“What the hell are you doing here?”
“I was just asking myself the same thing.”
Liam looked up at Theo with wide eyes. A warm sensation spreading throughout his entire body, centring in places that Theo had been touching moments ago. If Liam allowed himself a few seconds to close his eyes, he had no doubt that he would be able to recall the blissful sensation of warmth and safety that overwhelmed him whenever Theo touched him, but now, he had to remain in reality…’hospital’ ‘elevator’ ‘Gabe’ ‘Hunters-’
Theo had saved him. Again.
Both boys stood in silence, gazing deeply into each other’s eyes. Then lips. Then eyes. Then lips. Liam couldn’t be sure, but he swore he heard Theo’s heart skip a beat, then speed up rapidly. This would’ve been all the more amusing if Theo couldn’t hear Liam’s heart doing exactly the same thing.
Theo’s breathing got deeper and heavier as his eyes darted over Liam’s face. This is it, he thought, it’s him. It’s Liam.
Theo recalled silently the exact moment he knew that he was in love with Liam; he was riding that stupid ghost riders horse, not having a single clue what he was doing as he tried to save his friends, and in that moment he had made Theo smile, the most genuine, toothy grin that had passed his lips in a very long time, but even before that moment, Theo had known that there was an unspoken connection between them. Liam had saved him from the depths of hell, and then in the hospital when they were fighting against the Ghost Riders.
But Theo had never been able to tell if Liam had felt the same connection between them. Liam was terrible at hiding his Chemo Signals, but he had never been able to decipher their meaning. He caught Liam’s subtle glances, or the intensity in his eyes, but he had never been sure.
Until right now.
“Are they still out there?” Theo chocked out, practically gasping for breath.
Liam nodded tentatively; his breathing clearly uneven.
And then they were facing each other, and all the emotions that they had so carefully kept barricaded had melted away behind their eyes.
Liam had made the first move, practically jumping into Theo’s already open arms as he wrapped his arms around the Chimera neck. They collided messily, but as their lips met it was soft and gently, and incredible sweet.
Theo’s arms wrapped tightly around the werewolf’s waist as Liam gripped the Chimera’s face passionately with his palms, his fingers threading into his soft brown hair ‘Liam had literally dreamt of his moment.’ Any fear that Liam had felt, melted away in that brief -too brief- moment of passion between them. Both boys were electrified with the elevation of the kiss.
It was fast paced, but deep and passionate, it was everything they had ever imagined and more. When the kiss finally ended, they stayed wrapped around each other in a tight embrace for a while. This time Theo could read Liam’s Chemo signals clearly,
Love. Love. Love.
Neither of them had to say it, or anything else for that matter, because they both knew. They had always known. They were inevitable, they belonged together, it was going to happen one way or another.
“Please don’t leave me” Liam whimpered into the crock of Theo’s warm neck, breathing in his unique scent. He could hear the older boys rapid heartbeat, and feel it against his cheek. He never wanted to leave the Chimera’s arms; he had never felt so safe before.
“Never Li” Theo whispered back, and the sincerity in his tone almost brought tears to Liam’s eyes, “stay with me.”
“Always.” Liam smiled softly as he moved his head slightly to look up at the marginally taller boy. Their eyes glistened in the dimed light of the hospital elevator. It was almost Deja vu.
Theo reached down and grabbed Liam’s hand; his immediate thought was that he never wanted to let go.
“Are you ready Little wolf?” Theo asked, a confident smile spread across his face as he gazed down at the beautiful boy next to him.
“I am if you are” Liam answered softly, more content now then he had ever been in the past year, despite, you know, the possibility of death quickly approaching outside the elevator doors.
“Let’s fight” Theo growled, squeezing Liam’s hand in his own as he pushed down on the button that would open the elevator doors with his free hand.
With one last fleeting glance at each other, the doors pinged open, and they flew out together -hand in hand- passion and determination to protect each other from whatever was on the other side.
‘Don’t you dare leave me now.’
