Eddie loved his job - he got to spend all night in a creative fervor surrounded by magic and beautiful sights. Plus he got to listen to whatever he wanted on his headphones while he worked. The mouse might not have approved of Metallica’s lyrics but as long as no one else could hear what was playing his team lead was cool with it. He started as an intern with the Imagineers after finishing art school; a compromise between him and Wayne because he definitely didn’t want to go to college but Wayne knew it would be hard for him to find work without something. With the dark themes of his graduating portfolio and his penchant for the macabre he quickly found his specialty area at the parks once he became a full time Imagineer - distressing, aging, dirtying and of course - cobwebs. He would alternate nights between the Tower of Terror and the Haunted Mansion; with occasional pit stops in Rise of the Resistance or Big Thunder Mountain for run of the mill distressing. During his favorite time of the year, Mickey’s Not So Scary, he ran all over Magic Kingdom for hours adding his flair wherever he could. It was the only time he worked while guests were present and while normally that many people would overwhelm him he focused on the spooky vibes and just concentrated on his work. It helped that it wasn’t quite as hot during the fall festivities - although of course Eddie would much rather be sweaty than frigid. He’d taken the job because he longed to get away from Indiana winters in a trailer with little to no insulation. While he did make enough money to handle any element now he also loved being able to say he’d never be that cold again. Now if he could just convince Wayne to retire and move down to enjoy the warm, sunny weather with him he'd be truly happy.

Steve hated his job - he spent all day trying to push a heavy black cart full of stinky trash through crowds of people who definitely didn’t care one bit that he was trying to work. While his all white uniform did help combat the heat somewhat there really was no escape from the grueling Florida sun or the omnipresent humidity. He knew he should be grateful to Robin for helping get him the gig and letting him move in with her, toddler in tow, but he was just so exhausted. After spending all day sweating and cleaning up strangers' kids' messes he had to pick up Alex from daycare and take her home to clean both of them up, eat dinner and get ready for bed. He was grateful that at least Disney offered a greatly discounted childcare service for cast members. With his and Robin’s salaries combined they could afford their apartment relatively well but having that savings on daycare before Alex was school age helped a lot. Of course the main reason he took the job, apart from not having a lot of options after becoming a single father, dropping out of college and being kicked out of his parents’ home, was that he’d also never run out of free entertainment for Alex on his days off. Being able to bring her to meet princesses, see the parades, go swim in the lazy river and even just small things like walking down Main Street USA made him feel like the best dad in the world.
