Work Text:

The narrow alleyway was enveloped in a chilly mist, with rain pelting down relentlessly. Amidst the gloom, a small figure of a girl cowered, seeking shelter from the elements. Her clothes, long robes, clung to her body, soaked through and offering no protection against the cold.

Suddenly, the silence of the alley was disturbed by the distant sound of a vehicle coming to a halt. Its presence only intensified the darkness, casting eerie shadows onto the cold pavement. A door slammed shut, followed by the rhythmical patter of two sets of footsteps, their soles drenched and making squelching sounds with each step they took.

As the footsteps drew closer, they finally reached the huddled mass on the ground. One of the figures bent down, their hand gently patting the motionless form. With a swift and tender motion, they lifted the girl into their arms, holding her close to their body for warmth and comfort.

Meanwhile, the other figure retraced their steps, reaching the waiting car and opening the door. A gust of warm air welcomed them, providing respite from the harsh weather outside. They carefully settled the girl down strapping her in, and taking their own seats in the vehicle before closing the door.

The muffled voices that seeped through the closed door roused the girl from her slumber. She lay still, eavesdropping and hoping to gather any useful information from the conversations outside.
"What is her name?" inquired a masculine voice.
"We still don't know, but I suspect she's a witch," responded a female voice with an enchanting tone.
"My dear, the real question is who would dare attempt to harm a noble pureblood if she indeed is one? Her life is of utmost importance," mused an elderly man. "Well, I think I'll go and check on my grandson while you all try to solve this mystery," chimed in a tired voice, likely belonging to an elderly individual. The girl then heard the faint sounds of footsteps ascending a staircase.
"It's getting late, and we should discuss further in the morning. With the arrival of the Grangers, we can await their presence and see if the girl can interact with them," stated the first voice.
"Yes, I agree. Let's hope she's awake when they arrive."

Morning:
As the morning light gracefully streamed into the room through the billowing curtains, the young girl slowly rose from her bed. Paying no mind to changing her clothes, she quietly slipped out of the room and proceeded down a long hallway. Making a left turn, she discovered herself in a spacious living room and dining area. The grandeur of the room was accentuated by the floor-to-ceiling windows that towered two stories high, allowing a breathtaking view of the world outside. Peering up, she couldn't help but lose track of just how high the ceiling stretched.

However, it was the presence of people seated around the large table that instantly caught her attention. Among them were two individuals, both around her age, a boy and another girl. The adults nearby consisted of an elderly woman with lustrous brown hair and piercing blue eyes, and beside her sat a distinguished elderly man donned in deep emerald green robes. His long white beard bore a striking resemblance to that of Albus Dumbledore portrayed in a picture she had seen. Engaged in a heated conversation with him was a middle-aged man possessing black hair and eyes that were nearly as dark as coal. The girl mentally skipped over their discussion and shifted her focus to three individuals with brown hair - two females and a male. Lastly, her gaze landed on a girl endowed with fiery red hair and enchanting green eyes. Drawn to her presence, the young girl approached, her curiosity growing. The girl with the red hair noticed her and extended a warm invitation to join her for a meal.

Introducing herself first, the flame-haired girl declared, "Hi, my name is Lily, Lily Evenshade. What's yours?"

Timidly, the young girl replied, "Pansy, Pansy Parkinson."

7 years later: platform 9 ¾

They were running late, evident from the way they hurriedly ran through the brick wall without even pausing. As they emerged on the other side, the vigilant train conductor noticed their arrival and signaled the engineer for a slight delay. The conductor nodded in acknowledgment before moving to collect their luggage.

Hermione Granger, being the first to board the train, didn't bother bidding farewell, hoping to secure a compartment for the three of them. The second person, a young man with dark brown hair and striking Avada green eyes, politely said goodbye to an elderly lady before heading up onto the train. Lastly, a girl looked up at her father, unable to contain herself as she tightly hugged him.
"See you at Christmas, Papa," she whispered. He replied, "I will be waiting, my little Pansy," as they separated.

Pansy smiled before reassuringly saying, "I will send a letter each week." Her father nodded in agreement, allowing them to part ways. Just then, the elderly lady approached them and apologized, asking Pansy to bring her grandson, Hadrian, his familiar. Pansy looked down to see a Burmese python slithering next to the elderly woman, and she called it over. The snake obediently moved towards her side.
"I will make sure he receives it, Granny Helga," Pansy promised.

"Good, now let's get going, Thomas," Granny Helga instructed to the man. Pansy boarded the train with the python, finding their compartment open. After entering, she closed the door behind her and took a seat beside Hermione, observing the passing scenery.

Hogwarts great hall

As Professor McGonagall carefully scanned through the names, she eventually arrived at Hermione Granger. Hermione nervously perched herself on the stool, waiting a whole 30 seconds before the Sorting Hat made its decision. The entire Great Hall was left in shock as the Hat called out "SLYTHERIN". A mixture of surprise and disbelief filled the room.

The attention quickly shifted to the next name on the list, Harry Potter. Whispers flew around the room until abruptly silenced by gasps. Harry hadn't even reached the steps leading to the stool when the Sorting Hat hesitated and then declared "S-S-SLYTHERIN". It was an unexpected outcome that left everyone stunned.

Finally, it was Pansy Riddle's turn. As she ascended the stairs, the surprised look on Dumbledore's face was mirrored by the other professors and a man in a turban, whose complexion turned deathly pale. Pansy sat under the Sorting Hat for a mere second before it swiftly proclaimed "SLYTHERIN".

Completing the sorting process, Pansy enthusiastically high-fived Hermione and confidently took her seat. She paid no mind to the remaining names called, instead focusing on her brother and sister figures who sat beside her, forming an unbreakable bond.

Slytherin common room same night:

After Snape's impassioned speech and subsequent dismissal, two fourth-year students, Montague and Flint, confronted Harry and challenged him to a duel. However, before Harry could even pick up his wand, Pansy and Hermione stepped in, volunteering to take on the challenge on his behalf. As the duel commenced, Pansy hesitated for a moment before a silver, gleaming object swiftly slid through Montague's hand, fracturing his wand and inflicting a deep wound on his arm, rendering him unable to continue fighting. On the other hand, Hermione, exhibiting a more ruthless demeanor, skillfully brandished a double-bladed knife, swiftly slicing through Flint's right hand and leaving a vicious scar down his face. With their opponents incapacitated, the duel came to an abrupt end.

Draco Malfoy approached them, commending their strength and suggesting they serve the powerful Malfoy family instead of aligning themselves with the weakening Potter. Pansy, a mischievous smile dancing on her lips, shook his hand with a firm grip before intentionally exerting crushing pressure, resulting in the painful breaking of his hand. Malfoy's shrieks of agony filled the air. Pansy then addressed Malfoy, emphasizing their act of mercy, revealing that Hadrian, their true identity, would have resorted to killing their opponents and disposing of their bodies. She further explained that their duty as assassins was to protect their lord, and in this case, it meant giving their adversaries a warning rather than lethal punishment.

The attention then turned to Harry, who nodded in approval before disappearing into the boys' dormitory. Just before he vanished, he cast a playful glance over his shoulder towards the common room entrance, where Professor Snape stormed in, clearly consumed by rage. However, Harry's smirk remained on his face, showing his satisfaction with the situation. "Thank you, professor, for allowing my familiar to join us. I'm glad she didn't have to wait in the corridor all night," he sarcastically remarked.

At the mention of the familiar, a python sneaked through the crowd of students, causing a commotion as they hastily moved away from its path. Harry then redirected his attention to the two girls in his care, Pansy and Hermione. With an air of authority, he addressed them, "Pansy, Hermione, who will be sharing my bed tonight?"

"Pansy," she responded without hesitation. She walked over to him, and they both disappeared into the boys' dormitories. Pansy later returned, surprising the professor with the invocation of the snake's name. "Nagini, come. I want to sleep with you and my brother tonight." The snake slithered up to her and obediently followed, unknowingly eliciting a terrified reaction from the professor, whose face turned pale upon hearing the name "Nagini."

Alternate ending:
Slytherin common room same night:
After Snape's impassioned speech and subsequent dismissal, two fourth-year students by the names of Montague and Flint confronted Harry, challenging him to a duel. However, before Harry could even react, Pansy and Hermione swiftly took up the challenge on his behalf. As the duel commenced, Pansy hesitated for a split second before a glimmering silver object shot through Montague's hand, severing his wand in half and leaving a deep gash on his arm, effectively incapacitating him. Hermione, on the other hand, showed no mercy as she swiftly unleashed a double-bladed knife, expertly slicing Flint's right hand and leaving a wicked scar across his face. With their opponents defeated, Draco Malfoy arrogantly approached the victorious girls, attempting to recruit them to serve the mighty Malfoy family instead of the weakling Potter. However, Pansy merely smirked before shaking his hand with such force that it caused his hand to break, leaving him writhing in pain. She calmly stated,
"Listen closely, we showed them mercy. Hadrian would have killed them instantly and disposed of their bodies. As assassins, our duty is to protect our lord. And that is exactly what we did. We protect our lord."

The two girls then turned to Harry, who gave them a nod of approval before slipping away, shooting a mischievous glance over his shoulder as he noticed Professor Snape entering the common room, seething with anger. With a smirk, Harry taunted, "Thank you, professor, for allowing my familiar to join us. I'm glad she didn't have to wait in the corridor all night."

As he said this, a python slithered through the startled students, prompting them to quickly scatter. Harry continued, "Oh, and do call me Hadrian, not Harry."

He then turned his attention to Pansy and Hermione, both under his care. "Pansy," he called out, causing her to meet his gaze.
"Will you be sleeping with me or Hermione tonight?"
Pansy replied, "With you."

She walked over to him, and together they disappeared into the boys' dormitory. Pansy returned later, causing quite a commotion as she spoke the name of the snake, "Nagini, come. I want to sleep with you and my brother tonight.” Oblivious to the professor's horrified reaction, she was followed by the slithering snake.
