“May I have this dance?“
Ike looked up from his book to see Vox smiling down at him, hand outstretched. It was a rainy Sunday morning so Ike was taking the opportunity to stay inside and start a new book. However, it seemed like his boyfriend had other plans.
Ike returned the smile, abandoning his book on the couch as he allowed Vox to pull him up.
“Good morning love,” Vox rested his free hand on Ike’s waist and began to sway them to the pitter patter of the rain. Ike would never get tired of hearing Vox’s voice in the morning, rough but still as sweet as honey.
“Good morning min kära*. Did you sleep well?” Vox spun Ike around and pulled him back to his chest. “I always sleep well when you’re next to me. What were you reading?” Ike moved easily, matching Vox in perfect step, a duet just for them.
“Ah just a random book I had laying around, trying to get through my never-ending backlog.”
“Ever the diligent novelist.”
Ike laughed. “Oh please, I was just passing the time while waiting for you to wake up is all.”
Vox dipped Ike and pressed a soft kiss to his neck.
“And now that I’ve joined the land of the living, what say you to some hot chocolate and movies? I have a whole library of films saved for rainy days, you know.”
The writer hummed happily, pressing a kiss of his own to Vox’s cheek. “That sounds wonderful.”
“You’re wonderful.”
A soft press to the lips. And another. Until the two fell on the couch tangled up in each other in laughter.
“You’re such a sap.”
“Yes, but I’m your sap.”
And who was Ike to disagree with that? As long as he had Vox by his side, there would always be a new story to tell for their love was endless.
