Work Header

Just a little bit too much

Summary:

Heeseung is sad and in shambles. He doesn’t know what to do or what to think, he should be in his unit with his fiancé, yet here he is, drinking with some guy that approached him at the bar; being told to go home with him. Jongseong is going to kill him.

Well, that’s what he was thinking. Jongseong could only sigh and roll his eyes at his fiancé at how dramatic he becomes when he’s drunk. He must admit, he was the most adorable hamster he had ever seen, but it was too much when people were starting to think that he was taking advantage of a drunk Heeseung.

Notes:

Still finishing off with the other work, but I was able to finish this much earlier than expected. Hope you enjoy, we don't have that many cutesy Heeseung around.

Work Text:

Work has been too much for Heeseung lately; the setbacks, the writer’s block, and the melody that isn’t flowing like it used to is taking a toll on his mentality.

He’s aware that producers encounter these things in their careers, and some fall into it for a few days or weeks, but there are some that go on for months and even years.

Of course, it hasn’t been too long since he had fallen into the same issue, but it’s been a week, and this has been the longest he has been devoid of creativity.

Although he still has more than enough time given to him by the company, he doesn’t like it if his timeline gets shuffled just because he wasn’t able to figure out the best words to use or the best melody to harmonize.

He’s only an inch into spiraling, and the fact that his wedding is just around the corner isn’t really helping his though process. Jongseong is always there for him, through thick and thin. He was there when he was on the edge of giving up on his work or when he was receiving accolades from his company.

He is the guy who showered him with love and comfort throughout the years that they’ve known each other. Marriage was inevitable, and the fact that Mrs. Park threatened to disown Jongseong if he ever once thought of breaking up with Heeseung. It was evident that they would be together in the end.

Heeseung loves him so much that he is the perfect man for him. Also, he is so cool and composed, yet goofy and nerdy at times. He’s the perfect blend of charismatic and chaotic.

Heeseung always wondered what he did in his past life to deserve such a man. He sighs heavily, taking the mug of beer and taking a large chug of it.

“What am I to do?” he slurs, “I want to get those songs done before the wedding… but I can just finish it.”

“You know, you don’t have to pressure yourself that much. What’s the purpose of having an event organizer if you’re going to worry yourself about the wedding.” A voice chimed.

Heeseung nearly fell from his seat as fast he turned his attention to the person who spoke. “Who are you? Why are you meddling with my personal problem?”

The person sighs heavily. “It’s me… Jay, your fiancé.” He deadpans.

Heeseung pouts, still trying to get his vision to focus. “My fiancé is Park Jongseong. You’re not him!” He blurts out.

Jay scoffs at him, “You’re the one that nicknamed me Jay when we were young, and you’re saying that I’m not Jongseong?”

Curious at how drunk the older was, he attempts to mess with him. “No one comes close to my Seongie! Besides, he isn’t blonde. I love him, but he’s a stubborn ass that doesn’t want to bleach his hair even though it looks hot on him.”

Jay smirks at his words. This is one of the things that he loves about drunk Heeseung. It’s a great ego boost. “I just bleached my hair for you despite how painful the chemicals were, and you’re still denying that I’m your fiancé?”

Heeseung’s pout deepens, “Seongie hates bleaching his hair… he says it hurts so much, that’s why he doesn’t want to do it. But you bleached your hair, so you’re not Seongie.”

Jay couldn’t keep a straight face, and he cackles at how adorable Heeseung was speaking. “Get away from me if you don’t want to get beaten up! Seongie is scary when he’s jealous. He’ll make you regret approaching me.”

Amused by his threat, Jay pushes more. Call it narcissistic, but hearing Heeseung say words like that really feeds the boyfriend pride inside of him. “What if I want to bring you back to my place? Can you Seongie do something about it?”

Heeseung took a moment for the words to sink in before his eyes grew wide. “Don’t you dare! I will scream and bite you!” He threatens adorably, his cheeks are flustered.

“That’s kinky... maybe I’d have you biting down on me while I have my way with you.” To say that he let that slip his tongue was an understatement. His mind just thinks of godforsaken things when it comes to Heeseung.

“You’re a pervert!” He accused his voice loud enough to garner the attention of the people near them. This also earns a side eye from the bartender.

Maybe riling Heeseung too much might lead to him being kicked out of the bar that they’re in. “Heeseung, not too loud. People might really think that’s true.”

“But it is! I’m happily engaged and...” He stops for a moment, belching at how full he was with the number of drinks he had, but he continues, “My Seongie would be... wait... he’s also a pervert.” He ponders to himself, thinking how Jongseong likes to tease him in bed.

This hits his sophisticated side; he knows he can be a bit racy, but he likes to think that he does it with style. “Please don’t be like that Hee...” He meekly says, and the other looks at him with his head tilted to the side, evidently baffled.

“If you’re really Seongie, then how come you didn’t call me? He makes sure to call me if he’s going to pick me up.” He asks, still clearly too intoxicated to put two and two together.

“I also didn’t call him... how would Seongie then know where I am if I didn’t tell him.”

Jay sighs heavily, “Hee... you do recall that Sunghoon owns this bar, right?”

Like a child, Heeseung perks up at the name. “Hoonie! Yes, he owns this place! He said I could have any drink that I want, and he’ll take care of the bill.”

“Of course, he’ll say that. He’s the one that sends me the bill after you have your drinks.”

“Why? You’re not my Seongie. Why would you pay for my drinks?” He questions innocently.

“Okay, I’m no longer amused by this because this is going to get me blacklisted in Sunghoon’s bar.” He pulls Heeseung’s arm and the older stumbles over him.

“Let’s get you home before you cause a scene.” Jay says as he carries the older on his back.

Heeseung was flailing his arms and legs, “Let me down! I don’t want to go with you!” That earns more attention from the people around them, and at this point, the bartender had already called security.

“Hee, stop it. People are already thinking that I’m abducting you or something.” He whisper-yells at him.

“Because you are... you’re kidnapping me... my Seongie will be sad, and he’ll hunt you down!”

“Sir, I would like you to please put him down.” He hears someone from the side. Jay turns his attention to the speaker.

“Please believe me when I say that this man-child is my fiancé and all I want to do right now is to put him to bed and ready him some hang-over soup.” He politely says, but the other looks at him doubtingly.

“I’m sorry, but I can’t allow that.” He grabs onto Jay’s shoulder, “I would implore that you put him down.” His voice was intimidating, yet not enough to deter Jongseong.

“I think you can leave them alone, Mr. Kwon.” A familiar voice spoke, halting the security’s attempt.

They avert their attention to the person standing beside them. “Hoonie!” Heeseung gleefully calls out at the sight of his friend.

Heeseung was wiggling around, hoping he could get down and approach his friend, but the tight hold of Jongseong’s arms on his legs says otherwise. “Hey hyung.” Sunghoon greets back.

“Thank God you showed up. I’m already in enough trouble as it is.”

“The bartender notified me. Luckily, I was just checking the manager’s list of inventory, so I was that busy.”

“Hoonie, let’s play! Is Ikue around?”

If they were all honest, having Heeseung drunk like this is the only time they get to actually see their older friend be as carefree and adorable as he could.

Heeseung is the type of person to act like he needs to be a role model for his younger friends, that he needs to show that he’s dependable and is composed, and level-headed.

Well, they do appreciate the sentiment, but they also want him to feel that he doesn’t need to act like he’s a figure for them. They just want to loosen up and be himself.

“Sorry, he went home early. He didn’t know you’d be here.” Sunghoon walked closer, petting the other’s head while the oldest pouts.

Jay knows and loves his friends, but he tends to be quite possessive, so sue him. “You could instead help me get him to my car rather than pet him.”

Sunghoon smirks, “Your possessive ass is showing, keep it to yourself.”

“No Hoonie, don’t let him take me away, I don’t know him, and he might take me for ransom! Seongie will get mad and hunt him down, I don’t want my fiancé to get arrested.”

Sunghoon cackles loud enough to get the attention of the people around him, and Jay can’t take any more unwanted attention. “This gold, I’ll share this at the wedding for sure.”

Jay’s face went beet red, “You’re not going to do such thing.”

“Sucks to be you then, I’m your best man, you either take the humiliation or you just deal with it.”

“What ever, jackass, let’s just get to my car.” He dismissed, already knowing that Sunghoon won’t be persuaded.

“We’ll take you home now, hyung, and once you’re home, you can cuddle with your Seongie again.” Sunghoon spoke to him as if he was a child, yet it was effective enough to calm the older man down.

Heeseung nods, slowly feeling the heavy weight in his eyes. “As long as I get to be with Seongie…” He drifts off, lightly snoring.

“Are you a witch? How could you send him to sleep like that?” Jay asks in pure bewilderment.

For the years that they’ve been together, he had calmed Heeseung down once in his many attempts, but Sunghoon gets to do that without getting bitten, choking, or even running to fetch him.

“He’s only playful with you. He’s very tamed with us. For the record, Riki is the record holder for knocking him out. He just told him to sleep so that they could play, and boom, out like a light.”

Jay just stares at him for a moment, clearly flabbergasted by the absurd story, yet he can’t refute. They can all put a drunk and fussy Heeseung to sleep. “I hate all of you, especially Riki. Please tell him that with enough loathing.”

It earns another hearty laughter from Sunghoon.

Once they do make it into the parking lot and in front of Jay’s car, he paused to check if Heeseung brought his own car. “The valet confirmed that he didn’t bring any when I made my way.”

“Thank you, I’ll let you know once I settle him down.” Jay then puts on Heeseung’s seat belt, and after hearing the click, he turns back to a smug looking Sunghoon.

“Need help in getting him into bed?” Jay wants to punch the grin on the younger’s face, but he knows why he’s asking that.

Heeseung has this tendency to wake up once he’s being carried out of the car, and then he panics and thrashes around like he’s being kidnapped, one closely resembling the events earlier, but onto a much more difficult level.

“Is Jungwon awake?” Sunghoon looks at him, offended.

“You don’t trust me to calm him down?”

Jay sighs, “I do, but you’re running a business, and besides, you’d be all I saved your ass, so you owe me big time .”

Sunghoon wanted to retaliate, but he felt that Jay got the details right. “Fine, I’ll call him. He should still be awake since he told me he wanted to drive around. I think he’s with Riki.”

“Good, tell him to bring Riki along because I want to tell him that I hate him right in his face.” He kids, but his hurt pride tells differently.

“You’re just a sore ass.” He mocks before making the call.

After a few minutes, he disconnected the call and told Jay about their conversation. “Jungwon says they should be in a bout five minutes from your unit. You should head on.”

Jay nods and takes one more look at his sleeping fiancé. “Thanks, we’re going off then.”

They exchange their farewells as Jay drives them off to their unit. He thinks of the time when they first bought it, the time that his heart raced like never before.

He wasn’t unfamiliar with making big purchases or something the like, but he was going to live with Heeseung. For the entirety of their relationship, they were only staying over either one’s apartment, and as they took a big step further into their relationship, they finally bought a place to call their own.

He was thrilled and also scared. What if Heeseung doesn’t like his habits? What if Heeseung gets bored with him? What if Heeseung thinks that he wasn’t husband material and replaces him with a richer guy who knows how to take better care of him.

He knew he was irrational in thinking of those things, but somehow, Heeseung understood his worries. He didn’t come short in reassuring Jongseong that he was loved no matter what he gets to find out once they live together.

When they do get to their unit, he sees Jungwon’s car parked at the driveway. Riki conversed with him as they waited.

“Waited long?” Jay asks after he gets out of the car.

“Not too long, really good decision to have that drive.” Jungwon says as he makes his way towards the front seat.

“He’s stressed with work again?” Riki asks, knowing Heeseung’s worries well enough to assume the reason for his drunken state.

“Most probably, he’s been stuck with a few songs that isn’t going anywhere. He just needs more time to calm down before he works on it again.”

“Yeah, he doesn’t think properly when he’s like that.”

“A little help here, Riki?” Jungwon says as he carries Heeseung.

“Oh right…” He dashes over to help bring the oldest inside.

“Hey, why didn’t he wake up?” Jay asks Jungwon as he follows them inside.

“He did, I just told him that he needs to sleep while , Jongseong,  to his bed.” Jay opens their bedroom door, letting them in.

“He kept mumbling about how he was being kidnapped by some blonde that looked closely like his Seongie.” They then place Heeseung flat on the bed.

“With that being said, nice hair hyung.”

“Heeseung hyung must have convinced you to bleach it by saying You look handsome with blonde hair.” I want our wedding photos to have a handsome blonde Jongseong and then you marched your way to the salon to have it done.” Riki explains, and as much as Jay wants to argue, he can’t really say anything that would invalidate the younger’s story.

“To be fair, I didn’t rush with bleaching my hair. It took about a week of convincing myself to do so.” It was his only refute.

They two laughed but can’t really fault him. They all know how whipped he was with their hyung. He even took him in a romantic getaway with just the two of them in a four star hotel and bought every single thing that the older found cute, awesome, or worth his while.

“Do you guys want something to drink?” He offers.

“I’m good, how about you, Riki?”

“I’m okay with grabbing some strawberry milk.” He doesn’t need any help in getting them in the fridge. Heeseung has reserved supplies for Riki.

After Riki got his drinks, he accompanied them outside. Waving them goodbye as they drive off.

He cleans himself up and changes into his sleeping attire. Before he fixes Heeseung up and changes his clothes to something more comfy. Once he was done, he tucked himself into bed, snuggling beside the older.

“Good night, Hee.” He whispers and lands a sweet peck on his cheek.

“Good night, Seongie…” He hears the older mumble.

By the break of dawn, Jongseong gets up right away. He needs to prepare some haejang-guk. Heeseung finds it helpful after waking up with a terrible hangover. With tired eyes, he prepares the ingredients. Once he’s done, he readies the tray he’ll be bringing to bed, but before does, Heeseung appears with a hand over his head.

“I can’t believe I drank that much again.” He grumbles as he takes a seat.

Jay chuckles, placing a table mat in front of Heeseung and some utensils. “Thanks Jay.”

He takes a couple of sip of the broth as Jay takes a seat adjacent to his, a fond look in his face. After feeling a bit of relief, Heeseung notices the younger; he raises a brow, wondering why he’s staring at him like that.

“Is something wrong with my face?” He asks, and Jay just shakes his head.

“Is there something that I need to know about last night?”

Jay acts as if he’s pondering about it but eventually shakes his head again. “Jay-ah, you’re starting to creep me out. You’re usually chatty, but the quiet gestures are not your usual.”

Jay smiles brightly before he starts to talk. “So you thought I was kidnapping you just because I bleached my hair?”

Heeseung, despite being drunk, recalls the events of last night the moment he hears Jay’s question. “Oh God, how terrible was I? Did I make a scene last night?”

“A bit, like I asked, you thought that I was a kidnapper.”

It took Heeseung a few more seconds for things to sink in. “Wait you’re blonde now!”

“Yes, baby, I am.” He caresses the older man’s cheek, “Just for you.”

“So charming…” He whispers, but Jay caught it.

“I know, I’m your prince charming.” He teased, and Heeseung just blushes deeply.

“I love it when you’re drunk. You’re way too cute and adorable.”

Heeseung frowns, “Am I now cute and adorable when sober?”

“At times, mostly you’re hot and sexy. It’s not even fair.”

“I could say the same about you.” He retaliates.

“I love you…”

“Love you too…”

“Love you even more if you pay your tab at Sunghoon’s bar.”

Jongseong loves Heeseung being clingy, whiny, and adorable when drunk, but not on a regular basis. It would be hell to take care of him since he only becomes fussy if he’s the one handling him. It also doesn’t help that he can’t recognize him whenever he’s drunk. Only him, his fiancé, the audacity. But still, he’s love struck, what else can he do about it?
