Work Text:

“Sir, you have another mission scheduled.” Spoke the voice from the phone. Akutagawa was annoyed, the victim had fought back and got blood everywhere. He hated feeling dirty, dirt meant bathing, and he despised baths. He felt vulnerable, but he couldn’t go without being clean, as he hated being dirty. Sad cycle it seems. He sighed, “Location?" He liked to keep things plain and simple, why complicate things? Complications lead to error, and error led to him having overtime. The mafia kept him out enough, he didn't need extra work. “The Armed Detective Agency.” His body visibly stiffened, out of all the places why did it have to be his workplace. He would surely never see his talent after this mission, but he had no choice. “Details, now.” The rundown was simpler than he had intended. “They’ll leave work at around 4pm, however, the tiger, your victim will have more work than usual due to ‘complications’ so he will be alone.

You will enter when the building is empty and he is alone.” He hummed in acknowledgement then hung up. He was done talking to her. Why make the conversation longer? He already had an irritating night ahead. As he walked, the blood dried, he was disgusted. He wished for nothing more than for it to be gone, but he had a mission to complete. Perhaps if he tortured and killed the weretiger, he would finally praise him. He dreamt of the day, ‘you’ve done well Akutagawa’ he would say. Alas it has yet to happen. He arrived earlier than he would've liked, the mafioso hid within the dark alley planted beside the building. He stood there, waiting. Waiting for his victim to show so his mission could finally come to an end. Minutes felt like hours, what was this guy doing in there? He decided he wasn't going to wait to find out. His plan may have been altered but as long as the job was done, did it matter? The mafioso stormed inside, annoyed to see the boy asleep at his desk. He hated, despised, and resented the tiger. ‘What an easy kill.’ He thought.

“Rashomon!” He expected the boy to awaken at the call of his ability but he didn’t. He remained motionless. The closer he got, the less sure he was about his ability to kill the tiger. He hated the boy, no doubt, so why was it so difficult to end his life? He saw the boy move and flinched. What was he doing? Why hadn’t he already killed him? These thoughts flooded his head, he was stressed. He was so out of it he failed to notice Atsushi's eyes open. “Akutagawa?” Questioned the tiger, he froze. His body felt cold, as if the life within him had vanished. Atsushi sat there, mesmerized by the beauty of his ability. He had only ever seen ‘Rashomon’ during their fights, he wasn’t able to see the true nature. The tiger didn’t move, nor show signs of fear. “You should be ashamed, filthy tiger.” His words were filled with hate, or perhaps jealousy. Atsushi began to stand, though not a second later was met with yet another threat. “Stop. Come any closer and Rashomon will pierce right through your pathetic body.”

The tiger seemed to ignore every word, he didn’t care. Akutagawa’s glare spoke the words he couldn't, as if giving the tiger one last warning before he sent his ability crashing towards Atsushi. He had no reaction, not even a flinch as he activated ‘Beast beneath the Moonlight’ to counter ‘Rashomon’. It worked, obviously, but that wasn’t his priority. The mafioso gave in when he saw the pure determination in the tigers eyes. A glow that shined so beautifully, he could have sworn he felt his soul being cleansed by its purity. His ability vanished as he stood there and let the tiger approach. “What is it that you’re,” He was cut off. It took him seconds to understand exactly what cut him off. The tiger's lips. Atsushi had kissed him, is kissing him. He stood there, dumbfounded on not just one thing. ‘Why did he kiss me?’ ‘What should I do?’ ‘How should I respond?’ The thoughts raced through his head at the same rapid speed as his heart.

The tiger had taken note of his stiffness and guided his hands to his waist. Which only surprised Akutagawa’s further, though he never broke the kiss. He tightened his grip on the tigers waist in an attempt to signal he needed air, which worked, Atsushi broke the kiss breathing heavily next to his ear. The mafioso stood there, in silence trying to regain his thoughts. His efforts didn’t work seeing as his mind was clouded with thoughts of only the tiger. He brought his hands up to Atsushi’s face and kissed him once more. This time placing a chaste kiss on his lips before kissing his cheeks and forehead. “I love you Akutagawa” Spoke the tiger with that same shine in his eyes. One that shows purity and love. A truth spoken with nothing more than love and devotion. The tiger took him in a tight embrace, closing their distance. It wasn’t enough, he wanted to be closer, he wanted every ounce of the tiger to be his. Akutagawa further squeezed the tiger, closing distance that wasn’t even there. He wanted Atsushi, all of him. “I love you too, Atsushi.”
