Lily

Summary:

One day after fucking up, and the Powderpuffs ruining everything, Boomer decides it's a good idea to run away (with his best friend too, of course) to the woods, where his new friend Viper lives. It's a great idea, he thought

It wasn't.

Notes:

Viper belongs to eleanorose123 on deviantart

Work Text:

Mandy and Boomer were walking, side by side. They both said nothing.

"Which way is it...?" Asked Mandy.

Her voice was low and melancholy, as usual.

"Left!" Chirped Boomer.

It was left. The cabin place where Viper lived. Or whatever it was called, wherever she lived. He knew Viper lived there. And he knew the way because he'd gone there so many times before.

And he was going again. For a long time. He wouldn't be leaving that place for a long time. Not after what happened. Not after...

Boomer adjusted his wide-framed glasses.

There were other things to think about. Better things. Nicer things, like...like...

"Is this it?"

Boomer stared.

Yes, this was it. This was the place.

"Yes!"

He took a few steps forward looking around.

Where was she?

Viper was usually waiting for him, as if she knew he would be there. And if not, she'd be outside anyways doing something, and when he arrived she'd finish up and they'd...hang out or whatever.

So where was she now??

His hand stretched out and slowly turned the knob.

"Alright, but promise me one thing," she said. Her s's were pronounced like hissing, which intrigued Boomer.

"Sure! What is it?!"

"Don't go in the shed unless I say so, okay?"

"Okay!"

Boomer considered.

He needed to find her. It wouldn't matter in the end, right?

Boomer pushed the door open, and walked in.

As he got further ahead, he thought he heard the sink running.

Spotting a door out the corner of his eye, he whipped around.

A light breeze pushed the door open, and the light from outside spilled into the room.

Boomer didn't go in. He stood in the doorway, peering in.

The room was pretty simple, some posters and shelves. But what caught his attention was the poster hung near the door.

The poster with multiple arrows and knives and darts shot through it.

The poster with a photo of a young boy frowning up at whoever had taken it.

The poster that read Boomer Butterfly, wanted dead of alive. Captor or killer to be awarded 100K.

Dead...or alive.

A hoarse sound escaped his lips, and he turned, running past the kitchen.

Viper whirled around, vspotting him from the sink.

She had a knife.

Oh God, she had a knife.

And she was cleaning it.

What had been on there??

"WAIT!" She screamed.

She dashed after him, and he ran through the doorway.

"MANDY!" He screamed.

"What-?"

Viper stood behind him, panting. She slowly began to speak.

"I...I...can explain..."

Boomer shook his head slowly, and then ran off into the woods.

"BOOMER!" Viper and Mandy screamed.

"What the fuck did you do?!"

"...Not my job."

She ran.

He ran.

Stumbling over roots, crashing through the brush.

"IS THERE ANYBODY- IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE??"

He heard breathing behind him.

Whirling around, he faced his friend.

Or at least, he thought she was his friend.

She tried to crack a smile, and her fangs only strengthened the terror in Boomer's heart.

"Hey...Boomer..."

She moved towards him, the large meat knife in her hand glistening.

"We can talk about this... right?"

He moved backwards.

She continued walking towards him.

Boomer tried to run-but she pinned him against the tree.

This was stupid. This was stupid. He had the ability to burn her. He should've burned her. I should have burned her.

He didn't.

Couldn't.

Wouldn't.

No better than those stupid Powderpuffs.

She raised the knife--

And plunged it deep into his chest.

Right where his heart was.

Crimson red liquid splattered everywhere, staining the green grass, and covering Viper as well as the knife.

She yanked it out, leaving a gash as he fell.

Back.

There was a thud as he hit the ground.

Louder than anything she'd ever heard.

Mandy...

He was gone.

Slowly, she fell to her knees.

Viper leaned over, and threw up.

Salty tears slid down her face, and she stayed like that, hiccuping and sobbing loudly.

It was pitiful.

It was stupid.

She fumbled for the knife. The bloody knife, the one with her only friend's blood on it. And she'd killed him. For what? To support her and the other gang members.

That didn't make it any better. Didn't make it...any...

She stabbed herself.

Blood spilled out, and she gasped, biting back a scream.

She was dead in minutes.

Mere minutes.

Alas, when Mandy finally found Boomer, his eyes were wide and glassy, staring up at the sky, his yellow dress soaked with his own blood.

Turning to the other body, the body of Viper Gangreen, she seethed with anger.

The bitch who caused this all.

She clenched her fists, gritting her teeth.

Mandy was upset. And she didn't want to be.

She wanted to be angry, to be mad.

And she was.

But she was also sad.

Very, very sad.

But she didn't want to admit it. Sadness was weakness

And she wasn't weak.

Just watch.

She would become an all powerful overlord some day.

Just watch.

A ruthless dictator.

Just watch...
