Chapter Text
The extravagant hall was left empty. Lights and decorations and music filled the large room, much like they would had it still been filled to the brim with the Netherworld's most prestigious demons, yet there was not a soul on sight. That was, besides Asmodeus Alice and his beloved Iruma. In the eyes of the pink haired man, the two were the only beings that mattered, here together as they held one another close within each other's arms and danced together, slowly and gracefully.
Asmodeus was fully aware this was all a dream - it had been one blessing his nights for the last week since he had gotten the delightful call from Iruma asking for his company at the deviculim - yet he still basked in every second, savoring each and every moment he could feel the touch of soft skin pressed up against his own.
It was truly the most beautiful sight if you asked him. Despite its vast emptiness, the two filled the entirety of the intricately decorated ball room - more so even than when it had been actually filled - as they spun and twirled around one another in perfect unison. Asmodeus couldn't for the life of him take his eyes off the shining smile adorned on the other's face, Iruma's bright, infectious laughter spreading even to himself as he laughed along.
"I'm so happy to be spending this time with you Azz-kun."
He nodded in response, somehow pulling the other even closer as they continued their dance.
Until suddenly, it all came to a halt.
The ballroom was no longer empty - it was packed as a party should be - and most notably, his arms were no longer full of his sparkling soulmate. This… had never been a part of the dream before…
Desperately raking the crowds for any sight of the other, he finally spotted that blue tuft of hair from afar - much too far for his own liking. Pushing and shoving all other's out of his way without a care, he rushed to his spear's side.
"Iruma-sama!" He called, reaching out his hand, worry stricken on his face as he parted the final demons standing in their way.
There, held close - much too close for his own liking - was his Iruma, in the arms of Ami Kirio . A long, spindly arm was wrapped loosely aroundthe smaller's back, yet his hand clenched tightly agaist the fabric of his suit. His other hand cupped Iruma's chin, lifting his mask away and pointing his face upwards to look at him. Asmodeus tried to no avail to run forward and separate the two, blocked by the force of an invisible barrier.
Kirio leaned closer to Iruma, whispering something into his ear, too quiet for Asmodeus to hear. Whatever it was, it caused the other to blush. He giggled softly, as if entranced as he directed a smile at one least deserving. Then they grabbed hands, Iruma following the twisted demon's lead towards the exit of the hall.
'I am going to set Ami ablaze ! H ow dare he take advantage of Iruma-sama like this!'
But then he thought for another second, biting his lip in frustration. Iruma had accepted the advances, had he not? Who was he to force otherwise. It was stupid of him, really. Letting his own jealousy cloud his actions to the point where he dared to question his master.
He resigned to himself, turning away to leave the two alone. (And so on the off chance Iruma spared him a glance, he wouldn't see the dollops of tears forming in his eyes) Yet before he could take a step, he froze in place. The heavy weight of a sharp stare sent a shiver up his spine.
Wiping any wetness from his eyes, he shot back around, only to find Kirio staring into him. The corners of his eyes crinkled and his lips turned up in what could have been a genuine smile, had it not been for a dreadfully abundant crazed look overtaking his face. His eyes were glazed over like a predator about to partake in its prey, and his smile stretched far too wide to be pleasant, hints of drool leaking from the sides.
Teal eyes gazing dead into his own red, he wiped the drool away. He followed by pressing a single finger to his mouth in a sly shushing motion, before turning back to Iruma - the latter blissfully unaware.
A shock was sent into his heart, and a look of true horror surely fell upon him. No, it didn't matter if this was the decision Iruma was making! It was clear to Asmodeus at least, that the other was being led astray. And what kind of servant would he be, to let his master- well, he didn't know exactly what it was Kirio was planning, but he knew for certain it wasn't good!
Unfortunately, he still had the problem of the barrier blocking his way. He banged upon the invisible wall, calling out to Iruma as loudly as he could, but was met with nothing. The tears were back as the two disappeared from his line of sight and exited the hall. He knew something terrible was about to happen, yet all the while he was unable to do a thing to stop it.
No, he had to do something! Wiping his tears once more he clenched his fists, calling his flames to his side ready to break this barrier by whatever means necessary. Yet as he swung forward to hit it once more, he found his body simply carried through, nearly falling to the floor from the overcharged momentum.
He didn't have to time to ascertain as to why the barrier had suddenly disappeared, instead he ran faster than he felt he ever had before, practically crashing into the doors leading outside the hall.
He slammed them open, taking in the new room with fraught fever. It was a long hallway. Seemingly endless, with countless doors adorning each side, yet no blue haired demons in sight. Not stopping, Asmodeus worked his way through, slamming each door open and scanning its insides before moving onto the next.
This went on for what felt like an eternity. But his mind was filled with nothing but the desperation to save Iruma. He then heard a familiar scream coming from the end of the hallway, cursing silently to himself as he bit the inside of his lip.
"Iruma-sama!" He called out once again, shutting the door he had been looking in and hurriedly stumbling toward the sound.
He had finally reached the end of the hall, met with a lonesome door. The rest of the doors had seemed to disappear into nothingness. Preparing himself for a battle, he readied flames, twisted the doorknob, and pushed the door open to face the room.
There on the ground, lay the one he cared about most. Eyes wide and body motionless, Iruma was left on his back in a pool of his own blood.
His eyes widened, fire disputing as he lurched over, covering his mouth and stomach to suppress the urge to vomit. He succeeded, though barely as he could still feel the bile in his throat, and shakily stood up, bracing his weight on the wall.
"You….." voice dark and empty as he glared ferociously, flames lighting the room once again, overdriven with anger.
He was met with a wicked cackle, Kirio turned towards him from where he had been crouched over the limp body he had laid waste to.
"What's wrong?" He spoke in a dark tone, looking not at him but at his victim. He paused for a second, leaning down and licking blood from a wound on Irumas cheek, face twisting to a sinfully delighted expression before turning toward Asmodeus. "This is what you're supposed to do with humans, is it not?"
All he saw was red.
