Joseph Joestar. Thank you.
Joseph could hear it clear as day, as if whomever was speaking was whispering right into his ear. He tore his eyes away from the sight of Dio’s body, which was gradually disintegrating into smoke and rising toward the heavens. Jotaro didn’t seem to notice anything, but Joseph was sure he’d heard it!
“Jotaro! You heard that, right?” he demanded gruffly. Although it wasn’t Dio’s voice he’d heard, his suspicion and paranoia grew.
“Heard what, old man? Don’t tell me you’re already going senile,” the indifferent delinquent huffed, turning his head down so the bill of his cap shaded his eyes.
Senile? Joseph Joestar going senile ? He would have laughed if the idea didn’t make him so angry. Joseph felt his blood begin to boil as he whirled on Jotaro, convinced this must have been some sick prank. Sure, Joseph was no stranger to pranks, but this was obscene. “Stop messing with me, Jotaro! This isn’t funny! I know you heard it!”
Thank you for releasing me.
“Who’s there? Just who the hell is talking to me right now?” Joseph shouted, whirling to and fro and disturbing the tranquil silence of the beach Dio’s body decayed on.
I would have never imagined that Dio would cause such trouble. I’m sorry, I should have stopped him for good. He was always sly and cunning, I should have expected as much.
Joseph whirled around like a man possessed, frantically scanning his surroundings. That voice… he’d never heard it before, but somehow it felt as familiar as his own. Jotaro regarded him with veiled concern. Perhaps the battle was too much for the old man. Perhaps he’d finally lost it.
Joseph… I can finally rest, thanks to you. You truly are a Joestar. I’ve been with you all the way.
A blinding golden light erupted from the heavens, and Joseph felt tears prick his eyes. He’d never met his great-grandfather, but there he was! Shining in a golden cloud, rising toward Heaven with a smile on his face.
Thank you, Joseph. I’m so proud of you.
