Work Text:

It hurts.

Please stop it

Father, please, it hurts too much

I promise I will do everything.

Please, just don’t hurt my little brother.

Hades-nii, it hurt too much.

Adamas gasped out, causing him to wake up from his sleep. The nightmare violently wakes him from a memory he had long forgotten. His hands violently shaking; he also noticed his sweat from the hellish nightmare dampened the bed. His eyes dart around the dark room, hoping that person is not there with him.

‘What am I thinking? That shitty man was long gone. That’s right, that damn titan currently rotting in Tartarus.’

Thanks to Hypnos for waking him up from the nightmare. Adamas discarded the blanket and hung his feet at the edge of the bed, debating whether to take a quick shower or take fresh air. Sighed with his turmoil, he hissed as he put down his feet on a cold floor.

‘Cold’, he thought; the sharp memory of pain returned to him. The memory was far long forgotten but he still feels disgusted with himself.

The coldness of the floor reminded him of when he shambles returned to his room after the special session with his father. Adamas does not know why he cannot run from his father. Maybe he feared him? Who knows. It was a common occurrence for him to be summoned to Kronos’s chamber. He couldn't believe it, but he had to accept it was true. His father was obsessed with him, and he forced Adamas to do terrible things against his will. He couldn't tell anyone.

Kronks never raised his hands to him but instead he caressed Adamas body. He approaches Adams from the front, pinning him onto the bed. He leaned close, breathing heavily, Kronus mind filled with thought of defiled him. He kissed him passionately, aggressively taking what he wanted.

The bed creaking can he heard echoed inside the chamber.  As Adamas, blankly stared at the side of the bed hoping it would end quickly.

If it was his lucky day where his father dismiss him earlier, Adamas would seek out his brother, Hades at his study room.

Unbeknownst to Hades on what had happened to the second eldest siblings.

"Why are you still awake at this hour, my dear little brother"

"Nothing in particular. Zeus kick me out of bed" Adamas smiled before continue to approach the sofa.

"Pay me no heed, brother" Hades was weirded out by the out of character of his young brother. He noticed Adamas flinched in pain and trembled slightly while searching for a comfortable to lounge onto the sofa. Interested in starting a light conversation with Adamas but immediately dismissed it after glancing down at the paperwork.

"You pampered our youngest little brother too much Adamas" Hades chuckled and Adams just hummed in response

Hades always worked late, finishing up documents and reports for his father whilst Adamas was sitting by the sofa observing his brother who was working diligently.

The paper page turning, and the scribbling sound.

The sound of his brother shuffling on the chair

His breath and the soft cold wind of the night

The warm atmosphere significantly eased his senses and aching body.

After a while, he dismissed the thought of the old days. Standing up, he walks towards the exit of his room. Before leaving, he glances towards the mirror, Adamas slowly caresses his face with a woeful look. He once had the same skin as his brothers. An ivory color instead of green.  Still, due to his father’s greediness and possessiveness towards him that damn father ruined him by cursing Adamas to permanently change his complexion to more titanlike. Adamas is the only sibling that has the most similar complexion to their mother despite the tattoo adorned on his body. Maybe that was a reason why his father favors him more than the others. The same hair colour as their mother, and the amber almost gold eyes as his father. His body is muscular but not too ripped like Zeus. How can he explain it. His body is slender with the right amount of muscle on each necessary part.

Ah… how he misses flaunting that look.

~Flash Back~

It was long before Poseidon was born, where there were only two sons of Kronos, which are Adamas and Hades. Adamas never knew the existence of his oldest brother during his childhood days. When Rhea announced her second pregnancy, Hades was so happy to have a baby brother. However, shortly after Adamas was born, his father fell in love at first sight with him due to his resemblance to his wife, Rhea. Kronos also discovered that his second son possessed a strong power that can be shared and used by the others. Adamas grew up under his father’s 'care' at the main palace and he only got to see his mother from time to time. During his life at the main palace-

all eyes were on him.

During his father’s reign, the gazes that were only allowed upon Adamas were adoration and respect, if there were any look besides adoration, they would face the rage of the king of titan. It is still a mystery on why his father ruined him despite being the dearest to him.

When he reached adolescent, Hades and Adamas officially met with each other. Hades was happy that after a long time he had got to meet his little brother. Hades was curious of his father for hiding Adamas from the others, but he dares to pry, afraid of losing his little brother out of his sight. On the other hand, Adamas had never been happy in his entire childhood life after learning that he had an older brother.

During that time his skin had not permanently turned green yet. Adamas was not quite fonds of the look given by his father’s subjects. Beauty can also be a weapon to gain victory but Adamas rather not using it. So, the first spell that he learned diligently during his childhood was appearances manipulation. He only lowered down the mask if his father demanded it. Despite his current fake appearance, Hades cared for him and loved him dearly, which Adamas enjoyed very much.

~End Flashback~

“If my appearance is less spiteful, will Poseidon look me in the eyes?” he said absentmindedly.

After a long reflection, he sighs.

‘What a foolish thought’

He walks out of the room. The soft gust of cold wind greeted him. ‘Ah, it’s still night’ as he looks out from the open-air hallway. The former Olympus god of conquest decided to wander around the temporary abode Hades provided him as a ‘recovery gift’ from surviving Poseidon’s attack and recovered by the help of the flies demon.

He snorts at his eldest brother’s effort to ease his so-called anger and resentment towards Poseidon. He was never mad at his young sibling; he never despised or annoyed by them, but instead he-

Love his brothers so much more than his divinity life.

Adamas thought their peaceful day would last longer if he endured all the abused and shameful acts of his father demands.

‘As long I’m here, I will protect both of you’ that was the sentence that Adamas repeated in his head while going through the pain. Adamas does this for the sakes of Poseidon and Zeus. He doesn’t want them to be defiled by their own father. What an irony.

‘I hope dearest Hades-nii-sama come back home safely again today’ Adamas prayed same thought repeated every time hades were absent from Kronos’s palace.

How come Adamas did not notice that time flew so fast, with a blink of an eye both of his younger siblings grew up. They all were ready to take up their godly duty without Hades’ help anymore. All their normal days as a family living under the same roof were over. Adamas blood ran-cold when Zeus wanted to go up against their father. Of course, the news of Zeus wanting to oppose the current ruler was heard by the king of Titan. It was not a surprise. Long ago, Kronos learned from Gaia and Uranus that he was destined to be overcome by his own children, just as he had overthrown his father. The prophecy had become reality now and currently was set on action, despite that the thought of his youngest son daring to oppose him made the ruler laugh at his throne room. Titanomachy occurred.

During the frenzy of the war, Adamas secretly takes one step ahead of Zeus to confront his father without others knowing. Kronos eyes brightened when he saw his beloved son come to him.

“Father” his voiced echoed through the chamber addressing the man that he once looks up and the very same man that tarnish his life.

“I have been waiting for you, my son. It’s not a surprise that you will come by my side Adamas. You did enjoy my company” he reaches out to his son face with a wide grin.

Slap

Adamas slapped his father’s hands away from him and his eyes struck with anger and hatred at Kronos. Disgust. He jumped away from his father and summoned his scythe. Kronos eyes bewildered in shock. He stared at his hand as the pain lingered. He snorted, even his proudest creation turned him down.

“What a foolish act. You can have everything Adamas if you stay by my side. You’re better, stronger, and far more perfect than any of your brothers. So, stop this ridiculousness at once.”

“The fool one is you; I no longer belongs to you and I alone shall stand against you. I would not let you torment my siblings anymore. Your reign is over, Kronos.

“Very well, let us indulge with this battle far from the eyes of the others. I do not wish to be disturb by those brats.” He said knowingly that Adamas come to him discreetly without others knowing. With a snap they both were transported to the craters of ruins. They can see earth from here.

“Still being considerate I see. What a nice place for you final resting, father” he said mockingly towards Kronos. Adamas readied himself to attack his father, however the first one to advance was Kronos. The clash was so great it broke the sound barrier.

‘It is not easy as I thought’ Adamas grinned while withstand the blow from his father. ‘Father you are strong warrior, a formidable opponent and I shan’t hold back for you’ he thought excitedly and broke every ounce of resistance that he had sealed to counter his father attack, thereby the great battle occurred between the King of Titan and his cherished son; God of Conquest, Adamas.

Time does not apply during their fierce battle. The fights go on until Kronos was the first one to fall on his knees in exhaustion and lose a lot of blood. Adamas saw the chances and hardened his will to end the battle once for all. He tried to slay his father with his treasured divine weapon.

Tear of Cosmos

Adamas utter under his breath as he swings his scythe in uncurving motion mightily with intention to kill but before he could end his father’s life, a single string struck Adamas’s heart when he gazed upon his father. Adamas was suffocated by the two emotions that were not fit to be felt at once -

Fear

As the memory of Kronus ravaging him flash briefly. His postured trembled. Losing focus.

Love

Adamas love known no boundary. He knows how cruel their father was towards them but deep in his heart he loves and respect his father despite Kronos disgusting affection towards him. He may not be a good father but he was a great warrior and teacher to him.  After all, only his father acknowledges his strength and power. A worthy opponent that Adamas dare to unleash his full power. He was the only one who're able to bring good out of his father. Loosened his weapon grip.

Adamas struck a swallow blow at his father causing Kronos to fall on his knee in exhaustion after witnessing the tremendous strength.

“What’s the matter? You’re stronger than this” Kronos said while huffing in exhaustion.

Adamas dares not to face his father as he grits his teeth in shame for harboring that kind feeling towards his father. He hate him but not fully.

“I didn’t raise you to be like this. Face me! End me! Show me what you can achieve. You can end me, can you?” Kronos attempts to provoke Adamas.

He turned his heels looking at his father, “Are you jesting with me Kronos. A king that feared being dethrone by his own children.” Adamas fixed his postured and now looking down towards his pathetic father figure.

“And now you are begging me to end you?” he said gravely.

A laughter erupted by Kronos that can be heard across the ruins. Adamas was not amused at all.

Kronos rose from the dirt, still laughing and now standing on two looking at Adamas fondly.

“What a shame. You’re too kind for this world. After all you are one and only worthy enough to succeed my throne after all” Kronos said gruffly.

Adamas swallowed hard, rearranged his thought

“I have decided that Zeus will fulfill the prophecy to dethroned you.”

“Also, with your current wounded condition that I had inflicted towards you” he faced his father and scoffed.

“Zeus will surely be able to defeat you” he smiled darkly

“Consider this as act of mercy, Kronos” Adamas stoically walked away from his father and leaving him behind, not even a glance was shared for their final partings.

“What a shame. Your pain and sacrifice will never be known by them” he said while looking at Adamas figured walking away further from him.

“The do not deserve your affection, my beloved son, Adamas.” Those where his last words before the war came to an end.

Just as Adamas predicted, Zeus went up against his father Kronos and Zeus fought Kronos in the Titanomachy Tournament, where Zeus ended up killing him. Zeus despised Kronos as a father but respected him as a fighter thus marked the end of Titanomachy war. All the struggles were over. The remaining titans were cast into Tartarus, the deep abyss of suffering and prison for eternity. Adamas solemnly oversees the aftermath of the war.

~Flashback End~

Having wandered aimlessly around the abode with nostalgia from the old days. Adamas stopped on his foot as he smelled a very familiar fragrance. Unbeknownst to him, he was now in a simple flower garden area. He looked right and left in a cartoon manner.

‘How the heck did I get here?’ he cocked his head in confusion.

Tonight, was a very long night for him, he shrugged. He looked around and noticed that the smell was coming from the flowers around him. His eyes twinkle slightly as he knows what he has seen.

“Ah…. Chamomile flower, I’m not aware it was here before” amused by this finding, Adamas silently thanks Hades for remembering the significant details about himself.

This is his favorite flower tea. He smiled faintly and approached the neatly planted flower tree. Adamas looked up at the night sky shining with stars as he breathed deeply into the night air. When was the last time he really freed himself from the pressure around him. He should be happy about this. No, he should be grateful that everything is over. The pain is over.

Everything is over.

His father is no longer here

no more living at the same abode

they won the Gigantomachy war

He fails to dethroned Zeus

Everything is over.

Zeus govern the Mount Olympus safely again

Poseidon resumed his duty as ruler of the sea

Hades return to his duty at the underworld.

He is happy for them.

No

“I’m proud and happy for them”

Everything is over

Adamas named were no longer belongs among the gods of Olympus

He had no subject to govern.

His historical existence was erased

He was thrown out by his own brother.

He should be sad or even resentful towards the fellow gods treated him like this

Everything is over between him and his family.

Why does his heart feel hollow? As he hold his chest tightly

“This is what you want isn’t?” an unknown voice chirped inside his thought

"What I want?"

Oh yes Adamas no longer sought his brothers affection and respect anymore. After all...

It is over

Frustrated with his own heart, he unceremoniously falls in his back onto the flowerbed ‘Ah how I miss my brothers’ he thought while slipped into the slumber under the showered blanket of night by goddess Nyx to ease his sorrow and loneliness from unbeknownst future.

A lone tear shed from his eyes dropped onto the ground.

Why does it still hurt, brother?

Notes:

Thank you for reaching to the end.
If some of you feels familiar with plotline. I got inspired by the writer QishanWenSect for their amazing adamas one-shot.
Forgive me for a lot of flashback. I'm gonna make this as the based for my future fanfic about Adamas.
I really like the idea that Adamas is Kronos favourite son. If you guys had any head-canon to share feels free to comment it.
