It was all supposed to be just a joke! A funny haha! A tease! Just the way it always worked between the demon and the totem!
Bad would never actually do anything to get between Foolish and Vegetta. Not seriously. And anyways, even if he tried he knew Vegetta was so enamored with Foolish that he would never doubt him. He had shown that time and time again. So where was the harm in getting his best friend a little riled up?
That's what he thought when he pulled out the video Pierre had given to him. But that sentiment changed drastically when Foolish typed out that message and actually sent it.
Bad didn't expect him to actually do it.
“FOREVER BAD DOESNT HAVE INTEREST IN YOU ANYMORE”
It was written there in the chat never to be taken back anymore.
It took Bad a second to realize what Foolish had just done. And the worst thing was that Foolish didn’t even realize what he had done. How could he? Bad started to panic internally while attacking Foolish with his gun. He would kill that muffin head for this!
This was bad for so many reasons.
Ever since the book it felt like him and Forever had started to avoid each other. Bad hadn’t, of course! Well, at least not consciously and if he had he would never admit it. But Forever had definitely avoided him. And it wasn't like they hadn't talked or hung out since Forever was back. They just hadn’t really talked or hung out alone. Without others, especially other adults.
And they definitely hadn't mentioned the book. Ever.
And that was fine! Perfect even! It's not like Forever had been on Bad's mind constantly. The only reason he had called Foolish “Forever” multiple times now was because they both started with an F. That was it! Not because his every thought revolved around Forever these days. That would be crazy!
But now Foolish had fucked everything up! With this stupid sentence meant as a joke. So many implications in so little words were forcing Bad to act. Forcing him to actually think about it all.
His thoughts were racing. Fudge, fudge, fudge! How the fudge was he supposed to react now??
It was already so hard to even let himself think about what Forever actually meant to him. So it had been REALLY hard to write that book. Eu te amo. But he had been fine leaving it at that! Well, mostly fine. But he knew that after the whole Philza thing Forever wasn't really interested in anything like that. And he could respect that! Well, mostly.
But now he had two options that were equally terrifying to Bad.
If he didn’t say anything Forever would believe what Foolish had typed and Bad didn’t want that! Of course he didn't! He didn't even want to think about why. Well maybe it was obvious why but he didn't want to think about that either.
And if he did answer… what would he even answer? What do you say to something like this? Something… that… wasn't(?)... true? Or was it? He knew the answer to that. But that would also mean he had to spell it out. And not just inside a book that no one would ever see and he could just pretend never existed in the first place. It would be there in chat for everyone to see. No more denying it. Well, he could still try. He got away with surprisingly a lot.
But before he could think about it too much he typed:
“forever it’s not true foolish is just mad I have evidence of him and aypierre”
With his heart pounding in his chest and his hands almost shaking he sent the message before he could change his mind. Maybe everyone would focus on the second part.
Hopefully they would.
Foolish and Max seemed to have moved on to a different topic and Bad was so thankful for that. He joined into the banter trying not to stare at the chat window waiting for a reaction, any reaction. Or maybe no reaction was better? He wasn’t actually sure.
But then Max started questioning him again about Forever almost the same time as Forever sent “ohhh” in chat. What the fudge was that supposed to mean? Was that a good ohhh or a bad ohhh??
He tried to concentrate on the conversation or even better get out of this conversation. And he hadn’t actually lied to Max. There wasn’t anything going on between him and Forever. Nothing had happened. Not really. Unless you counted the book. But that didn’t count in Bad's opinion. He also was definitely not avoiding the conversation! (He totally was.)
And then there was another message from Forever. One word.
“fofo”
It took Bad another second to comprehend what Forever had just said to him. Cute . His brain almost short circuited and he definitely wasn’t paying attention to the conversation in the room anymore. Cute . He wasn’t sure what he had expected but this was not it. Cute .
It wasn’t even a conscious decision when he found himself typing
“come to my house forever”.
So instead of freaking out about what he had just sent in chat he just pretended nothing was going on. Cute . Everything was fine. Cute . So normal. And he continued answering Max’ questions when Forever suddenly logged off.
That… was again not what he had expected. Maybe his game had crashed? The timing was very… interesting though. But he forced himself to focus back on everything except Forever. Cute . The conversation about how to kill Foolish and the new stronger mobs on the server but of course Max circled back to asking about Forever. Why could he not just let it go?
A little part of Bad felt bad for Max. The fake wedding had been more to him than it seemed to have been for Forever. But still Bad wasn’t technically lying to him. And why did he suddenly start to talk about Forever's abs? Bad himself was not quite sure but it was at least a different topic? Kinda? Right? Not really but what could he say? The guy really had nice abs. And he was definitely not gloating. Forever just objectively had really nice abs. That was it. Absolutely.
When Forever came back he said good night so of course Bad had to say good night back. With a “<3” . But that was nothing, of course. While he continued to talk to Max about Forever's abs. Nothing going on here. Just a totally normal conversation.
And apparently Forever wasn’t going to bed after all. Totally not strange. Everything was totally fine and normal. Nothing was going on. Absolutely nothing. And Bad wasn’t absolutely confused about everything. It was fine!
Thankfully Foolish finally came back! They could stop this conversation and forget about anything that did or did not happen and go talk to Foolish. He felt a little guilty looking over to Max but he had been right about what he was saying to Max.
Nothing was going on between him and Forever. And it would probably stay that way.
Right?
