Work Text:

They had eaten their fill, Granny had brought out her lasagna, Emma had really enjoyed it, and she had missed all of that, she had missed her little boy who after eating two portions of lasagna had collapsed in her arms, David arrived to rescue of her and had taken Henry in his arms, so they decided to go home, MaryMargaret had agreed with Ruby and Granny for the following evening and celebrate properly.
She really didn't care, she had silently followed Mary Margaret next to David holding Henry, could she really get used to all of that? She'd only stayed in Storybrooke for Henry, her didn't care about anyone else, or so she believed, spending time with her mother (yes, she still had to get used to all of that) had helped her deal with the burden that had accompanied her whole life: the abandonment of his parents.

The four reached the loft, apparently David had settled there with Henry after their disappearance, the man himself without saying anything took the boy upstairs, what had been Emma's room, perhaps now her had to consider the chance to find a home of his own. Henry needed his own space, and David and Mary Margaret needed their own space and time to recover, but that her could deal with later.
“I think I will collapse as soon as I touch my comfortable bed” the brunette said catching her attention, the two looked at each other and smiled, she too had definitely missed her bed and the comforts of Storybrooke.
"I'll give myself a quick wash so I'll leave the bathroom all for you" she said disappearing where the bathroom was, at the same time David went down the stairs, smiled at her and felt a little uncomfortable, they hadn't spent much time together, or for at least since he had gotten back his memories and the knowledge that she was his daughter.
“So how did you fare in our old world,” he said quietly leaning against the kitchen counter in front of her, giving her the peninsula space where she chooses to sit, secretly appreciating that David kept some form of distance.
“Terrifying” she admitted with a small smile, she saw him smile in amusement, her watch him carefully as he told her some old world stuff, and she realized how different he was from David Nolan, James or Charming as his mother liked to call him, he was a self-confident man, a leader.

She saw him approaching and tried to focus on him, he put something on the kitchen counter in front of her, it was her sheriff's star.
“This is yours,” David said with a soft smile.
Emma took her badge in her hand and it reminds her of Graham, the night he died, the smile he had given her after the kiss they had shared, a grip went to heart, she missed and deserved better, the sense of guilt for not believing him, was eating at her.
To distract her from thoughts of Graham there was the arrival of Mary Margaret, who emerged from the bathroom in one of her soft and super comfortable pajamas, approached the two of them, gravitating towards her David.
“Did I interrupt something?” she said in a low tired voice.
“I just gave Emma the badge back” added David putting his arm around her shoulders, they looked very natural, even though they had been away from each other for a long time, it was so strange to see them interacting so intimately, as if all that time spent apart didn't affect their relationship at all.
"Everything OK?" the woman asked knowing how much Graham's death had taken a toll on her, but she brushed away her melancholy, shook her head, and put one of her forced smiles.
"Yes, and it will get better after having a hot shower" her said getting up from the stool, with a last smile her said goodbye to the couple and went towards the bathroom, once the door was closed her leaned on, took a long sigh trying to restore order her thoughts, since she had broken the curse had not had much time for herself. With a push she moved away from the door, turned on the hot water and took off her clothes letting them fall to the floor near the sink, would arrange after. She got into the shower and let the water run over her hair and skin, it was just after midnight so she allowed herself to relax under the hot water, something she definitely missed in the Enchanted Forest.

Emma let the water empty her mind dragging down his guilt towards Graham. She caresses herself skin, washing away not only the dirt and sweat of his journey, but also Gold's words that her had magic, washed from her skin the clashes with Cora, and the anger that had hit her at seeing what Regina had ripped her off. She just wanted to think about going back to her job as a sheriff, being with Henry and finding a solution to live with Regina and the fact that she had raised the boy until a few weeks ago.
She didn't realize how long she stayed in the shower, but once she felt relaxed and decidedly clean enough to go out and wrap her body in the bathrobe that Mary Margaret had wanted to give her for their first Christmas together, she combed her hair and then wrapping them in a soft tablecloth, would let them air dry. Her picked up his clothes from the floor, checked that her had nothing in the pockets of his jeans realizing that something was in the left pocket, it was something soft, her pulled it out and for a moment her heart skipped a beat: it was the black scarf Hook, the one he had wrapped around her hand with. She had completely forgotten about it, it was as if she had gotten used to keeping it in her pocket.
The scarf was very fine, certainly with the gold he stole, he could afford the best weaving in that kingdom, his silk shirt wearing and the waistcoat also proved it.
Their adventure on that plant of beans came back to her mind, the terror that had seized her when she realized that he had seen who she really was, what was hiding in her past, without her talk, initially she was convinced that it was It was Cora who had told him something about her, but surely the witch could not have been aware that she had grown up alone.
She sat on the edge of the tub, she didn't know why but she couldn't take her eyes off that piece of cloth, she turned it in her hands, brought it close to her nose, and besides the powder she could smell a slight hint of something spicy and salty, something leathery but she couldn't identify it, something very similar to the smell that had hit her when she had approached him to avoid the giant's trap.
It got on her nerves most of the time he spoke, but she certainly couldn't deny that they had worked really well together. What she'd seen in he face and eyes at the mention of Milah made something deep inside her vibrate, something that made her admit she'd been in love once…and it was the memory of Neal and of the pain he'd given her that she'd convinced herself to leave him on that plant of beans, though she could still hear the pain and confusion in his voice when she'd chained him.
She had done everything not to think about him again, to not think about the sincerity in he voice when he admitted that he wouldn't cheat on her. Think back to the fact that he at the lake he could easily beat her if he hadn't been concerned with saving Aurora's heart.
The truth is that Hook, that pirate capable of turning any sentence into something lewd had gotten under her skin and she hated him because Emma Swan had walls of hers that served to prevent people from hurting her.
Her shook his head driving the pirate out of his thoughts, her picked up the scarf and took it with would put it somewhere hidden in his desk at the station, her would never think of him again, would never see him again, no one would know that he had come back to visit her in her dreams that night and no one would know that in those dreams she would indulge her attraction to him.
