The moment he had entered the familiar forest, it didn't take long to discover there was an anomaly of some sort.
Granted such things weren't uncommon in the world of shinobi. After all, considering how they used chakra for so many jutsus that connected them to certain higher powers such as Susanoo and Amaterasu, even ones such as Kamui that had hardly an explanation. They just were and that was enough reason that tey could be used to further another ninja's career.
However this? This didn't feel like chakra. No this energy that Madara was sensing was something else.
It was ominous yet it felt hot; like how he imagines a closed furnace feels when left alone with a never ending fire...or like the heat of the Amaterasu flames he wields in battle. Yes that sounds close to what he was sensing yet that energy...He looks up when he can hear a soft crackling sound ahead of him and sees the air rippling above the trees. The closer he gets though he can't help but notice that there aren't flames.
Meaning that it was coming from a person.
Was it another Uchiha? One of the older men unlocking the Mangekyo Sharingan or a young one just unlocking their katon? Then again Katon tended to be much easier to control and keep contained than whatever this was. This strange new energy felt barely contained like it was barely being held back by whatever controls it.
Maybe it was some kind of demon? A new jutsu? Perhaps an animal that had been summoned?
Whatever it was, it could prove troublesome and Madara needed to make sure it wasn't going to be a problem to his clan. His clan that currently was recovering from a battle and didn't need a fight with some unknown new enemy. It was bad enough the Senju were advancing as it is...
Again he considers the idea that it's one of the Uchiha just training and perhaps discovering a new jutsu that can be useful. That was the best case scenario as he starts to move to get closer-
"Dragon of the Darkest Flame!"
Madara went still when a sudden stream of blackish-purple flames burst up into the sky and taking out the trees surrounding it; burning them to nothing but blackened ash and sending other falling over before the stunned man. His long wild black hair flickers from the force of the impact they make causing a small wind around him. He blinks as embers flutter around him threatening to land on his skin and burning him as his eyes tear up from the heat alone.
Never in all his time alive fighting has anyone created something like that.
This was nothing like Amaterasu's black flames. The flames he just saw were too wild and untamed and whoever owned that voice...
He reaches into his sleeves to pull out the kunai from them that he then brings close to his face as he narrows his eyes at him. As the smoke clears and the trees begins to stop burning, he can see a figure starting to steps forwards towards him. In that darkness, three eyes-three, not two, not even one but three eyes!-glow menacingly as he owner of them finally steps into full view.
A hiss leaves Madara as he blinks his eyes to clear the tears from them. He stares at the lean figure who he now sees clearly.
"..Hah?" He tilts his head down at what appears to be a short man; his black hair stood up wild and spiky towards the sky as he stands dressed rather strangely in black pants and a black shirt with no sleeves. In his hand sits a sword as he narrows his three eyes at him.
"Well well, this is certainly not the human world I know of," the short man huffs, tilting his head with an almost bored look, "You're dressed rather traditionally, perhaps I travelled to a different time?"
Madara narrows his eyes as he watches him with a huff, "Excuse me?"
"You're armor reminds me of the samurai, and yet you're spirit energy is higher than a psychic medium's. How curious..."
"...What are you blathering on about?" Madara crosses his arms but continues to fiddle with his kunai, "Samurai? Do i look like I come from the Land of Iron?" He raises a brow, "I am no psychic or medium, what clan do you hail from?"
The third eye blinks and it sends shivers down his spin as he tightens his grip on his kunai. The small man tilts his head and gets an almost sadistically playful smirk on his face. Like he just stumbled upon something incredibly, interestingly funny after showing such a strong feat of power.
The Uchiha didn't like that. He didn't like that in the slightest.
"Clan? I really did travel to the past didn't I? If you're not a samurai then what exactly are you? A ronin? It's been a long time since I ran into one of you. Did they kick you our for your strange abilities? To answer your question I am of no clan if you must know. I am Hiei, Master of the Jagan Eye and Dragon of the Darkest Flame. You should take heed and turn around human otherwise that little show you saw earlier maybe targeted at you next."
"...Tch," Madara snorts and raises a brow, "Ronin? Please," his eyes shift from the onyx to red with the circling three tomoe, "Don't use such a term when you speak to a member of the Uchiha. I am the holder of the Mangekyo Sharingan and I am a shinobi. You think those flames of yours could scare me?" he rolls his shoulder and cracks his neck, "You're just a little spitfire who can't keep his mouth shut aren't you?"
The short man, Hiei as he calls himself blinks ans tilts his head the other way, "A Shinobi? You're not dressed like one...it doesn't matter."
Madara tenses as he watches this strange man with that strange energy that he now realizes may not be chakra at all but something...something not from this world. If this man was from the future or from another dimension? it wasn't impossible since those who wield Kamui have been known to transfer people through places. He watches him as he suddenly gets into a stance; sword pointed at him.
"For speaking so disrespectfully to your betters, human, I will have to kill you since that idiot Koenma couldn't be bothered to send me to the right time and place."
The taller man, tilts his head with his brow raised rather unimpressed as he rolls his shoulders, "You're a cocky little man aren't you?"
He doesn't know what this shorty was going on about. Had no idea about who this Koenma was or why he compared him to a samurai who tended to leave the war alone in their own land. He doesn't know what's even going on; only that this tiny man with three eyes named Hiei who had a powerful fire jutsu was pointing a sword at him and has the gall to say he's his better.
"I'll show you little, you bushy haired lower being..." Hiei hisses.
A slow smirk comes across his face before he lowers down with his kunai out and narrowing his eyes.
"Then bring it, small fry."
