Chapter Text
PEGGY PARKER'S BEDROOM
Peggy took a breath, she wasn't exactly an expert at using social media. The most social thing she had was social anxiety (and the unused twitter account MJ asked her to make). But she'd fought bank robbers and car jackers. She was Peggy Parker, she was Spider Girl. She could do this, she could make a twitter for Spider Girl! She owed that guy who gave her the free hotdog! She couldn't fail him. She took a deep breath and pressed the button, posting her first ever tweet as spider girl.
Wow, that was terrifying. Peggy refreshed her post a few times, and was shocked to find she'd already gotten some attention. She- holy- was that Eddie Brock? The guy who did some of the biggest stories for the Daily Bugle, replying to her post. This- this was insane. She had to respond! But how?! Ok, breath Peggy, it's just Twitter, she could do this.
Ok, Peggy wouldn't lie, this didn't seem as scary as she though! She was fine! Wow, the internet really wasn't as scary as middle school PSAs and her Aunt May made it seem. Heck, people were even liking her post! They- wow that was a lot of likes. Peggy would've done more, but she got a notification. Her little news app was going off, and something was going down outside of city hall. Peggy sighed and grabbed her Spider Girl suit to go check it out!
THE NEXT DAY
Peggy checked her phone, it was only about noon and she'd just finished delivering a pizza and now she was sitting on the wall of one of New York's taller buildings. (Yeah, she does pizza deliveries as Spider Girl, so what?) And spotted a post from MJ, who had actually been her latest customer.
Well, Peggy opened up Twitter and logged onto her old Peggy Parker account, and decided to have a little fun, and maybe just browse a bit before swinging off.
A FEW HOURS LATER
Peggy went to reply with some incredibly witty comment, before checking the time. Holy smokes it was 7:55!? She needed to be home an hour ago!! Oh man, Aunt May was gonna kill her! Peggy pocketed her phone and got to swinging immediately. She had to get moving, and fast! She swung off before landing near her home in one of the big apartment buildings that flooded New York and Queens. She changed in the abandoned old stairwell nobody used anymore, and ran downstairs to get to her apartment. She knocked on the door, and was greeted by a worried looking Aunt May.
"Peggy! Oh dear come in! You can't worry me like that! Where were you?" May asked, as she let Peggy come inside.
Peggy scratched the back of her head, and shrugged, "I got lost? And there was this accident on the road and people were crowding around and I couldn't get through! Oh- and Spider Girl showed up! I uh- I'm sorry Aunt May." Peggy replied, hanging her head in shame.
May sighed, "It's alright dear, just let me know when your staying out longer then expected next time, ok?" She said, pressing a kiss to {eggy's forehead, "I just worry about you is all."
"I know, sorry Aunt May. Buuuuuuuuuttttt, now that I am home... What's for dinner?" Peggy asked, eliciting a hearty laugh from her aunt. She'd come up with a funny reply to the Daily Bugle post tomorrow.
