Work Text:
Seele always knew she had a weakness for her Silver-Haired Princess, perhaps it was too much of a weakness at times than she would like to admit. The people closest to her definitely got on her nerves sometimes when they would tease her about the Supreme Guardian. It was quite obvious to them that Seele and Bronya were more than just friends despite neither of them not explicitly saying it to anyone, it's their worst kept secret in the entire world. But at times like these Seele had to bite the bullet and try to not lose composure with the remarks said to her about her precious Princess.
Seele had finished assisting Natasha getting medical supplies that they needed from the well appreciated aid from the Silvermane Guards in the Overworld, which definitely made life easier for Seele. It was a nice change in pace not having to go through the pain of venturing through abandoned monster infested towns just to retrieve medical supplies for the Doctor to treat her clients, but she did partly miss the plowing through enemies alone with ease. She would gladly go on those lone wolf missions again, but once Bronya had found out the woman was filled with worry about Seele’s safety and scolded her. She could always go on these solo ventures anyways but she knew that her Princess would find out somehow. Just as Seele was about to leave the clinic to turn in for the night and go to her Princess, she heard Natasha call out to her.
“Seele, do you mind talking for a bit before you go?”
“Sure Nat, but make it quick. I’m in a bit of a hurry” Seele said, as she walked towards the Doctor.
Natasha already knew what she implied by that statement. “Ah, could it be a certain Supreme Guardian that you’re talking about?” She says in an all knowing tone in her voice.
“Y-yes…” Seele stuttered with a clear blush on her face. She wanted to kick herself for getting flustered over a simple question like that.
Natasha chuckled, “Well I wouldn’t want to keep her waiting longer than we have to. We can talk tomorrow then. Be there for her Seele”
Seele didn’t want to screw up on her words anymore and simply nodded and walked quickly out of the clinic.
Thankfully for Seele, she managed to recover her composure from her short little conversation with Natasha by the time she went to the Overworld and approached the Silvermane Guard in front of the Qliphoth Fort.
The Guard spoke before Seele could even say a single word. “Here for the Supreme Guardian?”
She simply nods as the Guard lets her pass through.
It feels like they’re way too used to me doing this now Seele thought as she proceeded her way to Bronya’s office.
When Seele arrived she was surprised to see Bronya was nowhere to be seen.
That’s unusual, maybe for once in her life someone didn’t force her to take a break. Well, time to crash into her room.
As she entered Bronya’s room, she finally found the person she came to see.
“So, has the Princess finally come to her senses to relax once in a while?” Seele said in a teasing tone as she approached Bronya.
Bronya turned around and saw the beautiful sight of her Butterfly, “Yes, thanks to a certain someone that constantly texts me and comes to my office occasionally if I had taken any breaks.”
Seele had a prideful smirk on her face. “Heh, I guess my hard work finally paid off. But anyways, that aside, I- …” Crap why am I stumbling on my words now of all times! Seele felt her cheeks heat up as she was struggling to get her words out.
“It's okay Seele, I know. I missed you too.” Bronya gave Seele a warm embrace as she wrapped her arms around her partner.
Seele reciprocated back as she held Bronya tighter. She missed this warmth from her dear Princess in a loving hug. She felt like she wanted to stay like this forever with her. In an everlasting blanket of warmth, feeling the race of her heartbeat just as she felt Bronya’s. It feels like a void is being filled within her that had been empty for so long. She had never been able to feel this sense of warmth too often growing up. But it just makes these hugs with Bronya that more special. “I missed you too Bronya, so, so much”
Bronya was able to get a sense of what Seele’s feeling when they hug. The way Seele holds her tightly, but slowly loosens up after a bit to a more gentle hold. The feeling of Seele’s increasing heartbeat in their closeness filled Bronya’s heart with a warm and fuzzy feeling. I remember embracing mother like this when I was a child. Don’t worry Seele, I’ll be here for you.
Despite the few spoken words, their hearts connected in a comforting warmth.
I love you Seele
I love you Bronya
