Skyfire awoke first, as he always did, before even the warm Cybertronian sunlight could peek through the fabric curtains. He didn't online his optics just yet, he didn't even move his helm off it's plush pillow. He did flex his joints ever so slowly, careful to not disturb the mass of heat half-splayed across his abdomen with legs wrapped around one of his own.
His left arm laid around Starscream, his hand resting between his wings. Starscream's helm rested just under his cockpit and he could faintly feel a dribble of dried oral lubricant on his plating. The blanket they'd shared was barely on them, half-tangled around Skyfire's other leg and partially on Starscream's waist.
Starscream squirmed and wigged so much in his sleep, even settling for recharge took a solid half-hour just to fluff his pillows, beat them into place, and then flip them just to do it again. The blankets were never right either, but Skyfire was never allowed to help adjust them either.
Skyfire simply laid there, listening to Starscream huff and twist the bedding until he was comfortable. It wasn't unusual for him to fall asleep to the repetitive sounds, only to wake up confused not long after with Starscream snuggling up to him. He'd lay his arm over him and fall right back into recharge.
He finally onlined his optics and smoothed his hand up Starscream's back, gently gripping his shoulder and nudging him off of his frame. Starscream's rare peaceful expression scrunched into a sleepy scowl, but he rolled away and hugged the long pillow within reach. He smiled sleepily at him and leaned over to press a kiss to the side of his helm.
Starscream settled back down, pretty gray face settling back into that peaceful expression. It was still too early for him to wake up on their days off and he was a heavy sleeper regardless of whether or not they had work. It took several alarms and even Skyfire's assistance just to get him up and moving on some days.
Skyfire quietly stepped out of the room and stretched out fully with a low groan, brushing his fingertips against the ceiling. He rolled out his shoulders and walked to the small kitchen, starting the energon warmer and finding two cubes. As they heated up, he wiped off the drool on his abdominal plating and stretched out more properly.
Resting his elbows on the counter, he stared out at the curtains covering the balcony doors. The high towers of Vos glinted and shined in the rising sun, early risers already flying through the skies. His own heavy wings stretched out and he arched out his spine, stiff from sleeping under Starscream.
The energon heater beeped softly and he took the two cubes, thoroughly warmed now. He added some flavorings to Starscream's, making a note to pick up more when he went out as he stirred them in. Setting the metal stirrer in the sink, he took the cubes and walked quietly to the berthroom.
Sleepy, dark red optics met his bright blues from a cocoon of blankets, chin resting on pillow his arms wrapped around. Skyfire smiled softly at him and held optic contact as he set down the cubes on the nightstand.
"Good morning."
Starscream huffed, wings flicking under the blanket. "Morning. You left me."
Skyfire tilted his head and knelt down, reaching for him. "Oh, I'm so sorry for preparing us both breakfast."
Starscream latched onto his upper arms and yanked him down, laying back and hooking his legs around his waist. Skyfire pressed a hand above Starscream's head, leaning over him. "You left me and you woke me up."
Skyfire chuckled softly, tilting his head down and pressing a gentle kiss to his lips. "Will you ever forgive me?"
Starscream hummed softly, looping his arms around his neck. "I'll be generous this one time and forgive you."
Skyfire smiled against his lips, holding him close. "Good morning, Starscream."
Starscream huffed softly, but still couldn't resist a smile of his own. "Good morning."
