape of a pillar thing with glowing pits and floating rocks. I spuint but I can't seem to make up any other details as the clouds obstruct my view. The hell, maybe it's a rich guy's mansion or something, I say to myself and turn around.

I was walking away from the mountain, towards what i think is a pine forest, lightly scattered trees and berries on perfectly green grass and bits of gravel stabbing by poor feet. A few critters skittered about, scaring the wits out of me more times than I could admit.

I see a clearing up ahead, an elevation of a few stones that seemed like a ragged, grassy form of stairs. Approaching this formation, my lungs siezed as I saw what sat atop it.

My heart sank. Am I hallucinating? Oh please please please don’t let this be real.

I took a step.

I must be seeing things, am I that addicted I’m even having a dream?

Another step.

Please tell me this is a dream. I felt my legs weaken and my feet felt as if they were bleeding from the trudge as they started weakly tripping over the rocks, until I had clear sight of the tall, inposing structure.

I sat down on my heels, knees facing in front of my ans my head in my hands, and decided to take a breather. Anxiety seemed to swallow me whole, breaking down and blurring my senses as I grew more sensitive to the noises around me. The rustling of lizards and bugs, the glow of the crystalflies, I even get startled by the wind blowing past me.

Well, it could definitely be worse, I reasoned to myself, ignoring the way my eyes were starting to grow moist. After all, I could have been brought to some horror game I have no clue about. Atleast this is a place where I can survive by walking around, I mean theres the cooking fires and stuff, plus this os Mondstadt so the locals wouldn't be so unwelcoming, right??

I can try to survive off of wild fruits and berries and drinking water is fairly easy to find around streams near the big tree. That is if it's clean though.

But I would like a change of clothes, and normal civilization things like cooked, clean, processed food and a roof to sleep under. I could try joining the adventurer’s guild since that would give me a stable source of income but I don't remember how to apply. I might be able to get some mora to buy clothing that didn’t have me stick out like a sore thumb if I dig around some treasure chests that I hoperully can reach without fighting or doing any physically challenging stunts.

That is if they haven’t been found already, and I’m not about to go around a whole nation to scour for chests without teleport waypoints. Plus, I can’t even defend myself, I wish I had a vision but that’s a one in a million chance. I definitely wanna find a way to go home too.

I massage my face and stand up, tiny rocks prickling my feet as I shifted my weight. Rubbing my eyes to stay alert, and ignoring the tears I swiped away in one motion, I decide on my destination.
